I bought one of those small DC inverter welders as well (though not this exact one) and it just amazes the heck out of me how well it actually welds. A lot easier to move around than my old Lincoln AC225 buzzbox too :)

I have been looking for a review for these inverter welders. You see I only just got into welding, as a matter of fact, I am still a spectator at the time of writing but now I can say I am confident in going into welding and choosing a welding machine because of this Video, I appreciate your effort in making this video.

I only want to use it to do light welding on Classic cars that I will buy and sell, but only will weld occasionally as I try to buy classic cars that don’t need welding but past experience has cost me to pay someone else to weld bits of my previous classic cars! thank you, it is extremely rare i make comments on RUclips but i really appreciate your review very detailed and extremely helpful, well presented thank you, i have been restricted to a wheelchair over the last few years and my mig welder has sat there for years not used as it just way to big and even on wheels it just not practical, and this sort of welder looks to be the sort of thing that i can use, that is easy to move about light and i will be getting something similar, the sip T1400 and will be looking forwards to being able to do some small welding jobs again. you are a star thank you so much i wish there were many more like you, you made clear all the info people could want, i would suggest maybe if you do any follow ups or similar items you demo welding a couple of bits together and show how well the weld reaches in to the metal, i know you said you are no welder but many people that have never welded will likely watch and be interested in how easy or hard you find it as a novice. anyway take care and thanks again.

15 years ago I bought for 100 USD an italian Telwin 100 Amp, a 125V which could be plugged on a common 15A plug so it was usable everywhere with 6013; 309 and 312 sticks. Excellent for light fabrication and reparations anywhere with a 15A plug. I gave it 5 years ago to a friend after burning hundreds of sticks, it works always flawlessly.
A trick, with these miniature inverters, stainless steel sticks as the the 309 and 312 are easier to use, with less heat and gives very good results, specially on 14 gauge galvanized tubing, as the welds are smooth, with minimal burn of the galvanization. No grinding needed as the "glass" pops by itself and the welds are nice.

Are the mains and secondary windings of the transformer not isolated from eachother? Dark and light copper wires seem to touch eachother. If that is the case, isolation is only from the coating on the copper wires. That can not be good. It's difficult to see from the video.

I have a Yamato 300 amp inverter type and my welds look really bad. I tried adjusting the amperage, reversing the leads, cleaning the weld surfaces like a mirror and still, my welds are poor. I’m wondering if it might be the rod I’m using. I would like to try a different type but I can’t find any.

I bought one, the 120v version, and there is a screw on the back that is supposed to be used to connect a wire to ground the unit, I'm not sure why but the one in this video doesn't have it, maybe mine is newer. Also not sure why they didn't just include the ground wire with the other 2, I think maybe they got in trouble for not having it grounded so they just added the screw on the back to keep from getting sued. Having said that it does work pretty well for how cheap it is, though the amperage isn't quite as advertised, and it is difficult to strike an arc. Great deal for the money though.

Got mine working today, first time welding. I noticed mine has a screw at the back near the power switch, it says in the manual that it is supposed to be used to connect a ground wire to the unit, which is an odd way of setting it up, as the wire would be housed independantly of the others. I noticed on yours that there is no such screw on the back. Mine is the 120v version. It is very difficult to strike an arc with it, it sticks to the metal a lot, but for $100 I got it, plus the grounding clamp wire and the electrode holder. Very good deal.

I enjoyed the video ; only one thing made no sense...I 've been welding since 1974...the last thing you want on a welder is a soft start...all that does is make the welding rod stick...maybe you didn't know that...

This is not the smallest welder I have seen. Here in australia I have seen a 170amp inverter welder that clips to your belt and is made for steal fixers .
    The size was 150mm x 130mm x 65mm.

As a person who buys Chinese devices. This welder more than likely claims to have 220amps but in reality it is 30-40% of that capacity.

Have you watched the video at all? where did I talk about 220A? I showed that the real current is 100A ruclips.net/video/96N8nYt6-7c/видео.html
