Man, unplugging and plugging back in that bit saved me so much. At first some lights didn’t go back on, it took a few sec I was so paranoid lmao but thank you so much!

Thank you for posting this. I just reset mine, with the exception of not starting it. It immediately booted the Sync screen. Now that Ford no longer supports this system I've been waiting for these problems.

thanks - this worked and fixed the black screen on my 2012 ford explorer. Pulled the power cable to the fuse box while the car was running, waited a minute, plugged it back in, the car's computer rebooted, and a minute or so later after loading everything worked again. Saved me the cost and hassle of going to the dealer or buying the parts to fix it myself...

This worked! Thank you! My screen was completely frozen, even after a couple of days. Some other videos talked about simultaneously holding down the power button and forward search button. That did nothing in my car, but this worked!
My hat is off to you Sir. You saved me s bundle. 2013 F350 with 27k. The other day no Bluetooth,no voice commands, no stereo. Wouldn’t turn on with screen or button and no steering wheel functions. Went to dealer he tried reset function no go and told me I need a new APIM. So I made an appt. for next week. I saw this video last nite, disconnected neg cables on batteries, waited ten minutes, hooked them back up voila it’s working perfectly. I also get text messages which I have never gotten in the five years I’ve owned it. Thanks again !!

Well I spoke to soon. After 9 days it went out again. I have tried to follow this about 20 times with no success. I am getting so frustrated. oh well.
Had been getting hourglasses on Sirius Travel Link for the past week on most services and tried everything to get rid of them. Then tried this fix. Did not seem to work at first but I did notice that some of the symptoms had changed. Services started to work one by one and after four hours they were all working fine. Thanks a bunch!
Dude, seriously, thank you so much. I have a 2011 Ford Explorer and my radio wouldn’t turn on. I couldn’t reach the fuse to check it. I tried for about 45 minutes to try to get to it, but couldn’t. I tried your unplug and replug ... and PRESTO!!!’

Here in 2019. It worked!!! I reset it last night and it didn’t come on at first. I started the car first thing this morning and drove to work and it still wasn’t on. After I returned to the car it came on with no problem.

This did the trick! I was driving and saw that the screen was showing a frozen image from the camera. Then when driving again, the screen was blank. I was so worried that I'd have to take the vehicle in for servicing.

Same thing happen to my Flex. All you have to do is unplug the Negative terminal of your car battery, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. It worked like a charm. You'll have to reset your clock, though ;)
I was having trouble getting all of my Sirius channels on my 2011 Flex after hours of time on the phone with sirius trying to refresh my signal .....to no success.....I found this. This fixed it.....now getting all the Sirius channels ! Thanks

Just FYI for another method (this will only work if Touch is working but other functions aren't. For example, mine was stuck in A/V In): you can do a Master Reset via menus by Settings > System > Master Reset (you will prob have to scroll down, since it is last item in menu - at least on mine).
Thanks for sharing. Before I watch your video I did try replacing the fuse without seing result (and yes, it happened to me on another ocasion to loose a fuse because it felt behind :-/). Proceeding as you show permited to launch the reset successfuly! Thanks again.

Thanks! Worked for me... at least this first time. Hope I don't have to do that every few days. We have the 2013 Edge and the MyTouch started locking up after about a month. Otherwise, we've been real happy with the Edge and MyTouch.
I have a 2010 F-150 and my fuse box is a little different. I unplugged/replugged the fuse for SYNC and that didn't work. I then tried the fuse for RADIO/NAVIGATION DISPLAY and that did the trick! Thanks!

Nice. Easy to get to the fuse on my 2013 C-Max. The fuse block is on the passenger side. F79, 15-amp. The radio has flipped out twice--once completely dead, and today just the entertainment/radio stuff. It's hard to get to the starter battery.

I did this technique w/ the engine off. left it unplugged for about two minutes. Plugged it back in and started the car and it absolutely fixed it. My black screen was back to normal. Thanks!

Great Video...I have a different problem. My buttons for the AC are not responding, not even on the touch screen, have you had this problem, radio works fine and phone, but AC has stopped working. Please help...

have the same issue with my my touch also, had to take it back to the dealership for diagnosis charging me $110 , had to pay for another interface module. 4 months later the screen doesn't light up no radio, or navigation system still under warranty but have to pay for another diagnosis. thanks for the tip on resetting the system. is there a recall on this part that you know of if so can you give me a heads up thanks again

lmao, i hate those stupid fuse doors... never want to lock back into place. lol great tip, im an idiot i should have picked up on this already. being an electrician youd think i knew about just cutting power to entire panel rather than fight those insanely small fuses. thanks again

keep it up to date real fix Same problem I always do master reset and it worked for a week or so but issue goes back again.
Mine isn’t even coming on anymore it seems like it isn’t getting power then out of nowhere it will turn on while driving. I’ve also noticed while it is off there also isn’t any power to the charging port below or inside the center console. I’m going to try this to at least see if it does anything.

I have a 2011 ford edge limited and my radio, control panel doesn’t have a push button for my hazards just a touch censor. When it’s cold outside or to hot my hazards turn on and won’t turn off. Any recommendations
Will have to try this in my f350 next time Bluetooth Audio decides to go mute. Removing the fuse worked like a charm the first time it came up...2nd, 3rd and 4th time not so much lol spent an hour at a truck stop on 37 heading to San Antonio messing with it ha First tried the fuse trick again- nothing. Then disconnected battery, waited and nothing. Disconnected the 2nd battery, waited again but nothing. Disconnected both batteries, waited some more and still nothing. Finally disconnected both batteries, removed the fuse, and let it sit for a while- still nothing ! Nothing in my phone would play through the truck while connected to sync via Bluetooth after selecting Bluetooth audio as the source in user device settings 😠. Finally recognizing defeat and eyeballing this beautiful 3500 Cummins, I decided to reset my phone and voila ! Everything was working fine and dandy again. So yeah, I'm not sure what to think of what happened, whether it was the phone the whole time or what ha ha Nowadays , when things go mute, I turn off the truck, remove the keys and open the door, then reset my phone... before I start disconnecting things 😂😂
Good advice! I find it strange that people suggest that having a car with a computer issue is a possible starting point for a lawsuit. Strange, I've been trying to work around Microsoft software for 30 years -- and rebooting seems to always be the temporary fix. No one ever sued MS before over the way they have always created their software....

My radio works just fine the volume the seek foreword and all other buttons, the only thing is that the screen turned completely white and the back up camera doesn’t the back up sensors do work though
Mine froze in the middle of a Sirius update, couldn't do anything, tried the system reset twice with no luck then pulled the fuse and success, thanks

Taking off both battery cables and letting it sit for 5 minutes then put them back on fixed mine.
that use to work for mine.. but now its not all the sudden... lol. This thing is a piece of garbage. Why is there not a recall?
