i don't think pred is entirely doomed, a new hero and map changes would be cool and is basically confirmed for 1.0 but all i really want is 24/7 ranked with more things to buy with amber.

as Smite 2 coming out 24/7 closed alpha the same week pred is launching with almost everything that this game is lacking, I believe it's already a game over for Predecessor
They haven't fixed matchmaking, surrender system or retention system but they are launching??? They just sent us a survey because they are in denial about needing to change these systems but pretend these aren't the issues. The game still has placeholder art for items for crying out loud. I point out how bad the matchmaking is on discord and I get "timeout" so devs ban people for saying the game has problems.

Pred unless they really add retention system or fix afinities or something that gives player a reazon to grind something is doom to end up dying.
The devs fail to see that and just want to see the dollars going up.

When in early access is the community involvement going to happen as Robert made it pretty clear that our input isn't valid, or did he mean just playing the game and being milked via overpriced skins?
I could go in on every big mistake they have made, especially Robbie with his extensive Paragon/Pred history that is thankfully public, but I really don't want to spend an hour writing criticisms that aren't valid because I have more than some arbitrary number of hours in game... Especially when 99% of the community instantly attacks criticisms and concerns because they are terrified of their broken game somehow being destroyed by reality being spoken.

I agree with many of your comments. I invested under the promise that this project would flourish and grow and progress but it’s pacing at a rate in which my interest was lost before it could keep up with providing the content and features I was expecting it to have. I am an OG Paragon player and have played about 1200 games Predecessor. I recently uninstalled 4 weeks ago after several bad matchmaking instances and having repeat AFK offenders. I finally threw in the towel and decided I won’t revisit unless there is a significant amount of changes made to the game. I can’t even believe there is no way to chat or DM w/ other players/friends outside of in-match… but I’ll stop here because thinking about my frustrations with this game is getting me heated.
I wonder if you guys remember the guy who played steel who was toxic every game and would afk. He got banned once and then re made account and they did nothing about it. You knew when u got him on your team he was going to play steel and troll

