Couldn't agree more with the 2-shoe combo. Pegasus and Vaporfly is the best combo. But having less budget, I had the Pegasus and Zoomfly as my combo. Best shoes ever for me.
thats awesome combo to have pegs and zf, mine was lesser budget 2-shoe combo. i had the quest and zoomfly. start saving some money 💰 or is it okay with my combo ?
Getting my vaporflys for 140 and I got my peg 39s for 65 because of discount 😁 I’m so happy
I veel the same my shoe combo is the pegasus and vapourfly
hello I am a beginner runner from Indonesia who is just starting to enjoy running at this time and I really like the videos from your channel which are very helpful and very useful. continue to educate those of us who don't really know the world of running greetings healthy keep the spirit💪❤️
Most fun shoe I’ve ever run in is the Nike streakfly! I’m nowhere near an elite but the soft, natural ride makes it my favorite racer as a more short distance runner
Great video! My favourite running shoe is the Alpha Fly because of that cushion and return, keep it for race day and always feel amazing in it!
Great to see you back at it! Much respect.❤️
Good to see you back after UTMB with an very informative video! Gonna race the Vaporfly Next 2 on Oslo Half marathon next weekend. Most fun shoe. Its got to be the Adidas Adizero Adios 6. Got my 5 K, former Half Marathon pb and Hilly dirt/gravel road 10 K timetrial PB in it.
I have the Tempo Next%, Alphafly V1, and Vaporfly 2. The Tempo Next% are great as trainers (grippy, comfortable and in my opinion, handsome-looking runners), but the Alphafly 1 never fails to put a smile to my face. Very delightful and there is nothing else like it.
What about tempo next% durability?
Durability is worst of temp next trust me
I’ve been seeing those shoes all over RUclips
Awesome! Exactly what I needed before getting a new pair!
Thanks Ben for using the clip of me on the TM! (71 y.o.) My coach has me running lower volume than most runners-only 3-4x/week, and even in the peak of my marathon cycles I don’t exceed the 30’s (mpw). This program has been super successful for me personally, and I have had no severe injury since starting to run at age 58, though I didn’t get a coach until 2019. Since then I’ve done things I didn’t even know I’d want to do 😂 Cheers for all the great advice, Martha
Your running form is amazing Martha! So efficient.. it’s as if you’ve been running your whole life. Thank you for sending the clip in and telling your story here, it’s lovely to read and hear about. Wishing you all the best with your running into the future 🙌
My favorite shoe to run in was definitely the Hoka Mach 5s. It is so bouncy and the first run ever on them is a different experience
Enjoyed that Ben, nice video. Probably NB FCR 2 is a stand out “fun” shoe due to weight and soft midsole!
The most fun shoe for me is the Alphafly 1. I love it ! the only problem is the stability and the open upper wich is too thin for cold weather.
Honest review as always Ben, I love my Invincibles, great long run shoe!
Most fun probably still is the Valorfly for me! Bouncy, fast, playful ❤️
Amazing video, going to run half marathon soon and going to buy my shoes based off this. thanks for the overviews!
The most fun shoe for me has been the Novablast 1. Novablast 2s are comfy but a bit disappointing fun-wise. I will pick up the version 3s when I next need some running shoes.
I’m in the market for a new pair of running shoes that I can use in my first marathon. Really informative, nice one 👌🏻
I love the streakfly!! So fun, Nike says that its a 5-10k shoe, but I run 25k on it . It held up very good!!
Saucony Endorphin Speed 2. The best £93 I spent in 2022. I was pleasantly surprised by it during the Big Half.
Most fun for me has to be my Nike Vaporfly 2’s, but the Adidas Takumi Sen 8’s are worth an honourable mention 👊🏼
Best shoe I've ever run in to date is the v1 Alphafly! Hold all my PBs in them from 5k to marathon, not yet run in the v2 though so I'm hoping that when I do It's a good experience.
Loving Nike at the moment! Current rotation of the Vapourfly, Invincible & Peg 39 seems to have it all covered👌🏽
What do you used for intervals?
Nike is great. But why so much hate comment and review on Nike 😂😂 Nike didnt give money for Reviewer , or Non-Nike connent is more interest ?
I've always ran in Pegasus. I've got the peg 39's. I'm flat footed and have never had any issues but what are the vaporfly and invincibles like compared to how the peg 39 feels and fits
Most fun shoe I’ve ever run in is the Saucony Kinvara 13, very light weight, good energy return.
