Hey guys! I wanted to let you know I just launched an "Insiders" Newsletter where once a week I'm sharing an important lesson I've learned in aviation, links to my latest content so you don't miss out, and links to any other interesting or helpful content I've found. I'm also working on a HUGE project I can't announce yet but I'm going to be sharing more behind the scenes info with Insiders first - Subscribe (it's free) at: airplaneacademy.com/insiders
@@Repented008 The kodiac is a bush plane, full stop. You can install a leather interior, equip the most modern avionics, coat her with the shiniest paint you like, shes still a bush plane. Keeping a plane in a climate controlled hangar and always landing on clean pavement does not erase what she is in the spars and ribs.
I don’t spend much time watching videos about airplanes costing multiples beyond my aircraft budget. But knowing your experience level and appreciating your modest demeanor, compelled me to watch. You made it fun and very interesting. Congratulations on getting to enjoy AND LOG this rare experience. Seriously happy for you 😎🎩♠️
With the level of engineering and technology we have available today there is no reason why every airplane built today cannot be built so in the same fashion they can't physically stall. That is just my honest opinion!
@@AllenPortman All planes will stall at one point, unless there is some software prohibiting this to happen. A stall may not be bad, as demonstrated here, where the pilot still has authority over the ailerons.
I would have to agree. This is an incredible Aircraft. I’ve been following these guys since the birth of the Kodiak. It always has been my dream to one day fly one and perhaps only one. Thank you for this video. It was truly incredible to see it from your perspective.
They cover how in his other video! Super cool, was searching for more info on the wing design: ruclips.net/video/lGf5uW3qyzI/видео.htmlsi=gwsZfwElAOq4UK6Z&t=368
What an airplane! Mark Brown, doing the demo is as cool as a cucumber and obviously knows that aircraft inside and out. Kudos to his confidence and knowledge of this technological marvel. Spectacular and impressive, to say the least! Rick Evans
I might have missed it, but did you mention that it is certified on floats too, that opens it up to a lot more operators. This had to be an absolute blast to fly
My dream plane is a PC-12 (or PC-24 😊) or maybe an M600. This thing is nowhere near as sexy as they are, but it's so darn practical! I love the STOL ability. Looks magic with the 5-blade too.
I hear what you’re saying!! The three aircraft you described are sleek, fast and sexy… kind of like a Corvette! The Kodiak 900 is more like a pickup truck!!! Throw a bunch of stuff in it and go!!! 😃
I‘m not a pilot but a big sim-fan since many years. I never really felt a plane, a stall, a dive or something. In 30 years i watched a lot of videos and tried many many planes in the sim. How this plane react in the stall is amazing! Even the Daher TBM, witch i love to „fly“ and of witch i think it is a great airplane, has less control in a stall. Wow, what a plane! Think i‘ll got to grab this for my sim! 👍🏻 ….one of the few advantages of simming - the most expensive plane in my hangar (737-800) costed me something around 80 Dollars😁 Hope the Kodiak is available for MSFS, thank you very much to share this video 💪🏼 and send you greeting from 🇨🇭 switzerland 👋🏻
Hey Charlie! I keep seeing you through all of these courtesy rides and wow, what a great experience for you! But please don't give up on your ol 172, as she has given you a life of enjoyment!
When I started flying, my original goal was to be a pilot for missions, and it turned out that they wanted me to have my A and P as well, and I spent all my money on my flight training so I did not turn out to be a missions pilot, but I would love to fly an airplane like this. It would be perfect for the job.
Hey Charlie - We met at the luncheon at Addison the other week. Stopping by to say howdy and give kudos for an awesome vid showcasing one of my favorite airplanes. Really enjoyed watching it!
ha I instantly recognized that ramp space/FBO. Worked in Ops for 4 years at Meacham Airport. Think I have even seen that kodiak there before. Thanks for the video.
Definitely an all-around outstanding airplane and it would be a dream for any general aviation pilot. As always with so much utility and size the problem becomes the cost. Of course in aviation there's nothing that can be considered an expensive so at the end of the day if I could afford it I would definitely buy one
Unicorn means it is something i will never experience… 😉 But “reports from others” say it’s awesome ! Slow flight and stall characteristics look SWEET.
I am not a pilot.....my sister's late husband built his own plane from a kit, and he flew it in air show formations, too. (he died of natural causes, not a plane issue.) But even though I don't fly, I was impressed by the "no stall" function. You'd think other plane builders would have figured that feature out and built it into their plane / wing / design themselves.....maybe now they will. Has it been patented ?