This game feels like a giant fumbled opportunity. Duo lane is a giant mess with no real supports, just secondary damage. Offlane is basically the same, a full damage role. Some toons feel horrible, some feel broken, nothing effectively gets fixed and the updates are so spread out that marginal changes are weeks behind critical fixes to balance things. It's not going to disappear overnight but it doesn't feel like a MOBA in any real sense and will definitely get overshadowed with the Smite 2 release. Pred currently feels like an upscale mobile brawler at best
As someone in testing. I can say that the things we test, and all feedback we give is heard, and NEVER taken lightly... Things we, and yall have asked for are things that they arent ignoring. Its a matter of them working on alot at once, and getting things out once they feel well polished for the most part... I can not say anything of what is or will come, but I will say that rgsace is in EVERY testing session. He may not be able to play in the testing session all the time (as he was in a few games of brawl within testing, and some for Grim before release). But hes doesnt get to play the game as much compared to all of us, because he takes his job very seriously... He responds to alot of feedback we give, and makes sure things get fixed within the testing landscape... Any questions we have he has no problem in answering. He is the face of the company, and tries to promote it, and help all that he can. So with all that, he doesnt have much time to play as you or I do. So some of the things that were missing may not seem so apparent to him. But we do let them know on what things that we would like to see come in the future, and things that need to be fixed. And its all taken as good feedback... Things are sure to come, and they may come slower than some company's may be able to produce. But i will say that it usually comes with higher quality than alot of mainstream company's produce... We all love the game, and nobodys opinions go unheard. If the vast majority wants something changed, it gets changed. Even if the devs disagree which has happened in testing before. They will change something if enough people think things should be different... They make the game for the people... Sometimes when people give feedback it can come of negative with the words they use, and it kinda makes people less inclined to listen... Best thing to do is to say whats wrong or missing, say why things should be added/ changed, and dont make it overly negative. It will get more notice, and more people are inclined to agree if you view makes sense and things are more likely to change... Saying whats missing isnt always the best way to bring up a issue, rather than explain the reasoning behind it... Best advice i can give. Is put out a vid/post of what you wanna see changed, added, or removed. Explain why they should be, and how it will affect the game in a possitive way. Dont make anything sound like your bashing anyone, and make it constructive where people can put there input on things, and not have it become a place for negativity... All possitive feedback is taken, and heard. Enough of it will make a difference. Even if it takes time, things will change if its for the better of the game... Hope you dont stop playin Pred, we all love the game. Its why we all play it, and watch content for it... Omeda is whats best for the game, and have the best vision for it moving forward... Things may take time, but it is there first project, and they only plan on releasing thing when it feels of quality... I can vouch for that cause theres alot ive tested that hasnt been seen in game, or by the community yet. Hope you keep playing, and hope everyone else does aswell. The games only gonna get better.
I did that in the beginning. Also map changes have been asked for for well over a year? Whats the excuse? Affinity is closing in on 1 year old and they promised it would be purchasable for free? Still hasnt happened.
Quit making excuses for them. They arent a good game studio and the poor work is reflected in their continuously dropping player numbers.
I love the game , keep up the good work. Maybe since PC had it available for 2 years they're burnt out. but I just started it back in May and I am hooked. Forget all the other MOBAS, don't care for them, and wouldn't give them any more of my time 😂. The game does need more tutorials for new players new to MOBAS.
@@Krashy Its not making excuses... Overall we need a new map, but that takes time. If we were to have gotten one sooner, then ALOT of things would have taken longer to be added... The affinity thing i can understand being upset about, cause its a lighter thing to be added, and doesnt take to much to get goin, but we dont know why that has taken as long as it has. Other than Ranked taking the #1 spot in prio currently... Giving insight on my side of things as someone who works with them I figured would help give insight on how they work as a company. And that they shouldnt be seen negatively just cause some things take awhile... They arent a large, and have all the resources at there disposal. They have some, but not as many as most... I gave my side of the story to maybe reduce frustration, and overall unsatisfaction with everything thus far... If it came off as im making excuses, then idk what to say other than. This is my side of things as someone who has been working with them for almost a year now. If you dont agree with anything ive said, then sorry but we see things abit differently... I can name many of games that either dont care about there community, do things to spite them, or flat out pretend they dont exist and do what they want for more money... Omeda is not one of those companies, I can put my life on that as someone who has seen thing on either side of the curtain... If you continue to play I hope you enjoy it. If not then I hope there will be some point in the future that you can come back, and enjoy the game as you once had before... For some insight, I try to keep a more positive insight on things. Particularly situations like these when it comes to games. I keep a positive outlook until their track record starts to show it on a downward slope. Until then I maintain a neutral if not positive outlook... Just cause a few things don't happen when I hope for them to, doesn't mean they don't add others in the meantime that are also as highly requested , and much needed features that help the game in the long run... We've gotten more good/great updates than bad ones.
@@xilencered7788 I will say, some mobas do them well for sure. But alot are pretty bad... I would like to see a better one come later down the line. Glad to hear you enjoying it. Ive been playin ever sense it was in closed beta. Dont remember how long ago it was, but it was about 2 years ago. Been enjoying it sense. Had a few spots where things were abit rough, but overall its been making good if not great changes... Map does need to be adressed in a future update. Aswell as UI/ Menu improvments, but those will come in the future... Main thing is that the game feels good, and people arent getting frustrated with bugs or any other issues affecting play.

Had two players go afk together in a ranked mode. Another with a dc on the enemy team and I uninstalled the game after the match. Taking at least a one week break. Absolutely no reason a ranked match should be a 4v3
I’ve personally never played an early access game with such slow and small updates. The only patch that felt like a huge update was the brawl patch.
I hear you here but I'm hoping it does well myself. I didn't come from the older Paragon part of things but as a MOBA fan and really enjoy the game for the most part, I want to see it work and succeed.
I love the ideas you placed on the reddit post and it makes sense but its totally on Omeda Studio to see this and make some good changes close to those suggestions.
Here's to hoping but the critiques and ideas to fix are something Omeda and other games need to make games better.

