Don’t forget to take the little rubber cap off where that little hose goes into the bottom of the intake it will cause a check engine light (learned the hard way)
Yes I took it off. That’s where you hook up the small vacuum hose. But I know some people have had that issue and got a check engine light. 🤣. Thanks for watching much appreciated
No ideas here but is it the correct intake for your car? Do u have those 2 holes that have plugs ? CTS would probably know your answer. Thanks for the comment. 😎👍🏼💯
Old video I know but any clue if the nice sealed S&B air intake for the TDI will work for our TSI’s? I can’t find an ACTUAL cold air intake (aka has to be sealed) for the life of me.🙃 Someone said it has a barb on the tube and I’d have to figure out if I have the extra air intake line thing. I gotta get one of those nice 3” down pipe, and the upgraded cooler inlet pipe. Some of the forums said those are two really constricting parts for these.
Good question. I’m actually not sure about the TDI Intake will fit. You can get a high flow filter for the stock intake. It’s like $50. It’s a K&N filter. I wish I had more info. But I love this intake from CTS. And they make a nice downpipe also.
Look up ECS tuning or Uro Tuning. Those are the major distributors of most all VW and Audi modification parts. Or you can go to CTS turbo directly online. I like Uro tuning
The lock tight was to keep those plugs from coming out. The holes are for other accessories. Not sure exactly what accessories but some models may have an extra sensor mas airflow sensor. That’s my guess.
Much appreciation here. Thanks so much. Thank you for watching. Just a regular dude here trying to deliver real life stuff. Hopefully I can help some folks. Thanks again for the compliment and stick around. I plan to do more stuff little by little to this Passat. 😎👍🏼
Yea it does sound great. I’m sure especially with that magnaflow. Hey thanks for watching. Consider subscribing. Also I’m considering a magnaflow but I don’t want loud. I want moderate sound.
It is a tight spot. I assume u removed the clamp? If you did then get a long channel locks or pliers and pull on the rubber. That’s all I know. Eventually it should pop off. Good luck. 👍🏼
I finally got it off. I took a small screw driver and helped it off without too much pressure. Don’t want to crack it. Thanks for the video tho. Mine came with no instructions so the video helped a lot!
Awesome! Yes it’s not easy getting in that tight spot. Happy you were able to get it. Thanks for watching the video. Consider subscribing if you like. 👍🏼😎💯
It’s not about the financing. It’s about The warranty. I do it to all my cars and have never had an issue with warranty repairs. Check with insurance or warranty first.
They have one specific for each engine size. Go to CTS turbo website and put in your car information. They should have one for you. Thanks for watching. Consider Subscribing 😁
That hose goes to the intake manifold if not mistaken. I don’t know the name of it. Is it throwing an error code? Are u talking about the tiny hose that is towards the front of the engine that attaches to the intake pipe?
@grind-it-out it has the check engine light. The stock intake didn't have it but now the cts turbo intake has the nozzle but no hose to connect to it I have a mk5 gti
Never experienced that. All I can think is that something isn’t tight. If it’s not a new rotor you will probably have vibration. But your caliper could be loose. I’m just thinking of possibility’s. That’s the first time I’ve heard that. Make sure it’s all tight to torque specs. A warped rotor usually causes vibration under normal situations. Let me know.
Does this help with gas mileage or use more? Or neither? I do a lot freeway driving. Also where did you purchase this? I cannot find on eBay or Amazon?
It only allows to hear turbo noise. It doesn’t really increase HP or gas mileage. Not anything to talk about anyway. But you have to go to CTS turbo online. Or ecs or euro tuning websites. It’s definitely not on Amazon. But tons of VW owners run the CTs turbo intake. I want to thank you for watching and commenting. If you wouldn’t mind would you give me a Subscribe it will help the channel I really appreciate it 👍🏼
No maintenance really. Just clean the filter which I made a video about. Check it out. The cost was just under $300. But occasionally check the hose clamps and make sure they are still tight. That’s pretty much it. Thanks for watching 😎👍🏼💯
That’s awesome. Glad I could help. I try to give details. It’s pretty simple to do. The hardest part is getting back by the turbo. It’s a tight fit. Thanks again 👍🏼. Consider subscribing if you like 😎
I’m happy that you were able to find the video useful. Hopefully it answered your questions as far as installation is concerned. And it you would be so kind as to give the channel a subscribe 👍🏼. That would be greatly appreciated and will just help the channel. Much thanks and look forward to bringing more content. Have a good one thank you 👍🏼
Why not just get high flow drop in filter it’s 10x better for the engine makes hp the air intake actually loses hp also drops acceleration compared to high flow drop in filter this comes from multiple tuners

That little hose that plugs on to the intake what is it for
I love modified intake videos.
Me too. Hey thanks for watching. I appreciate it 💯👍🏼😎
Thanks for this video and explaining very well/ showing
Appreciate that very much. Thank you for watching also. 💯👍🏼😎
Think I might do this when the weather clears up. Does this kind of stuff hurt the resale value?
Im not sure if hurts resale or not. Unless they like turbo sound or not. I love it
Thanks for this video it helped a ton, I just go my intake back I had it powered coated Transparent Copper 😎
I’ll bet it looks nice! Thanks for watching and hopefully you’ll enjoy the intake. 👍🏼💯
wassup bro i have a 2019 passat wolfsburg tsi , do you think the same parts would fit mine as well ?
You’ll have to input your cars info with whatever you are buying. It will tell you the correct part 💪🏼
Let me know if you ended up doing it I got a 2019 Wolfsburg as well thinking of getting this exact one.
@macers999jsw7 Do it. It’s nice to have the sound 💯
@ for sure will, thinking of getting a ecu tune too but they are pricey
Yes true. But worth it
I just installed this intake in my 2013 vw cc and their is no where to plug in MAF sensor any ideas?
No ideas here but is it the correct intake for your car? Do u have those 2 holes that have plugs ? CTS would probably know your answer. Thanks for the comment. 😎👍🏼💯
Wait what happened to the MAF sensor? Where did u hide it?
There is no MAF sensor. Just a hose in the back side.

So what are them 2 holes on the intake he put locktight on?
The lock tight was to keep those plugs from coming out. The holes are for other accessories. Not sure exactly what accessories but some models may have an extra sensor mas airflow sensor. That’s my guess.
@@grind-it-outmine didn’t come with any bolts to put in there, do I NEED to put them in?
No you don’t need them. Mine just came with it. It’s to add additional accessories of some kind. I just locktite them so they don’t fall out.
Beautiful work man

holy crapp that sounds so good! congrats on 500 subs!
Thanks Kenny. I’m slowly getting there. And yes it does make it sound kinda cool. I don’t even think I need a blow off valve. Hope all is well

@@grind-it-out it's actually not super loud at all. No drone or anything. And subbing now bud
Ok well I’m thinking 3 inch down pipe with a moderate sounding muffler
I don’t want loud cold starts. I’m not 16 years old. Plus in reality it’s a 4 cylinder. We can’t fool anyone lol
@@grind-it-out that's the beauty of it we get to put our own touches to make it ours. Downpipe sounds good

I can’t get the hose connector off the bottom of the oem turbo pipe. I’ve been twisting but it’s not coming off. Any other tips?

I got the same air intake. But my car has an air censore. Will it work
That’s a question for CTs turbo. I’d give them a shout before getting it. But I’m sure there’s a way. 👍🏼😎
@grind-it-out so the one you have is Gen3 the one I need is Gen3B.
Sounds like it. Not 💯 but probably. You’ll like the sound once you install it. It also looks nice
