And watching boats go through locks. I have a lock 2 mins from my house and despite having watched probably many hundreds of boats go through it, i still stand and watch when another is going through. What's that all about!
You're a lovely couple and give such good commentary on where you are and what there is to see all around you ! Also Benny's music fits so well with your travels and what a lovely character Alan is - always entertaining. Anyone who suffers stress should be linked to you.
Thanks for the tranquil (for me) views, Ben's restful music, Emily's commentary, and for a peek into Vegan dining. What a gentle couple (and yet such a dynamic duo!)
One of my favourite boating channels on youtube! Just love your laid back way and watching your adventures. Can I suggest you do more tours around towns/villages and any cities you travel through as this ads to the vlogs I'm sure many would agree, and you're both great on camera... including Alan of course!! As a fellow musician I love the accompanying music from Benny.. so dreamy and great music for a boating channel. Look forward to the next vlog. 🙃
Lovely couple, and a beautiful Cat. We've realised after watching your videos, that we were moored behind you at Westport Lake this year, and I said to my hubby theres a guy playing a banjo next door lol
Hello again from the foothills of Mt Rainer, Washington state. Always lovely to see the 3 of you living your dream life on the canals of the UK. I was wondering if you were alright, because you usually post your vlog early on Saturday mornings. I usually wait for you to post, so I can enjoy living through your journeying. But today you were a little late, but I ended up getting my chores done and I got enough firewood chopped for the day. All stacked by the woodstove. Been mighty cold up here in forest lately. I hope you keeping warm yourselves, and I must say that Ben is very good with his musical talents. I have been watching your vlog's since the beginning, and I really like the adventures. Allen has adapted well to living on your narrow boat. I have debated whether I should write out lengthy comments, because you don't really engage thata way it seems. Good luck and be safe, and I'll be watching for your next adventure. Your friend Slider J.
Hi Ben & Emily: I found something that mite interest you, being an old mechanic I understand your electricity supply is limited, so here is a good product I used on holiday when camping. You can look on eBay for the very small, "Handy Heater" which puts out 500W, it has a two speed fan, which I set at low, & you can set the heat to 20c, once it reaches what you set it at, it turns off the heat. It also has a 12 hour programmable timer! Price: £12.50 - £20.00. Love Your shows, thanks.🍄
I am a big fan of Emily's energy and competance getting the locks set. Looks like a big job . I am a 57 year old disabled guy from southern california. Loving this content and creative music from Benny Aka Bingo Happy.😊
Hi, I’ve just binge watched all the videos in the last couple of days, my joint favourite canal vloggers are Ben and Emily and the country house gent, great chill out vids, we’ll done 👌
Nice one hope you find that bloody leak guess i will find out next week if ya still floating .i think most of the boat tubers are heading for the golly for the winter Big up ALAN 😺Have a top week 🙂😺✌️
OK, You two people, are the goofiest looking man and woman I've seen. Not ugly, but goofy. way off the standard example of the good-looking male or female. Yet somehow both of you look like major probable winners of the sexiest man or woman award. And you do this while wearing clothes that are also goofy as hell, yet somehow the new hot fashion trend. You top it off with the best facial expressions anywhere. Congrats You two very Unique people finding each other, developing a relationship, and sharing parts of your life, is something I am highly grateful for. Thanks
Hey guys and Alan. Missed a few of your vlogs so im catching up this evening. I think Ben and Lauren Cole lind should consider doing a duet. I reckon it would sound amazing ❤️🙏
Have a cat back pack if anything for emergencies that require her to be kept safely when you find yourselves having to leave the boat. She’ll get used to it if she doesn’t associate it with a vet. Loving your vids.
Emily and Ben you make it look so blissful but I know there is a lot of hard work and bad days we don’t see what is the one big comfort above all you both miss,by the way I have got a sling to carry my 15 year old jack Russel and he loves it when he needs a break when we are walking
I certainly know what a “demon” cat is when you try to put them into a carrier. I have one of those. Actually I have four of those. None of them like to go inside the carrier when they need to go to the vet. Jetta, Mallow, Patches and Ginger say, “Hello” to Alan.
Hope that you're still afloat! +7:55 are the notes in your canal guide a captains log or for stoppages ? I've always wondered if, being yellow, your van is ex AA ? Desensitisation is the technique to use for Alan - search for cat carrier desensitisation. The same applies to the cat carrier/rucksack. If she's trapped in the rucksack, be aware that you're taking on responsibility for her safety, so a dog close enough to jump up at her may terrify her and she may rip her way out and bolt. Best buy her a tracker collar, in any case. Findster & Tractive (use GPS+mobile phone network) are about the best but it depends upon the mobile signal and terrain. Noooo! don't go down the multiple videos a week route - that way lies madness!