Seeing what the game looked liked a few years ago surprised me, considering just how much of it looks the same today less than a month away from official launch. I think you're right Krashy they're being pressured, my guess is that they had an opportunity to get onto Gamescon and they're scrambling to get a decent launch ready for it. I hope that the silence is due to them working really hard to make this launch massive but I'm not holding my breath. The patch needs to come with huge additions, definitely the ones you laid out there which I agree with but one of them better be the brand new map they said they were going to work on. Ain't no way they're releasing 1.0 with the same boring asf template map, if they launch with this map we've had since alpha I will truly be amazed.

I don't know much about the business and marketing aspects of game publishing. From a gamer's perspective, the version designation doesn't matter. The developers have repeatedly emphasised that they will continue to work on the game. So, for now, everything is ok, right? Or am I missing something?
Man this bums me out. I just found predecessor a month back and have been loving it. I was in search for a new moba, after HoTs went down the drain. I didn't want to get into Toxic LoL or Smite. Pred, def scratched an itch. It's sad to hear the background of the game now, with the lack of updates and info from the devs. Hopefully, this does turn around, because I'm enjoying this game a lot. It was def something fresh to me.
The gameplay is so good that its sad to see how little they have done in such a long period of time.
I still hope they can somehow find their footing but i just dont see how they can.

" ParaClone" I don't think any player...regardless of Platform would want to invest into a Beta or Early Acses. With so many Failed Clones including the Original...Coming out of beta I see good with this..
Pinzo makes a better argument with his thoughts on this..Why not just wait to see what this update brings ...My issue with Predecessor is that I feel the game still dosent have Polish that Paragon had...

Ignorance is bliss to most folks. I love this game/paragon more than any other game I’ve played but you’ve hit the nail on the head here
Predecessor succeded in its goal: Remaking Paragon.
They even made a better game than Paragon imo by taking a lot of cues from LoL. That said, they failed to keep up with content, and honestly even more importantly, they failed to innovate on the genre to make something truly special. The pitch of LoL but third person just isn't enough. It takes more than just good gameplay to build a live service.
Even on that note they failed to deliver on what makes many f2p games successful, retention systems.
I like playing pred, but not for nothing…no rewards. Nada.

Note for the equity investors possibility- Predecessor has had 22.2 MILLION dollars invested into the game thus far. How feasible is it that epic and steam players reached that 22.2 million dollars to "break even" before f2p release?
note about robbie being a bit "rude" or "off-putting" - He answers questions like an American politician, he just rambles and asks you if you think your suggestion would benefit the game at all. i think what he means is "you're not helping me make money, keep playing my game and ill keep pumping out the updates i feel like putting out while you suffer and wait for us to listen to any real player feedback"

I got to 400hrs and then stopped. I still like the game but it’s just boring after awhile. Same map, same characters being picked over and over again, afkers and crybabies are abundant plus more! I was excited for Terra but a few days after she came out I just couldn’t bring myself to play another game…

Ngl we all love pred and hope its gonna be big but i think only the cosmetics are missing ofc gameplay isnt that good everytime but its a small studio let them cook a nice meal slowly. I agree man, at first as someone who watched a lot of rgsace when he made Paragon content, I thought he was a perfect fit to restore Paragon’s vision and make it even better. But honestly, under him as CEO, progress has been minimal. And he’s made some comments that make me feel like he’s out of touch with the community. So much for a community-first game lol

Does anyone know why we don’t have open voice comms on the actual game? I’ve never understood it and feel like it would solve a lot of issues. Why does a game that relies so heavily on teamwork relegate its players to using discord. This isn’t league where everyone’s on PC and can type.
You can type on console with a controller. You just gotta turn it on in your settings and know the buttons to press.

