Looks like y’all have a great family. Making awesome memories. Strong gal there to be packing all that weight on her back and not afraid to get her hands dirty! 👊
Thank you so much! We are super fortunate to be able to spend so much time together in the mountains 🙏🏼😊 And yes! Alyssa is a stud! She’s a taxidermist too, so not only does she pack stuff out, she mounts the especially memorable animals for me lol 😊🙌🏼
Fun hunt, thanks for sharing! Alyssa knows how to hunt! Been taking my daughters hunting for years now and show them videos with strong women like her to give them a point of reference and a talent to admire and work towards!
It was awesome to meet you guys on the archery this year. Super stoked for your success on the rifle! Great work and an awesome memory for you all together!
As always awesome. I enjoy every minute of your adventures like I always say. Keep having fun and hope you get tags anywhere you want to go. God bless again
I love this finally a realistic all the way to the part where he says he’s shaky. Just like me still after all the bucks I’ve got I still get the shakes. Great video
Thank you so much!! 😊 it’s so enjoyable to be able to hunt with family! Haha yes! I get the after shakes bad and we like to give Jasons dad a hard time about his shakes, he has benign trembling and sometimes when it’s mixed with excitements it’s pretty bad 😂👍🏼
Thank you so much! It’s a challenge to film when your also trying to watch and keep an eye on the buck that someone else is going to take a shot at, so we didn’t do the best job with getting footage of the deer 😬 lol we really appreciate you taking the time to leave a nice comment! It sure feels good to have our freezer full again ☺️
Love the hunting videos. Love the vlog type videos that show all parts of the hunt. I’d love to see more recipes of how you guys utilize your game meat.
Fantastic, authentic! Enjoyed watching this! Especially Tom being shaky.. it's just something you can't avoid sometimes. And good teamwork on the follow-up with the second buck! Great country for Deer!
First time watching you guys. Nice video. I don’t think you gave too much info. If you’re from that area, maybe you recognize it. But, if a person has to analyze a video to find a hunting spot then they’re probably not much of a threat to begin with. It’s not like you gave coordinates. Nice to see another gal hunting and getting into every part of the process 👍
@@katherine5293 thanks for watching!! Exactly, if you’ve been there then you already know that area and are probably hunting there anyways. Besides, this was the best buck we’ve ever pulled out of this area (Jason’s Buck in episode 2) so if you’re looking for a better buck you’d do best to go elsewhere anyways 😅😅😅 Oh man I absolutely love hunting. Every part of it! I’m a full time taxidermist and we live off of wild game. Getting our meat from the mountains is definitely a big part of our lives. Thanks for tuning in and leaving a nice comment! ☺️ -Alyssa
It's awesome to see your channel grow! Every time you post a new video your subscriber count is higher. Congratulations on another great video and the hunt.
I shoot a 7mm mag and I 've had it 42 years and I made a tube about 8 inches long out of a paper towel tube that slips ove my scope when looking into the sun. I flatened it then camo taped it so when flat it's easy to carry, when needed just open it up slide it onto your scope and letting it stick out about 4inches it works perfect and last about 3 to 4 yrs you can use it on your binos too if you close one eye. Love to see the inlaws in the hunts I love how happy the dog was too see you too. I loved the sheep hunt too I know how hard it is to be out there for about 5 days and knowing how tired and sore you are thinking I've still got to make this up and down packout yet in the future, but the joy of the moment when sucessfull recharges the batterys. Great stuff, let's see the training of the poke a dot princess, she is sweet natured not just a looker like Alysha, you might remember month's ago I asked if she had a sister, but I was just kidding. I don't miss any of your videos just enjoying your lives together, Perfect.
That’s such a great tip! Thank you for sharing 😊🙌🏼 And yes, finding success on those long tough hunts is incredibly rewarding! We will definitely have some new Josey videos coming soon! She’s a little rockstar, and she’s growing like a weed right now 😊🙌🏼
What is the bino harness you are wearing that is attached to your exo pack i had one for my badlands set up but switched to exo love just cant find a harness that attaches to shoulder straps
@@wacyslaugh1572 yeah it’s awesome! It’s made by FHF gear. You also need to order the pack adapter kit so you can run it off of your pack straps. I absolutely love it!! 👍🏼

At about 33:25; that leg sticking up reminds me of that movie "Red" with Bruce Willis where the "English" female character was scoping a shot and had her leg up like that. Her "Russian admirer" was scoping out her shooting posture? Well; it was cute anyway.
Great video it looked pretty strenuous how old is Tom what do you do with the heads Was that this year where'd all the burning come from and why does it seem to draw the dear in Great shooting by the way how far was each days hike thanks kray
Thank you Kray! Dad is 68 years old and going strong 😊🙌🏼 We usually keep the horns somewhere we can see them to remind us of the hunt. When we get something really outstanding or unique, Alyssa will mount it and we’ll keep it in the house, but most our horns are in the barn or they’re outdoor decorations 😊 The hunt was just last week, but I’m guessing the burn was from about 10 years ago. Burns make great habitat for deer because they allow shrubs and forms to grow and deer love ‘em 😊. The first day dad and Alyssa hiked about 5 miles. We did 3 or 4 on day two and about 4 on the last day when Alyssa got her buck. Thanks for watching and asking fun questions! 😊
“AUTOMATIC THUMBS DOWN”: I like watching peoples hunting/fishing videos, but this one gets an automatic thumbs down because you mention details about the location. I’m glad you’re promoting hunting in a positive light, but nothing should be mentioned about where it is taking place, even the state, regardless which state it is. When any details are mentioned about location, that will unnaturally draw more people to certain places outside of the normal rhythm. New/seasoned hunters coming on the scene need to do their own homework on where to focus their efforts. No details need to shared about the location, period. We can see you’re outdoors and that’s good enough. Even if no details were mentioned in this video, I have really high odds of guessing the zone and quite possibly the unit just based on what I can see.
I totally understand your sentiment. It’s the Information Age and it’s getting easier and easier to learn new skills. Tags are getting more difficult to obtain out west (where we live and hunt) because of it. But I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing… the more people that learn about our hunting traditions, the better in my opinion. I think a high barrier of entry will only keep new people out and our way of life will slowly get chipped away at by non hunters- just like what’s happening in Colorado. That being said, we don’t want to blow up anyone’s spots- certainly not our own. 😊 Bucks like these are nothing special and they’re literally found across the whole state of Idaho. many areas have bigger deer and higher deer numbers than where we were hunting near Jerusalem Valley.
@@MTN_BUILT Thanks for the response back, you’re the first to do so. I’ve been voicing my concerns to several personalities out there about this issue because I do think it has unintended impacts when it comes to crowding and it’s a very debatable topic. Holistically, I agree with what you’re saying. I just think all of that can be done without being overly forthcoming with information and I would like to see our online hunting community to rethink how we share our experiences. And I’ll leave it at that. Otherwise, good job on your content production.
Thank you! I do understand what you’re saying and it’s something that Alyssa and I will pay attention to and continue to assess. We want to help new hunters and also help get people excited for their upcoming hunts, but we don’t want to blow up spots either. Good luck on your hunts and thanks again for your input. It has value, for sure. 😊
