The good thing about HDB 2-room flexi flat design is that the toilet and kitchen have windows for natural ventilation. You won't find this in most 1 bedder condo.
I will its pros and cons la. Actually even for my home toilet, with the windows opendd its still hard to get the floors dry, simply because it is positioned where the winds are blocked.
As a fellow HDB 2 room BTO owner I agree with mostly what you have mentioned. Plus the additional tops of of adding curtain to the bathroom door is super useful! Or some owners did ventilation fan on the window panel to suck out the smell of toilet.
Thanks for sharing! Just wondering if you ever wish you gotten a bigger flat? I am contemplating to get 2 room or resale 3 room. 2 room seem very small. And I probably need to cater a space for a work desk. But I also like the fact that I don’t have to worry too much on mortgage!
If buy big first then downgrade to small ? Can fetch rental in case loss of income. But if u don't like to stay with strangers, and to be single buy 2 rooms straight away no need to think .....no hesitation
2 room BTO looks so much better then 1 bedder condominium and so much spacious. Only thingy that 1 bedder condo comes with a patio. Whereas the 2 room BTO no service yard sadly
Last but not least a little more to comment, don’t you realise that the older Housing board ( HDB) 2room/3room/4room/5room/ exec/ if you observe closely their toilets/ storeroom so call Bombshelter is built outside( externally) . Whereas the BTO majority the toilets , Bombshelter are built-in within( inside your house capacity sqf. No choice but to adapt 🫣 Lucky me my ceiling is at 290 cm high as we debated, still ok lah. I’am at high rise BTO , friend
@@hdbwithmichi, future flexi HDB owner here. Yes agree the kitchen bad fengshui. I’m thinking of ways to correct it-like if the stove is electric surely I can place it somewhere else. And I might wall up my kitchen but I’m afraid there’s no space to open the oven door (I bake, and need a 60cm oven at least). And the HDB planners really-how can they create a laundry area with not enough space to hang king size bedsheets! Single cannot sleep on king size meh?
You mean hot because there is no air or just your unit facing west sun? Do you use aircon? I'm getting mine I'm so concern about the air circulation if like you say hot 😬 also ceiling is low? How come?
May I know what’s the purpose for having those “thing” (pls pardon me as can’t see clearly) at the edges of the main door? Prevent pest coming in or sound proof?

Yes, you're right! The option fee reimbursement for 2024 is no longer available. It's important to factor this into your budget when considering a BTO purchase.

Really? No windows in 1 bedder?
I prefer the bathroom next to the main door as its easier to wash up when returning home after work. Mine is at the center of my unit lor.
I still remcommend closing the bathroom door at all times.
Tks for the cost info..just to add..seniors abve 55yo buying short lease 2rm flexi DO NOT need to pay downpayment..pay all during key collection..😊😊😊❤
I see. That is a good thing.

Nice to know a fellow 2 room owner like you. Yes, the curtain is really helpful.
Small room easy to maintain...like your house neat and clean🥰
Thk u. Yes it is indeed easy to maintain. Thats why i say it is an advantage.

Pros and cons.. 1 bedder condo can also be nice...
Condos all about investment. Whereas I can’t imagine the kitchen is attached close to living area🙂
@@Lynda2446 Oh yes this one i do agree with you... kitchen close to living room. Also the stove near to water tap, bad Feng Shui.

Yes, it is to block pest (E.g. lizards ) from coming in. It also block some noises, but not much, roughly about 20% of noise reduction.
Did u do it yourself and where did u get them? I am scared of lizards too

What a great advantage to almost need not pay for electric and water bills 😊
Yup. Thats the advantage of small 2 room flats.

The only thing I dislike is the sliding bedroom door. BTW, the TV is too big for this flat size in my opinion.
Pros and Cons of the bedroom door. Opening a normal door is more straightforward, as compared to pushing a sliding door.
@@hdbwithmic ya I prefer normal door or a smaller sliding door
