I love how Nick always gives his best despite his age.
Joey Moore Pun intended?
That why he’s called nick best
I see what you did there
Any man who is in the WSM is giving it their best... What a stupid comment
@@chriswelcome8102 I mean yea your right, I'm sorry. this was a stupid comment.
History Channel: "Don't try this at home"
Me: *Looks out of window at Viking boat.
Me: :(
How am I supposed to be a true swed if I dont go down to the docks on a daily and pull a boat...
@@Plague_Doc22 swedistan
@@Plague_Doc22 Just do it then, atleast pull a car for starters. or is even that considered fascist there wherein a native Swed exercising his strength is considered as intimidating the 'peaceful community'. I Don't know much
well there goes my afternoon
Well to be honest they also had massive trees they would have tho move in front of the ship as it moves but they were many vikings on one ship. But we Swedes have high pain tolerance and athletic genes becouse of our tough climate not only from raiding but just from hunting and living in general.
Oberst: Eddie is like a 4th grader.
Oberst again: screaming USA! USA! taunting eddie in front of his face. 🤣
Df O gotta love these two strong idiots 😂
Eddie: *l o v e l y*
@RaozSkillz tell that to every runner in the world.
What’s your emergence?
He's a 2nd grader
Eddie: *breathes*
Oberst: "so me and Eddie have been rivals for a long time"
Samuel Semerau underrated comment
Lol I noticed that in every single video, they have to include a clip of them talking about their rivalry. Otherwise there's just not enough drama for reality TV.
I still enjoy this, though.
😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
MJ: I took it personally
Ye I think eddie solidly won that lol.
Considering nick is 50 years old!! I must say he deserves some respect.
l totally agree
definitely, a lifetime if lifting isnt kind on your body.
hes too weak and old shouldn't be on the programme
@@michaelscott1401 it's still very impressive that he was able to even move that thing he's FAR past his prime
He’s insane!
I know he's not an actor but imagine Brian Shaw playing King Pin in a spiderman movie
wrong voice for the part
Yeah his voice is too nice sounding haha
Perfect.
Young ADV you never know some king pins can have nice voices to fool people and once they take them for weak they crush them
If he had like...Eddie's voice then yes
Inside their arms are just smaller strongmen.
Omg!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's awesome lol
Midget strongmen in the biceps
@@delajny9567 Hodně
@@kubahavlicek1933 😂😂
Nick: I'm not that tall...
Also Nick: is 188cm, 6 foot 2.
Eh, they fluff an inch tho. Judging by him standing next to 6'-2" Eddie, he's maybe 6'-1" tops. That's a bit short for strongmen I think.
Joseph Summers Eddie is 6-3
@@josephsummers2427 I'm pretty sure he lost an inch and a half when he broke some of his bones.
@@Hymn645 Eddie is not 6'3, he is maybe 6'2 at most.
Watch europe strongman 2017 there nick listed as 6'
Glad Brian won he's such a gentle giant and a nice guy. It's almost like he has to force himself to not be humble.
He actually does have to force himself not to be humble
Met him at Mohegan Sun a few years ago he was eating at Michael Jordans and I gave him a thumbs up through the window. He saw me and waved me in. When I walked up to his table he I shook his hand it felt like I was shaking hands with a guy wearing a catchers mit.
Nick was right, height and weight are everything for this challenge, so naturally Brian annihilated it.
Right? Brian 6'-8", 440 lbs. And hes used to pulling things. Next biggest guy Oberst was maybe 6'-6", 390 lbs when this aired.
Joseph Summers however he got the same time as Eddie who's "only" 6'3. Don't know his weight tho
@@eddysmith5137 I'd guess he's around 340-360 lbs, idk when it was recorded but from watching his videos that's the weight he was at around winter time if i'm not mistaken
TRippey T Eddie’s dropped a lot of weight recently and isn’t training like he used to. 2017 Eddie would probably have been at least some competition for Brian.