Take heart Benny those locks are good training for if you do the Tardebigge flight 😊A cat in a rucksack in close proximity to the neck ? I don’t think so ,(l wouldn’t trust mine . )And the water ingress ,possibly the stern gland needs tightening ,but don’t over do it otherwise you might destroy the seal .
sorry if someone has already said it , but no9 just like you say it is on the woodstock triple album as a mike test. (but you knew that already) love your travels and will pluck up the courage one day to subscribe. luv u xx
Hello you two. Loving your peaceful, relaxed view of the English countryside from a narrow boat. Would you accept a tip from an old sailor? Either beg, steal, borrow or Google a basic nautical book on knots, bends and splices. If you were to splice an eye through the new fender line carabiners they would look super smart and professional, it's free and I guarantee you'll be chuffed to little mint balls. Peace and respect to you both.
Hi guys, it looks like the pressure relief valve on you calorifier (the red button thing) is leaking, it would explain the water pump running on and the relief valve is probably piped to blow out into the engine bay bilge that explains the water in the engine area
Oh that's a bit worrying, hope you fixed the pump & sorted the water ingress problem. If you get a cat carrier back/front pack let Alan find & sleep in it so she gets used to it, she won't associate it with the vet like she does her existing carrier. Good luck🤞💦&🐈
Just finished watching you pair ( & Allan ) again, another enjoyable instalment of life on the cut 👍 ... the water in your engine bay , have you made sure your stern tube is greased ? . . Catch you next week 🤟😁
B&Q is the same company as Screwfix with a little bit more on the prices, plus with Screwfix, 'n Toolstation, you can check stock & buy online to save yourself a wasted journey. Amalgam tape would be great for whipping your ends (ooerr) it dissolves into itself so can't peel off - also great for emergency repairs of pipes 'n hoses.
LOL I need heavy leather gauntlets if I try to put any of our three cats in the basket for a vets appointment. I even tried to bathe one once, Learned my lesson in about ten seconds never to try that one again 😁 yet they are the sweetest cats, Love following your narrow boat journey. 🙂
One of our favorite narrowboat channels ever!! We rescued a stray feline a year ago and she is in agreement with Alan that carriers suck resulting in a scratch fest with who ever dares to take her out of it. We found one that we introduced her to over several weeks that opens up on both sides, offering a lounge space during travel by car to the vet. This works well until she sees the vet and nothing helps, but to leave. We bought it through Chewy. Hope this helps...Maine USA here.
Great video, you two are real hard core workers. That was a ton of locks. Good work. Alan is the coolest cat ever. Hope that you are able to remedy the engine bay leak easily and inexpensively . Have a good week and thanks for sharing. 🙏😊🤗 Kathy
Once you get to Hurleston you should be OK for Llangollen in just a few days. It won't be as manically busy as it would be in summer so there shouldn't be the same queues especially at well known bottlenecks suck as Grindley.
Hello Benny and Emily. This episode guys looked hard work with all those locks. Thanks for sharing ❤️ you both till next time bye for now. Martin xx 👍 👋
Love watching you Benny on lock duty, interpretive comedy 😂 hope your ruthless pump has calmed down! Well done Emily with those barrow wheels! And guys I hope you’re still afloat 😬 btw, if I haven’t already mentioned I paid a deposit on a boat and await the survey…😌
Sorry we missed you must have gone into town,Malcolm and Stephanie your local waterways chaplains, onto Audlem and Nantwich look out for Martin and Fiona
I have a cat backpack for walking with my cat. I'm fortunate in that he loves car rides and adventure and knowing he is safe from dogs while walking is great. I've got one which is clear plastic but it's hard on my back so also got a material one but his view isn't great with mesh windows.
Perhaps see if you can borrow a cat carrying rucksack (before you commit) to see if Allan's happy to be in there. If she's initially ok then start with very short amounts of time in the rucksack then let her out. Then extend the time as she grows in confidence and the knowledge that it's only for short periods with a nice walk at the end!
Well done Ben & Emily your best on TV love watching you. 🙂Hope you don't mind me looking in while you're working. take care ( hope that's not rude but i am old 😆
Hi both, yet again a fantastic video, my grandon is learning how to play the guitar he loves your music Benny. I just love Alan, I love nothing more then relaxing on a Sunday with a cuppa watching your videos. Love to the 3 of you xxx
Thanks Ben n Emily, even though I’ve lived in Scotland all my life I was born in Nantwich and move up north when ai was a few months old. Thank you for sharing and hope you get the pump sorted ok. Gary 👍🔨📐😄

Great vlog guys. Trying to catch up been a bit behind take care
goodluck with leek.Cheers.
Hello You Three - greetings from Poland
"Locks as far as the eye can see" and "boaters paradise" - brilliant guys. Superb video on how to get through locks with the minimum amount of effort. So sorry about the waterpump and water in the engine bay. I think you may have solved the waterpump probelm. However, not teaching grandma to suck eggs, have you checked the stern gland? It might need regreasing or repacking.
Thanks so much for the entertainment, smiles, laughter and laid-back humour. This is why you now have nearly 8,000 subscribers! You bring a huge amount of sunshine into peoples lives.

It's not often you get a flat tyre on a boat 😊
😆
"We'd like to stay in Nantwich for a few days--get some coffee, eat some cake." Life is good on the canal, you two--cheers! 😄
