    I love this e-bike. My wife just bought it for my 68th birthday and it's outstanding. The issue of the seats I suspect is for really full bottoms or heavy folks as I have found no issues I'm 5 feet 12 inches at 150 pounds and will be 68 in June of 2021. This bike is a beast... a workhorse for hauling groceries, fishing gear, and camera gear.

    I purchased the Rad Plus, $500 gets a lot from what I can tell. The Suspension and 7 gear Cog not available as OEM, premium display, passenger seat, headlamp, rear kickstand, fenders and brown leather grips total about $385. So for $115 you get the suspension, 7 gear cog set up. Mine just arrived and will post my review.

    • @larryl
      @larryl  3 года назад

      Yeah, you can’t really go wrong. I would say :
      1. If suspension is a MUST… just go right to the plus
      2. If you don’t mind a bump here and there, get the regular, and upgrade as needed.
      Also, I am sure you can find an affordable fork for the regular runner, but I haven’t done a ton of research yet.
      And as for the gears, kinda pointless imo I have a couple other Ebike’s with 7 speed cassettes … honestly haven’t switched gears once. That’s what the pedal assist levels are for…But that could be just me.
      Finally, the upgraded display is my favorite upgrade so far. Well worth the $100

    • @larryl
      @larryl  3 года назад +2

      So I have it installed and I have mixed feelings about it. You can basically only go faster through pedal assist. However, I found you can change your tire size and that gives you a little extra boost. BUT then your mileage and speed are not accurate. So all said and done it’s... just fine. Glad I bought it, but not exactly worth $100.....
      Also while I am typing, just got done reviewing the Rattan LM 500 and it might actually have a faster top speed than the radrunner. They make a 750 too. Very impressed and surprised.( build quality on the radrunner is still better)

      Dude do not order this bike you will regret it. As a matter of fact there is no display system. There is no mph or miles you've put on the bike nohing

    Have been riding mopeds my whole life! Have had like 15 different kinds. This summer I’m looking for a moped like ebike to rip around on to get coffee with my 2 year old on the back. I live in Moline Il where it’s really hilly by the to go up and down the river valley area. I’m the same weight as you do I’m interested in seeing more hill videos. Right now I’m debating on the Radrunner vs the Radrunner plus. What are your thoughts . 500 bucks more for suspension and gears. Do you think it’s worth it?

    • @larryl
      @larryl  3 года назад

      Man, it’s really hard to answer.... I think as long as you’re only riding on paved paths and roads, you really don’t need the suspension.
      As for hills, I have tackled some huge hills with only a little effort. I have yet to wish I had the rear cassette. Note that I am probably only going 5-10mph up these bigger hills.
      So honestly, I would probably just get the regular radrunner and then use some of the extra money to buy a display, and maybe a rear passenger kit. Unless you don’t mind spending a little more, than just go for the plus... either way, you can’t go wrong!

    I've been considering getting one of these. I'm stuck between getting the Radrunner 1 which is available now, or wait and see if the Radrunner Plus comes into stock. Do you think the 7-speed drivetrain and front suspension would be worth the extra time and price?

    • @larryl
      @larryl  3 года назад +2

      In my opinion, just go for the regular radrunner. The front suspension might be nice. But you will never need to change gears (at least I don’t) ... I absolutely love the stock rad runner. Plus at that cost, you could choose what things you would like to upgrade individually. Ex: you can buy the passenger kit. Honestly you could probably find an even nicer after market front fork that would work with this bike too.
      In short, you will not be disappointed in the rad runner. Plus you can ride and upgrade it as you you go.