@@AlbieLudiScoffi You're right, Eddie's a beast to be honest
1:28 “I’m not that big I’m not that heavy” dude your voice is heavier than my whole body weight
Vladimir Putin bro that hit lower than my balls
yeah but brian and robert both have a hundred pounds and 6 inches on him, eddie was way bigger too just can't find his weight here cause he lost so much
Eddie isn't even training to compete these days and he's still a beast!
i think you need to watch his latest video. he talks about how big and strong he is right now. lol
MattIsVicious he’s cutting at the moment he dropped from 30 stone so he’s not as strong as he used to be. At full weight and peak he would give Brian a decent challenge at this event
MattIsVicious he said he feels strong just now but he also said he is going to get some propper training in and put on some size and strength in the next few months hahaha
Oberst didn't cross the line . Biggest cheat
You don't need to train to compete he is training
Oberst: I’m the American monster
Brian: Hold my protein shake
*atlas stone
Nick is like the older brother, Brian is the middle child with good genetics and Robert and Eddie are like twins that argue all the time about who’s better
Robert: Eddie is like a 4th grader.
Same guy: USA, USA, USA!!!!
Ayele Matthias were the qbs at
He only said that bcoz it was insulting to Eddie
😂😂😂😂😂
I knew without a doubt in my mind that Brian would win that awesome 😁
Yeah because he's by far the heaviest. Ed was competitive and has beat Brian in pulls two or three times when his bodyweight was the same.
stefl14 I wouldn’t say by far the heaviest, but he heaviest for sure
Joe M. Salazar Brian is I think close to 70lb heavier
The Hamburgler but still way larger then 99% of the population lol
Joe M. Salazar if you are heavier than that or come close that is not good because most people that heavy aren’t pure muscle
Bryan Shaw is literally the dad of the group and Eddie and oberst are like the children and the dynamic is amazing
Nick is the dad and Brian is the older brother.
Nick: I'm 50 I'm too old for this
Robert: I WIN USA USA
Eddie: typical American screaming cause he thinks he won
Brian: well that was a nice warm up
Gosh I would love to meet Brian someday. So soft-spoken and gentle yet one of the strongest to ever walk on face of Earth.
Would have been interesting to see how long it took with all 4 of them
David McLean I'd imagine just over 10 seconds
It would just be a brisk walk pace
It would be like the old days...bunch of hulking giant men towing a massive viking ship to the nearest river
Kinda wanted to see a team pull, how fast could they move it together.
Seeing as how Brian alone did it in 44 seconds, I'd guess 15 seconds.
Would love to see them pull in the WAL
That would be amazing, please make it happen!
3:06 he pushed the cone so dude would have to go further lol
Also eddie: It’s nowhere near.
Nick doesnt need to be ashamed at all. Also, he said hes not that heavy, hes 6'2 and 320, that may be smaller than the others, but hes not small, and he absolutely deserves respect.
Yes and his squat is still world class (for powerlifting).
@@markuspalmqvist3692 Indeed. He also holds the record for hip lifts, with 2500 lbs.
For those unfamiliar with these monsters, check out Brian Shaw's channel to watch the hilarious antics that the gang get up to.
*someone's first time in Brian's channel*
What they expect:
*mass monsters doing incredible lifts every second*
What actually happens:
*medicine ball to the face*
These guys are a lot of fun.
These guys have been doing a lot of Viking strength challenges on HISTORY. Would be pretty great to see them cameo in the final season of Vikings that's on HISTORY.
Theres a reason they save Brain for the end
Hes without a doubt the strongest man alive right now, with or without the 2019 title.
thor would like a word with u
Or because he is the best truck puller of the 4, especially now Eddie has lost lots of weight.
@@1345-m9s thor only gets to wsm status about 2 months to a month before the competition, for just pure power all the time and natural ability you cant beat brian.
Eddie hall is I think
@TTCGamer Brian's 7 years older than Hafthor. He only had 1 title when he was Hafthor's age so your point is completely irrelevant
Lmao knew from the beginning Brian had this one in the bag the guy is a monster 👍
When I was a little kid I remember watching my dad who i thought was the strongest man in the world push a stuck car from of that very same parking lot
My parents would take us kid to visit the Hjemkomst Center for the day. Great old memories brought back from 25 plus years ago from seeing this episode
My dad was no small guy at 6’6 and over 300 pounds, my family came from Norway back in the day.
Nick is definitely the strongest since HES 50 AND STILL PUSHING. Brian may be the strongest but hes in his prime.