I think of the Kodiak as what every Cessna 172 wants to be when it grows up.
Well said
Laugh out loud !!
That’s a caravan, the kodiak is what every bush plane wants to be.
Don't be ridiculous. The Kodiak is what every 172 wishes would ask them out for coffee.

Mark is a great spokesperson for the Kodiak and a great pilot as well.

Thank you! I appreciate that and glad you enjoyed it. Sweet machine.
$3.5M not bad.😊
The stall clip is an eye opener.
Flying at 70, in total control.
At three times the weight of a 172, pretty awesome
Impressive!
RIGHT!??

Love the Kodiak. It's been a dream plane for me since the beginning. So capable. Now if only the lottery would hit...
My sentiments... I'm just not sure if I'd prefer this or a PC-24, AFAIK they're at a similar price point... (AFAIK)

This is my dream plane. So jealous.
Full stall and turning! WHAT!!? Super impressive!

My dad was a controller at Meacham back in the late 70's early 80's. Kinda cool to run into a video randomly from someone flying out of that airport.
What an airplane!

The 900 is not YET certified for floats. The original Kodiak 100 (Series III) is. They have no indicated and if or when on the 900 float kit.
This with floats would be so cool..
Love the stall portion. Not just a turning stall, but turning WHILE in a stall. Very impressive!!
That is state of the art for sure. One of my faves
Awesome video. Good landing. Thanks for sharing man!

I walked up to a Kodiak at an airshow and it was def big and sexy. I was taken by it, not ever seeing one before.
I hear what you’re saying!! The three aircraft you described are sleek, fast and sexy… kind of like a Corvette! The Kodiak 900 is more like a pickup truck!!! Throw a bunch of stuff in it and go!!! 😃
My dream plane WAS the PC-12 or PC-24 until I saw this video. 😎
Nice video! My dream plane. In spite of some of the comments it is great to showcase this plane.
The best "beta" noise goes to the Fairchild Metroliner III aka the San Antonio sewer pipe. That thing had a sweet symphony of sound.
What an aircraft! Great demo flight and explanation. I'm soooo jealous. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed!!

I love it! The price tag set me back! $3.5M to start. Rich guys toy. In that price range, I'd be debating with a C208 (Caravan).
Great job flying….and in producing such a wonderful video. Watched it all, start to finish!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed!