The most fun running shoes have to divided in before and after carbon Eras (in my opnion).... before carbon Era is Adidas Adios 4 and then in carbon Era is Puma Deviate Nitro Elite!!!! Amazing shoes!! I am now looking to add some Nike to my running :) Thanks for your help Ben, great video!
great explanations how you would use the shoes wow! great video
Great video Ben love you energy and positivity 🤙
Video production has gotten better over time. Well done
Most fun ? It used to be the Vaporfly, I had too much fun racing Strava Segments with them ;) Now, I would say Tempo Next because I can run like crazy and my feet never feel hurt. This being said, I've retried my Vaporfly after 1 year of training using mostly Tempo Next and I was a bit sad to realize the Vaporfly are not as bouncy as I remembered. I think I've been too spoiled with the Tempo Next. When you think about it, the Tempo Next has the highest stack height of all Nikes running shoes (not even legal for races). I have over 400km on my first pair of Tempo Next and they look like new and feel pretty much as bouncy as my newer pair. But well, I think it's great to have a variety of shoes and try different paces and running styles ;) I usually "agree" with your reviews ... the only one that I did not was the Invincible run, I tried it and decided to return it .. the upper was not enough breathable for my linking and it did stand out compared to all other 30 pairs I own. I guess it's a shoe more for longer easy runs and I run under 10km usually and mostly tempo runs so ...
Lovin all the content, thank you! On 🔥
It’s great that you mention drop measurement. Could you add shoe last type (curved, semi-curved, straight) and shoe width?
Good overview. Sad to admit got all of these :) Surprised your Peg Turbo Next Nature is heavier than the Peg 39 as mine is about 30g lighter in a UK 13 and lighter than everything bar the actual race shoes. As such has been doing a job for me. Another current road one I did a lot of miles in is the Vomero 16 which is quite like a Peg 39 although the ZoomX in it is less obvious than the racing shoes or Invincible but good if find the Invincible a bit too soft which I often do.
Really enjoy my endorphin speed 2. I get excited when I lace them up. ☺️
my most fun shoe to run in was the nike zoom vomero 14. Had it for a cross country season, and it was a great trainer
NB rebel v2 for me. Don’t run for time in this shoe, just for the absolute joy it brings me.
I have had the zoomfly 4 ediken for a long time now and i can tell you they dont feel heavy at all. Zoomflys have two carbon plates while the alpha, streak, vapor, alpha, tempo next fly all have three. I have used my zoomflys for cross country, triathalons, duathalons, 100m sprints and I can say they are the best shoe for the price.
My most fun shoe overall is the new balance lerato. Just the most comfortable shoe for easy days to daily training and casual. For actually running faster I'd pick the alphafly 2 closely followed by the Takumi Sen 8. Also for just a casual enjoyable run I love the rocket X, as it promotes such a natural running motion.
Pegasus 39 or new balance fuel cell for every day training and tempo runs and easy runs, which of the 2 would you choose
@@dnice362 saucony endorphin speed 3 if I was looking for one shoe to do it all.
I have the tempo and I love it! The energy return is incredible and I have loved doing some road running in it!
Very helpfull video, will probably buy the Vaporfly next% 2 and the Pegasus 39
As a support shoe wearer, saucony Tempus is a game changer ! Absolutely love it
most fun shoe i've run in got to be the mach 5. I ran in pegasus 37 & 38 previously but the mach 5 is so comfortable that I don't feel tired after running in it. I really want to try the novablast 3 though!
Hoka Rocket X is my most fun shoe. Light, fast, and they look so good!
I was searching for these content thanks
I have a bad back that prevents me from running at all in most shoes, but my god, the invincible run’s COMPLETELY stop all pain. They are just incredibly soft and squishy, ive never felt anything like it before.
thank you this has been helpful!
Brooks Hyperion Tempo is a great and fun plateless shoe, IMHO the best tempo shoes for training out there for anything below 10 miles.
That said, my current rotation is Nike Invincible FK 2 for Easy and Recovery Days (even long easy runs), Brooks Hyperion Tempo for speedwork (usually once a week), either Saucony Ride 15 for Long Runs or back to the Invinicible, and only on very specific Long Threhsold or Tempo runs I run on the VF 2.
My favourite is my Vibram Five Fingers V-Run shoes. No cushioning or support or weird bells and whistles. They are very light and feel like a sock.
