MSI says the US MSRP for the Gaming X is $450 US, so that's not bad, but it will be interesting to see how long it takes before we see cards available at that price. Also Asus and Gigabyte 5700 XT reviews coming soon!
Correction: The Evoke OC VRM and GDDR6 temps are incorrect in the graph, sorry that was an export mistake in Excel. The Evoke peaked at 76c for the VRM and 82c for the GDDR6 memory, the GPU temp was correct. I'll update these graphs for the next 5700 XT review, sorry for the error.

I’m particularly interested in the ASUS TUF 5700 XT since that seems to be a new cooler and shroud design. Also triple fan but relatively compact.

Completely agree with you on the high lights. Silver would have looked dope imo. However missed market opportunity, if they made theese subtle highlights easily interchangeable they could have sold cheaply made highlights, for a decent price. I could easily see people pay 15-20$ to have an easy color option on their GPU.

I had purchased one of these on November 28th of 2020, when I built my system, I had nothing but problems with my system restarting during game play. Did some research on it, and discovered that it might be video card related. Tried updating drivers and every other fix suggested with no luck. Bought a PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT Red Devil Overclocked Triple-Fan on 12/12/2020 and have had no issues since. Returned the MSI card on 12/15/2020. MSI card was $424.99, PowerColor card was $439.99, I think the system stability was worth the extra $15. Of course the price of the Red Devil card now is $629.99, if you can find one.

This answered exactly what I need to know about the 5700 XT's, I'm stunned the nitro+ is like 10% more costwise in our market (pc case gear has all 4) and a few percent different between the msi and the red devil costwise. XFX coming last but also being the cheapest and loudest. I think the Nitro+ in our market priced themselves out of the race a little compared to the Red devil and the Gaming X and the XFX card isn't cheap enough compared to these 2

Got the Sapphire Nitro+ yesterday, super quiet and low temps, it was also 10$ cheaper than the MSI Gaming x where I live, and the Nitro+ IMO is the best looking 5700xt right now, fits well with my build color scheme which is a dark grey/black and white.

  • @Qalibrated

If they would ditch the red details already or atleast make them replaceable with different color options, i would be sold. The only reason i have a bit of RGB in my build is so i'm not bound to a single color and can change the color scheme without swapping the hardware. My last build was red (like, very red) and when i wanted to try something new, i either had to swap more than half the components for different ones or start painting my parts. I know it's kinda nitpicking, but after spending a lot of money redoing my build and going specifically for neutral parts with the lighting being the only source of color in my build, parts with forced colors is just a turnoff. I think the card looks very nice, even with the red details, but come on MSI, if you're providing a highend (probably pretty expensive) card, atleast give me the option to choose the color of the accents or make it a bit more neutral. Anyway, i'm done ranting, great video, Steve! :p

This is how you do a card upgrade! While XFX rep cries about their product being "attacked", instead of taking the criticism and making something better.
With THICC II they made the same mistake as Zotac did previously, making a heavy/huge card with poor thermals.

Seriously, this card is a monster in Dx 12 and Vulkan which is all game makers are using now for the most part. And with 8 GB I will never run out of VRAM at 1080P. That super smooth b-roll footage mhhh. Great quality. One suggestion for the power consumption charts: Maybe you can include power consumption measurements for multi-monitor idle scenarios in the future. From what I found on some online reviews, the whole Navi line up seems to have a pretty high power consumption once a second monitor is connected.

Or just wait for amd to release the 6000 gen cards. Also get a good ammonium of ram if possible. I have 32gb ram. Never had to use that much but i wanted to future proof it. Or just get a high speed ram like 3600mhz cl16. That should do wonders.
