I wholeheartedly agree with everything you say. IMO the best way to place rally is just to place it in a house or somewhere a little hidden, even by a bush and move on, don't waste more time, you have a place to storm!! Also the best way to screw your entire team is to place a rally on the upper floors of a building as the AI will take a long time going down or get completely stuck. Even worse, placing your rally in a spot only reachable with a ladder...
Most tips are on point, I'd say, but others just aren't, or are sidegrades at most, so I'll add a few points: - Shovels: Having shovels in your squad means that you can't sprint with axes, this is quite a downside considering that right at the start of the battle, or as soon as you respawn, you want to be moving quickly with your engineer to place more rallies and overall it's a good mobility to have for every soldier. Another issue, you can't dig on city maps, and, digging is MUCH slower than building 2 sand bags, as well as having to waste perk points on the useless melee attack speed. - Sandbags: I get your point about being easy to find rallies if they are covered with sandbags in the open, but the thing is, the sound they make already makes them easy to find, if you place sandbags and an anti personal mine on top of the rally, the enemies will have to get right next to them to shoot (unless they are willing to waste a grenade) and they'll die to the mine, rally protected and free kill. Second, gives them better protection against random explosives and arty. The best scenario is to build the rally with natural cover against the enemy spawn, so it can't be seen from afar and also requires the enemy to get close and a higher chance of getting pick by random friendlies, or triggering a mine. Win-win.
I haven't seen this mentioned here. If you press the contextual squad command button (the same you use to tell them to stay somewhere) whilst looking at a structure that is not yet built, other engies in your squad will join you in hammering it up, i reccomend pressing the button as many times as the number of engineers currently alive, so their dumbasses dont get confused for 1.5 seconds. Useful for rallies or gun emplacements. If you press it on an already built structure, allied or enemy, any squadmembers will attempt to deconstruct it at their own pace. If you change soldiers after giving the order it "wears off" but obviously you dont lose progress on said structures. Niche but it works well.
When I build rally inside of a house, I build sandbags as well just in case enemy throws grenade inside of the building. Or you know those filthy grenade launcher spammers. Can help too. I said CAN, not WILL xD anyway good video dude!
@@EnlistedBombin I have few soldiers equiped with grenade launchers, but I do not spam them. I use them only against tanks when I do not have any other explosives, or against larger group of enemies or buildings. So I use them quite rarely. I do not like having 9 men rifle squad and all of them equiped with 2 launchers for extra ammo. It is just stupid imo
I can’t believe you didn’t mention AP mines. They have been nerfed but are still the most effective way to defend rallies&objectives. Counter mining rallies is the most important tactic to prevent enemies from blowing you up when you spawn on a rally point.

@@jasonlin9805 agreed. while i didn't like that they were being used against infantry to devastating effect, they feel incredibly useless against planes. we need faster rotation, further spotting, higher ammo counts, SOMETHING to make it easier to get planes.
I wish people dug when placing ralleys close, i began with the habit of digging holes or trenches for ralleys when i see the team is having a hard time pushing. Crazy amounts of times they have changed the tide & match’s momentum
I've played games where my ally put barbed wire on rally point. Barbed wire. At these times, I wanted there to be a system of expulsion from the match by voting.
I did find burying a rally in hedges, bushes and just blending in with the environment helps I placed a rally by those trucks with a tone of crates and i saw two player ran past it
Great Video! I'm a firm believer in having at least 1 engineer in every squad in the number one position. I consider Engineers my Squad leader and they have a huge impact on how the game goes with being able to open up flanks and direct the flow of battle. As for Sand bags, if you are to sand bag your rally, don't fully enclose it. Set that final sandbag a little away so the AI can get out with a path. I most often set that being closest to the friendly line. Going to start digging them primarily though.. .great tip! I predominately sand bag them to protect from splash and an easy long distance snipe.
reason i build sandbags is to protect them 1 time from air plane bombs unless if there's a dirt to find i dig a hole in it for safe measures. what's even more annoying is that some new players tend to put their rallies on 2nd or attic floor in normandy or high BR building maps, which is why the ai pathing of our units gets crazier when they try attempt to move out.
One thing I'd used to see, but not so much anymore, is people making rallies surrounded by sandbags and BARBED WIRE. Why on earth would you put barbed wire around your own team's spawn point?!
What if our objective is to actually troll our incompetent team mates by purposely building sandbags around a rally point and then placing wires outside? 😆
Before a patch (cant remember which) it was much easier when digging to provide a level surface. Seriously it was look down dig twice and build, now you have to spend a considerable amount of time to level the surface
And then theres my ass doing no engeniring and still getting over 120 kills and top 1( sometimes top 5 , acsualy thats the lowest ive ever been ) in all my games and yet the people that do the engeniring do it to stupidly that if you spawn on there rally points youre getting instantly moved down by mmg or granades flying around

That grenade launch spam is terrible, there are guys who duel arm 2 nade rifles just to be extra..

Sandbag rallies are much quicker to construct and climbing out of a pit rally is kinda a pain in the ass