That is one impressive airplane. Congratulations for getting to fly it!
Awesome video. Good landing. Thanks for sharing man!. This is my dream plane. So jealous..
Glad you enjoyed!!
This is my favorite all time flying machine,i hope one day i ll be able to ride it,even better fly it.Thanks for sharing this!
That is the kind of airplane I would take on a trip around the world.
When I started flying, my original goal was to be a pilot for missions, and it turned out that they wanted me to have my A and P as well, and I spent all my money on my flight training so I did not turn out to be a missions pilot, but I would love to fly an airplane like this. Oh man, this is the greatest. Thanks for posting, Charlie.
Glad you enjoyed!!
"Cool Piaggo!" Guy in the Piaggio was probably like "Cool Kodiak!"
What a beautiful turboprop plane!!
Great video. I love this plane.
Amazing video Charlie
You keep outdoing yourself sir!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate you saying so.
Man this looks like a winner being a Cessna Caravan fan.
What no one saw the come back?😂 being the coolest sounding plane on the ramp in Beta mode….Piaggio “hold my yoke”
Love to fly one someday!
“Voted most attractive pilot by wife” 😂 that’s amazing I love it
“Gettin’ on top never gets old.” Well said…..
This thing is sick! Drooling.
Thx, impressive 70 kn stall. So much stable. It's a good carrier for airtaxi. Your clients will like you at a smooth flight. 😊
Another nice high wing is the air van it’ll land 450 ft and stall around 50 mph and carry as many people and all with a fuel saving piston engine
And piston engine unreliability and short TBO.
That’s a dream plane for me. I live in Iowa and this thing would get me comfortably across the country.
It is an absolutely stunning aircraft. Great video
The Missionary Bush Pilot flies a Kodiak and it's a beast of a plane. He also makes landing on mountain tops in remote parts of New Guinea look easy.
Hey Charlie - We met at the luncheon at Addison the other week. Stopping by to say howdy and give kudos for an awesome vid showcasing one of my favorite airplanes. Really enjoyed watching it!
Thanks Clint! Great to meet you the other day, too!
That beta sound when taxiing... it's the plane chomping at the bit, it want to GOOOOO! ;-)
ha I instantly recognized that ramp space/FBO. Worked in Ops for 4 years at Meacham Airport. Think I have even seen that kodiak there before. Thanks for the video.
"Clear Prop" a little louder so those outside can hear.
That beast is impressive!
What an amazing plane cant wait to fly this later in life…
But what about your C182? With all of the fawning over the Kodiak, your 182 must feel like the 3rd Wheel!
Definitely an all-around outstanding airplane and it would be a dream for any general aviation pilot.
As always with so much utility and size the problem becomes the cost. Of course in aviation there's nothing that can be considered an expensive so at the end of the day if I could afford it I would definitely buy one
Unicorn means it is something i will never experience… 😉
But “reports from others” say it’s awesome ! Slow flight and stall characteristics look SWEET.
To me it means a miracle of engeering that I hope to get in a sim one day.
Sitting here watching and thinking what’s not to love about this plane then you said 64 gph
Turboprops best economy is around 30,000'.
But this airplane is not pressurized.
So, it is sub-optimal for efficiency.
Love this aircraft loved your commercial
I watched this plane at the Gaborone international airshow in 2013. It was impressive!
Very cool airplane!
Until I win the lottery, Sim flying a Kodiak is as close as I'll get. It shines even in simulation.

Big thanks to Mark and Charlie for the ride here. Great airplane !
"Booom!" Perfect!
Make a video comparing the sensation in flight compared to 182. Is it so much different in abilities necessary to flight?
Money can buy happiness if you spend it on one of these, beautiful plane. All i need now is money and friends 😂
Sounds like a decent sky diving aircraft.
I believe that I need one!!!
Nice!!!
Took the 100 series up a few times skydiving and even that was a blast.
It’s like a bus with wings😎
What is the stall speed? Sweet airplane and great video!
Beautiful plane, love the red with black interior
Wonderful plane 😮
Like you, I love my 182, but wow I love this aircraft too, for all the same reasons you do.
I'm going to have one of these one day!!! 😍
So it’s a Cessna Caravan that Kodiak looked at and said “I know exactly how to make this 100x better”
The payload capacity and performance at all speeds would make it a great SAR/Border Enforcement aircraft with a few optical pods and sensor operators.
You need to go fly an experimential Velocity pusher with the canards.
Lovely stall characteristics
She’s a beaut
Very nice indeed!
Great video! I need to get a contract job flying these! :D
@nikoswings this is better than an jet.
Dr Amir doesn’t think this is th best plane ever… he said th customer service is terrible as his brand new Kodiak began having issues !
As the saying goes : if it looks good it flies good !
amazing :)) .... no switching of the inertial separator needed ?
Very nice video and very gorgeous Kodiak 900 ! From where did you take off (rwy 34) ?
👏Great 👏
Flying with Rich had me sold on one of these months ago. I just need to come up with the millions to buy one.
This bird with floats would conquer Alaska!
Waiting for the detailed tour!! When can we see it?
Sweet, I want one!...
Awesome
What was you descent rate in the controlled stall? Amazing plane for sure. I now need to hit Powerball so I can buy one.
One day ❤
Awesome 😅
Sold! I'll take two.
If I were in the BBC I would be flying this daily.
I love the Kodiak, I think it's even better without the wheel pants. It just seems too big of an aircraft for wheel pants.
During the stall I take they were losing altitude even though they had aileron authority?
Now I need one…
Just for grins what are the inputs for Autopilot. How are the inputs administered?
Great video! Just wish she was affordable!
I am sold. Where can I pick one up? Great aircraft and great video!