Predecessor needs to be in full release. They may not have everything you want right now but you don't know how much content is being released. You assume the next content patch is going to be very small or not enough. For all you know they could be releasing everything you are looking for in the game

they are launching 1.0 this isn't its final iteration LoL is on version 14.15... its very different from what it was at 1.0.... Its very common in this day for games to release half baked... At least pred isnt "half" baked, at its core i.e the mechanics and the enjoyment of the game play which I think is the largest part of the game is good, it just needs continued support, if support drops then we worry but as long as we support it and Devs support it then it will last until it too is at version 14.15! Negative viewpoints like this just dont help, if you dont like the game anymore dont play it.

@@Krashythey are definitely a smaller stupio. Like that is obvious. To develop this game it will take lots of time. Paragon died immediately when it was changed to appeal to the masses. They are trying to avoid this but taking they're time. Some definite problems like afk and matchmaking etc and skins etc. Hope it succeeds with numbers tho who knows

Hasn’t he said this like 4 times and keeps coming back? Keeps coming back because the game is great to play. Give it a month he will make another video. Give the game time, it is in early access and is with a very junior development team. Don’t expect it to be perfect, enjoy the process.
Stop complaining, lots of people love the game and will play it and hope it grows with increased marketing when it is ready to launch,

I gave them criticism and my content, my voice, my word of mouth marketing for over a year and what have they accomplished? Launching a game that fails to retain players into v1.0 far before its ready? Good job Predecessor, soon enough we’ll be memeing predecessor as Deadecessor just like Paragone.

idk krashy i think the investor thing is cap man like think about it to get millions of dollars from people for a game they are going to want a plan like a firm plan this is when we start beta we will run it for this long test and try everything we can and then will release in this 6 month window spend X amount on marketing and from everything we have seen like it or not the game has only grown in size and players sure it might lose a new now and then but the steam chart does not lie and thats the only one we see we dont know Epic or ps5 numbers and if investor want to recap on money they would be pushing them to make and sell skins not push out a game they think is dying to lose more time and money but thats just what i think and from talking to a friend thats in finance
To think that the steam charts arent relevant to human behavior on all platforms is incredibly naive. I dont need to see the player numbers of console to know that the console playerbase is also getting smaller over time.
The game lacks solid retention systems, thus players stop playing. The trend is there and all you have to do is look at it. Whether or not what I suspect about investor pressure is true or not doesn't really matter. Predecessor has PROVEN to not be capable of strong retention.
@@Krashy it mean when they make a marketing push of any kinda and they have not really the game grows and yes of course the player base gets smaller over time not by much tho this is beta man its not mean as a hey we need to keep everyone that comes in it is for people that want to test the game and give feedback and hardcore people that loved paragon and i think its naive that investors "see that a investment they made is dying" but then give them more time and or money that makes no sense like at all

If the investors are starting to get cold feet because they see the game failing they may pressure them to release to try to see profits and if they dont they could pull their funding.
This is a very realistic possibility and Omeda may be forced to push into full release as a hail mary to try to save the project before getting shut down.
oh shit sorry i didnt see the other half of this i agree they have not given any good retention systems yet but man i got to say im not crazy upset over that yes i want it for a full release and i want it over all of course but the gameplay stands on its own and thats what i care most about yes i want to rank up and get skins and talk shit with sprays but over all i want that gameplay to be butter everytime i play i want to outplay someone cuz i made the right moment play and they didnt and i think thats what most to everyone loves about it so i think if this patch can deilver a good amount of what we are looking for idk i have faith also i think they were quite cuz they were in the lab cookin shit up that they could not talk about cuz they had a eye on the prize (being the 20th) but this is just my guess you could be 100% right
@@Krashy its not tho thats not how investor work they take the first initial gamble but if they see things treading down they would just pull the plug they would not waste the time and money if they already lost X amount and stand to lose more that would never happen

Games are either good or bad. Pred is bad. If it wasnt it would have a larger playerbase with better retention but it doesn’t.