Brian’s 37? Hardly his prime lol
- Lying in the ground breathless-
THIS IS THE IMAGE OF A CHAMP
I mean, lets be real we all knew Bryan was winning this without even watching it.
Nick Best, Mark Felix, Terry Hollands. Age is just a thing. These guys are proper dedicated to the craft and that's why they still around. Mad props
Despite Nick's age, he still doing this
& most importantly
never give up.
Huge Respect for him.
&
❤all 4 of them.
3:08 - 3:12: Anyone else notice Eddie moving the cone (? marking the finish line) back and forth
Poor Nick...he comes in last a lot...but he's also the lightest and the oldest...and still has super human strength!
He also has a world record and a joint world record, too. He's great!
Ahh yes, steel trailers... my favorite natural viking artifact.
How long you want it to be? They dont have time to lay a series of logs down as they pull it (thats how they moved big things back then).
@@Vanlifecrisis They don't have time to put logs down, but they have time to get a life sized Viking boat replica?
Don't be disappointed, Nick. We're all so impressed and we love you.
Robert: WOOHOO I'M A WINNER USA USA USA I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD
Robert: Eddie's like a fourth grader
In terms of physics, I can’t even imagine how hard this feat of strength is. The heavy ship, slightly inclined course, cold weather, plus the coefficients of static and kinetic friction. Sheesh.
4:20
I laughed so hard!!!!
When Obie mocks Eddie, I knew that behind their strong bodies they have a pure heart like kids.
This show is awesome. Hope they keep it coming!
The regular person probably won’t understand how impressive it was for Nick to pull in almost 2 minutes. That’s like sprinting all out pretty much
Brian was so late it was actually summer before he arrived.
Tore my quad, tore my acl, broke my back, twisted my ankle, tore my bicep, dislocated my shoulder, just watching
Great job Brian. It was obvious that you where going to smash that event.
3:07 and 3:11 nick tryna sneak that cone kick closer for Obie hahahaha
Isnt eddie basicly retired?, yet he still got that time
Frank Hoog He is and lost a bunch of weight. In 2017 at his peak he beat Brian at the plane pull at WSM
Frank Hoog Eddie said in 2016 that after he won a WSM title he would be retiring unless somebody beat his 500 kg deadlift (in which case he would start training again and attempt to beat their record).
pretty much retired from competition but keeping the strongman diet so he can still do things like this. Plus he is going all out on bench right now
With Nick doing what he does at his age, he deserves respect, not shame
How could you have a group of Strongmen pull a Viking ship without Thor!?
Wheels....the mechanical advantage of the wheels. With those 5 wheels on there the ACTUAL force to move that boat would only be around 2000 to 3000 lbs.
Eddie tries to move the cone at 3:06 probably bc he knew it was so close lul
2:01 “you got 5 feet lets go lmao dead 😂😂😂
I watched a Netflix show where it took 10 people to pull a ship a quarter this size, granted it was a little bit farther and in sand but the fact that these men pulled it by themselves is so mind blowing
Nick: I'm not that big.
Me: O.o
Oberst: Me and eddie have been rivals for a long time now
Eddie: *Smokes him at literally everything*
Man I would have liked to see prime Mariusz Pudzianowski in this show as well. His charisma would go well with these guys.
Martins would have been good too, funny dude. I cant wait for his China video.
@pan peter there's actually a few videos of Martins pulling. And a fire truck to be specific. Check the Arnold qualifier.
This is what a champion looks like
All these dudes are incredibly strong and ive kinda been following for awhile. I know Eddie has lost weight and not doing the strongman stuff like he use to. But It's pretty amazing watching Brian go last every time. It's like they know hes going to beat w.e by alot. Ive only seen 6 or 7 of these videos so it might not be true. Just kinda nuts how he performs. They all are beast
I love how supportive they are of each other.
Did anyone else see Nick Best kick that cone so Oberst could win?
Eddie kicked it more forward so nick kicked it back
Now that's a Viking reunion. LOL
Brian should have tossed a medicine ball at Eddies face during that pull for payback, LOL... ( It's on Brian channel for those who are curious what I'm talking about )
This was filmed way before that. Right after the Arnold actually
Major props to all these guys but especially to Nick who, without doubt, could beat 99% of people half his age.