The most fun shoe was definitely the mizuno enerzy concept shoe because of its comfort and look. I would say it may even be more comfortable than zoom x
Saucony endorphin speed! Love the feeling with Nylon plate on that shoe. The bounce and energy return makes you want to go faster…..
I am loving the ASICS Novablast 3 for daily trainer. Love my alpha fly next% 2 when I want to go fast. Altra lone peak 6 for trail running.
The fastest show that I ever ran with were probably my first meaningful training and racing shoes back in school. These were the "Nike Zoom All Out Flynit (Race Blue)". I got these for Christmas and I legit slept with them at first haha. Back in the day when Nike Air Zoom tech was THE THING. Such a fun shoe, soft enough for long run/ 10ks, Bouncy enough and fun enough for interval work. I'm not sure why Nike isn't making these anymore, such a fast, fun, and bouncy shoe.
Novablast 2 and hopefully the Novablast 3 which eill arrive next week. What a great and fun shoe. Noosa 14 also a great shoe. Asics is possibly the brand of the year
Yes i do use alphafly in shorter runs like 5k to 10k. i’m a triathlete so i run 5k to 10k after 20km bike alphafly keeps my legs fresh all through out
Most fun? Easily the Novablast 1's. Trampoline-like for the first couple hundred miles if a bit unstable. Kind of like taming a wild horse 🐎 . Stability increased as the miles clocked up.
I really like the Hoka Mach 5. It does put a smile on my face but I recently bought the invincible 2 and I agree that it is a fun shoe to run in. I believe you can get the invincible 2 for $144 on running warehouse. Thanks for sharing!!
i just got a pair of invincibles for $110
I love running in the hoka Mach 5 and New Balance beacon 3 as a runner with wide feet they both have wide options and are great 1/2 to 10k sneakers I haven’t run a more then 1/2 in Mach 5 yet but beacon 3 seems to lose it bounciness after 10 to 13 miles legs start to feel heavy
Poor Vomero! Haha such an overlooked (and great! Shoe) class content as always
I enjoyed several versions of this model, my 14 is on 1371Km at the moment and it really needs replacing 😅
When it comes to fun, I love me a zero drop shoe like Altra Torins. Yes, they will wreak havoc on your calves on 30+ kilometre runs, but for shorter easier runs, or even hikes and walkabouts, they really do feel like they can do anything and go anywhere. The Vaporfly/Alphafly cold be considered my funnest shoe if it wasn't for the lingering fear of rolling your ankle on some patchy roadwork, something you will not fear in a much more stable shoe like the Torins.
Zero-drop shoes will do nothing bad to your calves or anything else. My longest runs (50+) were in zero-drop shoes (Merrell Rubato). You're just used to shoes with heels which have wreaked havoc on your gait.
@@weuek zero drop puts more strain on your calves, that’s an objective provable fact, not opinion. I’ve been running on them for years. I can manage my long runs fine in them but to say they don’t tire my calves out more than my 10mm drop Asics Glideride is silly.
@@indorock They do, but it's possible for any calves to get used to them. The gliderides put more strain on the knees, which is also a disadvantage.
BTW, Asics seems to lie about the drop in the glideride series, if you trust the methodology of RunRepeat.
Great review of all the different models! My midfoot is too tight/narrow in most Nike's, very hard to find a good pair of shoes...
Try half a size up tempo.. It's really comfy.. I have wide foot too
The show I had the most fun in was the New Balance MT 110 models back in 2011/12. With the rock plate on the bottom
Most fun shoe for me was Nike Zoom Marathoners- I think Paul Radcliffe ran in them. Sadly discontinued. - around 2007? They were great but did have a hot spot for me on the in step.
Saucony Endorphin Speed 2. Comfy and fast. The perfect mix for me.
thanks for the video, very usefull
my favourite race shoe is the Vaporfly 2, Use Brocks glycerin for my training shoe
Agree 💯% to combo peg 39 ft vaporfly 2.... i done combo & superb result i already maked✊️
Top fun shoes: Brooks Hyperion Tempo for training and Vaporfly for racing
Vaporfly next 2, can't get enough of it
i like the peg next nature for fartlek runs it feels great at fast and slow pace
exactly the video I was looking for
Saucony endorphin speed 2 - pushes you on without the effort love it
Great video Ben. What shoe would you recommend for an over pronater who is training for a marathon?
