- After an AHRS failure in the Sandel EHSI in IMC on an approach I thought it would be a good idea to really understand the back ups I have in my Aerostar Super 700. Having both Nav's set up for an overlayed GPS and ILS approach, with the push of a button the autopilot would seamlessly fly the approach.
Such a beautiful plane. Thanks for sharing!
I am listening on Bose N/C headsets, sounds just like I am in the cockpit of my AEST! Nice work on the content and info. New sub.
Great video and beautiful airplane. I actually have 3 hours logged in a Aerostar .
Belonged to a good friend who was a CFI . We were flying to Ohio and he put me in the left seat and said "you fly"! I remember how tight and responsive the controls were compared to the Cessna I was flying.
Thanks for the video.
Yup, PAE. I learned how to fly there and I'll never forget my first solo.
Thanks for the annotations of the settings, great airmanship Eric.
My pleasure!
That’s the name of that game amd you do it well - taking care of those expensive engines. I too come back to climb power after I am cleaned up and attained Vy
Excellent video. Thanks for letting us fly along (S/N 61P-0684)
Nice, I have a 601
Hi Eric,
Thanks for posting, enjoyed it!
A+ on the annotations in the video, love that! Have you tried to chase down the cause of the siren noise in the audio? That's pretty annoying -- Also, love the radio call reference: "A whole lotta ones!" Wish I lived closer to you! One last comment, the 602P that I flew had the electric steering switch way down, rear on the console. Did they relocate that just left on the dashboard rim? Much better placement of that switch!
Keep the vids coming!!👍
Been chasing it for years. It’s gonna take an avionics upgrade I think
What's on the window? Is that a HUD or maybe a defrost? Also, love the sound of those engines and the coms & call-outs. Subscribed.
The "window" is a hot plate to melt ice off the windshield. This is one of the most asked questions.
Did you explain why there was an alarm sound going the whole time?
That is the Shadin Altitude Alerter. I will sound when getting close to the set altitude when climbing or descending. It will also warn you if you are getting off the set altitude. It is an annoying sound for sure.
What is the alarm sound in the video?
That annoying alarm is the altitude alert. It goes off a couple hundred feet before you are supposed to level off.
Great flying, but PLEASE sync the Props. If you have passengers on board, they’d go nuts and turn off that annoying alarm!
Sound effect of the whooping siren ruined this.
As a pilot I'd rather have the raw sounds than some music blasting. It was ambient to me.
What is the siren constantly going off?
Alternator whine. Been trying to find the leak for a few years.
The @@AerostarPilot
The alternator is leaking and causing the siren sound?
@@jim7082 yes
Sounds like regular alternator whine, not unusual, but also strobe noise?