How does that tiny incline make the ship from 12,000 lbs to 60,000 lbs???
I think the 60,000 lbs was a bit exaggerated.
Apart from 60,000lbs being exaggerated most likely they also don't tell you the enormous mechanical advantage those five wheels yield. Mechanical advantage of a wheel and axle is equal to the wheel's radius divided by the axle's radius. Estimating that value and multiplying it by 5 (5 wheels) the actual force needed to move that "60,000lbs" boat is probably only around 2000 to 3000 lbs.
i actually don't think Eddie and Robert like one another. but they have each others respect. which is way more important than "liking" one another.
I have noticed the strongest men in the world are quite strong
he is undefeated until the The mountain does it. True Viking
These big dudes are the cutest bros in history
Rare footage of Brian arriving before Eddie.
Is that a viking ship pulling world record?
Watch him kick the cone closer @ 3:10. Very competitive but such gentlemen. That's commendable. We should all be that way
Nick Best has been really falling behind the others in general. He's getting too old to compete with the younger guys, I think.
Mordecai heck no nick has been awesome so he lifted 2,000 pounds in england against bryan, lifted the 1400 pounds log and has beat the guys in a couple things
@@rubensalcedo6046 I think he has the most DNFs though, as in he Ould not complete the challenge because he doesn't want to risk hurting himself or he got gassed early on in the competition. I'm not saying that he is out of the fight yet but he is getting passed up in regards to stamina and risk factor. Would you agree?
Mordecai that i can agree, Also we need To see that he is 50 years old and the shortest of the group, i would have loved To see nick best at his prime against this guys, i think nick at his prime was stronger than oberst and hall
@@mordecairaysor9483 Well the injury factor goes up massively once you go past 35...regardless of how strong you are, you're wearing out hte body each year and these guys do it at a much higher rate due to the things they do.
Lol what? Brian and Hall are 2 of the strongest humans to ever live. So because he can't hang with those 2 while weighing almost 100 pounds less he's getting too old? Millenials are a whacky bunch
I love how even the other strongest men in the world are amazed by Brian's phreakish strength
Season 2: Thor, Licis, Mateusz, and Larry Wheels
eddie saying lovely in that brit accent really cracked me up mad lmaoooooooooooooo
*Bryan can lift Thor’s hammer*
Me: you wanna lift some weights?
Brian: nah I think I'll just pull a Viking boat
Oberst you didn't win your body didn't cross the line . Typical American cheater . Also Eddie didn't nearly pass out but then Eddie is stronger than you
"If the Vikings were puling boats with me, we would be late to invade Britain" Brian Shaw, Jul 24, 2019.
Jokes aside, much love to you four, love the content!
I love that this clip keeps in their natural banter and them encouraging one another during each other's pulls.
WSM & the Atlas Stones made me a fan of Strongman as a kid.. Seeing where it is today is amazing 💯
What I’ve noticed is that Brian’s the strongest eddies the most explosive/best athlete
Oberst is in between them and nick is them in the future
Yep agree...Eddie is so explosive that's why he is probably the best at static exercises. Brian is just superb all rounder.
To bad Bjornsson not on this show, I think this would be a perfect challenge for him.
3:30 Eddie is like a forth grader.... Robert starts acting like one
Good lord ... Brian Shaw would've beaten Hercules in every single one of his labors.
Imagine a boat full of vikings the size of these guys, arriving at your village's shore.
Anyone else see Nick kick the cone towards Obie at the 3:13? 😂
Very stable friendship and rivalry. You rarely see that in these days where people filled with jealousy
When Brian got hooked up it went from a strongman competition to an ox pull
Brian pulls PLANES this is a warmup for him 🤣🤣
These guys should do a house moving challenge. Move around couches, entertainment centers, or and such
*DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME*
me: welp guess I'll have to go to school to drag my Viking boat
Brian is an absolute beast. When it comes to lifting/pulling everyday objects, theres really nothing he cant move
Brian Shaw is something else when it comes to strongmen
Hafthor is holding the other side of the rope😁
I can listen to Shaw's voice for days
Don't try this at home
Me: ok I'll do it in the streets
Brian is a true Viking
Nick: 6'2" over 300lbs and saying he's not a big man. lol.
