I am from the UK and I have been binge-watching Jeannie. I think humorists, or the ability to tell a story in an amusing way, are born, not made. She certainly has the ‘gift of the gab’ as we say here. It demands high intelligence and the ability to see the world through the spectacles of understanding human nature. As a singer and piano player I was invited to sing my songs at a Christian Women’ Aglow meeting. The very name ‘Women’s Aglow’ made me chuckle - as it made me think of that saying ‘Horses sweat, men perspire, but women only glow’. It was my first one hour concert and I was terrified. There was no way I could rehearse or know what to talk about, so I reckoned I would make a long list of songs and just keep on singing them one after the other until my hour was up. So apart from thanking them for inviting me, I launched into three consecutive songs, but then, as I found myself relaxing a bit, I decided to explain the circumstances which led me to write my next song. No one was more astonished than I when I seemed to take off and recount the amusing things that happened - they were in tears with laughter. So I decided to recount another amusing story, then a tragic type story which engendered moist eyes - and suddenly most of my hour had gone. I ended up with a song and that was that. Afterwards I was utterly amazed at people’s reaction - they had laughed and cried and my husband told me he had never seen that side of me, as he said ‘you have an innate ability to communicate with people - I never knew that till now”. I had never known it either. But since then I find myself telling stories based on real life to my grandchildren - and every time I visit they beg for another story. I feel so blessed that God showed me that this was a natural gift from Him. Jeannie is a master of humorous communication, her timing is impeccable and she has the audience in the palm of her hand. Now I must watch what happens with the Baptist’s on their raft trip down the canyon. Love you Jeannie! Jennie xxx

Thank God for people like Jeanne that can find humor just by experiencing it. We love listening to her and the love she has for Left Brain. In a world that right now has little to smile about she brightens the day. Our preacher especially likes Don't Take A Baptist to Las Vegas and the rafting segment. We love them all and can't wait for others to be posted. She is so cute and honest and I wish there were more like her.

Jeanne, for the first time, I cried instead of laughing at this. (I did laugh at the end though) My oldest son is a Veteran. He served with the U.S. Army, as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne out of Ft. Bragg, N.C. He was discharged approx. 15 months ago. He had wanted to make the Army a career, but an IED changed that. He is doing well and sometime this weekend we are going to drive to where he, his wife, and our little granddaughter live and not come back home until after Thanksgiving. I am so proud of my son but grateful would be a better word to use because since that time back in 2011, I never knew all that happened that night. Thankfully our daughter-in-law will sit and talk with me. Thank you Jeanne!!

He and his wife and son live in Denton, TX, very far from us. I'm so glad you got to spend time with your son and his family.♥️

@@bbredingtonable Bless your heart Bethany, I will gladly tell him thanks from you. Please pass on OUR thanks to him as well as your entire family for the sacrifice you all made. I learned during our son's time deployed to Afghanistan just how much families sacrifice during that time. I never went to bed without my cellphone by my ear. He is doing well, and for 2 years now, he's been taking wounded veterans duck/goose hunting on weekends during the season in fall and winter. He was nominated by 3 different groups for all he does for his fellow wounded vets, and a couple of weeks ago, he was awarded the cutest little black lab puppy, and his name is "Remi". In pictures, he looks more charcoal gray than black, but either way he is so cute. With the COVID virus, my having back surgery 10 days ago and our younger son having a repeat surgery on his leg next week that the femur was shattered back in November just 3 days before Thanksgiving but it's not healing right so next week, he will have all of the hardware removed and a bigger rod and new screws put in place, possibly a plate in there as well. I was hoping he would have some time that he could go with us on a trip to Tulsa for a few weeks because he was only back to 4 hours light duty work for a couple of months before his surgeon realized that 2 screws had broken and the bone was not healing together like it should have been. If it's not one of our kids, it's the other. It seems like our 2 granddaughters are doing great though and I miss them so much too. Good luck and God's blessings to you, your brother, and your family that you all stay safe from this COVID mess. It's pretty scary and we are doing everything we can to stay safe. Thanks for reading my book, y'all are in my prayers!!!!

I don't know what's wrong with your laugh button sir, but if out loud laughing is what makes her a comic, then she needs to be in some hall of fame. I have just stumbled onto her for the first time tonight, and I have been laughing OUT LOUD so hard that my sides hurt and I have tears streaked down both cheeks! She is HILARIOUS! What was the point of writing something so ugly anyway. You not get enough hugs as a child?

Smedley Butler was required reading in his home. Still he taught me to have the utmost respect for our service members amd I do. I have to respect people who are willing to put others before themselves.

Diane Waters I have to tell you that in my opinion it is getting CLEANER!!!! I'm 60 now and I've heard everyone from Ron White to George Carlin and Bill Engvall to Jeanne. For some people the profanity works, but for others, they make it just as funny, even more so, without profanity. One I just discovered on "Dry Bar comedy" is Fred Klatt. The man is HILARIOUS!!! Not a single "bad" word in any of his routines that I've heard yet and I've listened to a bunch now.

I think it's wonderful how the country is showing appreciation for its military in this decade. Would that the nation had been so appreciative of my Korean Conflict cousins, my boyfriends' Vietnam service, and my own military service. I was spit on--yes, spit on--in the deep south while attending a school at Keesler AFB in Mississippi. So, keep thanking the current warriors (like my own son who is a career military member), but keep in mind that there were about 30 years' worth of veterans who served their country equally well and honorably who also endured the vilification and sometimes outright abuse of their fellow citizens.

Shining the Light!--Thank you for the kind words. Just please keep in mind that many in our nation still hold the military in contempt. Right now (Feb of 2018), in SoCal, there is a high school teacher who was recorded telling his classes that the military are "the lowest of the low" among other sentiments. While he is entitled to his personal opinion, the "facts" he fed his impressionable high school students were--and are--completely erroneous. He is currently on paid administrative leave while the district for which he works investigates the incident.