Most fun shoe for me till now was Adidas Bounce EQ 21. But now going for Pegasus
The Tempo gave me the worst shin splints I had since my days of marching drills. I am really enjoying all of Puma's new shoes the Nitro foam is really working for me. Hope your knee is feeling better
Do an updated list for New Balance when the new versions come out and you get some run time on them.
I have Vaporfly Next% and Zoom Invincible II as my two go-to’s.
The very first Nike epic react always felt perfect for my feet
invincible team 💪🏻+750 km with them, almost 0 worn signs.
i wish the next version will have even more zoomx, like 50-42mm or even more
Mine is the decathlon KD800 because it’s really comfortable and it has a plastic plate so it’s really responsive too.
The only shoe I've ever had fun in was a mid 1980s Nike Air Pegasus with the visible air cushion in heal.
Puma deviate nitro 1 and 2, just find they do a bit of everything and do it all quite well, the 2 especially really does have some speed to it when you want it to.
Most fun shoe for me so far: Hoka One One Mach 4
My pegasus 36 trail are still my go to. Gave a go to the arahi 5 but they had major durability issues. I'm still looking for a daily trainer that can handle light trails as well. Any advice?
Qotd: Hoka Mach 4, super bouncy and soft. Just rolls so smooth.
I enjoyed the Reebok real flex. Got me through shin splints several years back
I find that my favorite shoe changes every few weeks! I will say that I was pretty sad today that when I put a hole in the upper of my Atreyu Artists.
I have the Pegasus 39s, Vaporfly and invincibles and agree with everything Ben said about them. The invincibles are definitely the most fun, and so squishy. I bought them to be my long easy run shoe. Sadly they rub the ball of my foot under my big toe on my right foot (my Hoka Clifton 8s rubbed here too) and they’re too uncomfortable beyond 10k, so they are a rather expensive recovery day shoe now! I always buy my Nikes in the sale and got the invincibles for under £100 and the Vaporfly next%2s for £104!!
*Wow such a STEAL DEAL! 🤩*
Wow where do you look for such deals?
Smile on my face : 1st time running in my Vaporflies, 1st time running in my Endorphin pro 3 (favorite shoe in my rotation so far)
Can't figure out the Alphafly... doesn't work for me at all... got 60k in and it has been accumulating dust ever since
Adidas Terrex Speed Ultra, most expensive pair I've ever bought but worth it 1000 times over, did my first ultra in them and haven't worn them since, might get them framed...
How’s the knee Ben? Wish fast recovery! 💪🏼
My uk 9 streakfly are 147 grams, it’s insane! Thats why i use it for my travels, easy to wear on long walks and airports 😂
Most fun shoe was the new balance fuel cell rebel V2, unfortunately it only lasted 200k until the upper mesh was ripped..
At this moment i think it is the saucony speed 2
Most fun for me, still is, Nike Tempo Next%
Mexican greetings! Just bit the bullet and bought some Vaporflys and the Tempo...I'm 43 and looking to take care of my legs, so I have a couple of questions :)
1. Any recommendations on how to take care of the Tempo's so I don't pop the pods?
2. What other 2 shoes would you recommend that I get into that 2 shoes rotation?
Thanks and as soon as I finish my first marathon on the 22 of this month, I'll start your beginners plan :)
Most my runs consist of 4-6 sets of 2/3 minute max intensity runs. Most I’ll ever really run is around 7km. What do you think the best shoe is for this type of running.
For people in the states, I was able to get the alphafly 1 for $127 at a Nike outlet. So check there if you can.
Would you say the vaporfly 2 is the best or one of the best 5k race shoes? I recently did my xc season opener in the alphafly 1 and it felt nice. I have seen reviews about the alphaflys 2 but decided it would be too heavy for a 5k. So now I am deciding whether to stick to the alphaflys 1 or go for the vaporflys 2🤔
Pegasus 39 and Vaporfly Next 2% here. Super happy :)
Does Nike do a stability shoe? I typically run in Saucony Guide / Hoka Arahi / Brooks Adrenaline GTS - any Nike model you’d recommend? Really appreciate your thoughts.
If you had to run non stop for as long as possible, what shoe would you use?
Like slow ultra distance. Maximum foot protection?
How do you find your invincible run 2’s hold up? I’ve seen a lot of people saying the sole separates very easily despite the low miles they run in it
The most fun i ran with is the Nike Zoom air peagasus 39:) I just got it:)
