Had a lap with Robert in the 620R and tuition in my 600LT , learning how to drive this incredible track , great experience as a passenger, chatting with Robert, would recommend this to all fellow petrol heads , see you next year 👍 PS thanks for putting in the 620R launch video , my grandkids luv it 😁
Funny thing about that is, those two films presents very similar pace. I compared some "undisturbed"(by trafiic etc) fragments and Robert in 620R was within 2 sec behind Kubica, and at one section even went 1 sec faster. Yet I totally dig what You're saying because shear agression and pure perfection of F1 driver style was just a pleasure to watch and even way faster laps(with other cars) that I've seen weren't that exciting to watch for some hard to explain reason. Also I think that Misha didn't get enough credit for great camera angle and overall "instinct" on what to film - he did a great job on that resulting in a spectacular video.
@@JareckiJ it's just about seeing the car on the limit. Kubica squeezed pretty much everything out of that m4. And here you see a very potent McLaren being driven at an ok pace. Robert here probably goes easy on it not to break it and you can tell it's less drama and not that much beyond the immense acceleration and straight line speed
I just wanted to say that it's good to see you two in a more relaxed state of mind, honestly. It's quite apparent you're good friends and it appears in this video as if perhaps some of the weight of the world has lifted from both your shoulders? It's just very enjoyable to watch, that's all. *thumbs up* -Ed on the Ridge
The 620R sounds more raw with the rattling and the revs being heard in the cabin. Wonder what the DB levels are in the cabin? Nice to see Robert back from his vacation.
Holy Cannelloni ! That Things is *fast* ! And in addition to that, i am absolutely certain that Robert, with these driving skills, is definitely capable of doing a sub 7 Lap.
That 620R looks so planted. Turn in and it goes. Was watching Robert's steering input and it looks so easy and precise; no counter steer and just point it where you want to go and boom. And agreed on the emotion of the car. I was lucky to be a passenger and it feels raw, emotional but still well thought of. Good job McLaren.
Misha, tell Robert about: ”Tesa 51616” tape for the resonance sounds in the car, needs just a bit of it around contact points. We use those in our development vehicle to reduce noise.
I know everyone is talking about Kubica, but I was thoroughly impressed by this lap. Every Robert videos I watched (not many of them) were more casual than this one. He's a really good driver! The car was moving big time! Also this video felt "lighter". Somehow it has a calming vibe (probably because it was 620r asmr). Feels good to watch this with all the tension everywhere lately.
The way it blitzed by some of the traffic is unreal, while respectful not pushing by. Smooth lap, chatting along the way but quick, how TF laps should be done 👍 and yes it is painful to only be able to watch right now than be there myself
Ok this video has convinced me to book a taxi lap in the Mclaren.....the noise and vibrations from this machine seem so raw! fingers crossedI'll be out later this year :)
Wow that line through Kesselchen demands some good timing and the brakes were very impressive at Mütkurve. Thanks guys, and I agree with the other comments about the more lax feel to this video. Very enjoyable but I don't know about emotional lol
Since you ask... you have a nice harness bar where to place a camera with integrated telemetry (not pushing any particular product) and get a nice view of the driver inputs and the track. Sorta conventional but it works. The big Race Monitor device either gets the track view or its an obstruction inside cockpit...
Hi Guys, this is your buddy from the bay area. Great vid and man, I love the sound of the 620R !!! The video recorder you have I saw when I was there last year. It was offered at the RSR sessions. It wasn't 1080 then but looks like your kit''s been improved. They had a US based distributor who seems to have disappeared. Would appreciate link to purchase. Danke!
I just synced this video to the Kubica video in the M4, from Hoheneichen to Mutkurve and @robert Michell and Kubica are driving EXACTLY the same time. The traffic is comparable. Really nice to see the different driving techniques. Kubica is way more consistent with his steering inputs. In the corner, his angle is completely fixed. No shaking, nothing. Robert, driving different, faster lines, let his hands shake a lot more. Are the cars comparable Misha? As in weight/hp ratio?
Guys not everything in life is measured by lap times. Do you think that an Elise with 160 hp is gonna be quicker on the Ring than a Civic Type R? Of course not but it's the "package" that makes all the difference: probably for a lot of us out there the mid-engine high revving NA rwd Lotus will be a more entertaining drive. Or imagine the difference between the last Porsche Panamera that did 7:28 and an entry-level Caterham or Radical with less than 200 hp. Hell I'll chose the lightest car every day even though it's slower
Nice car....could use a top mounted exhaust tho. But this one has a higher wing so the flames would be just directly on that thing instead of over the top on the 600LT
The 620R is cool and all but how is he hand holding that camera and keeping the video so still. That must be some pretty amazing image stabilization on that camera?
I don't understand the McLaren way of thinking. People said that McLarens lacked soul in the sound department, and they came up with a ridiculously rattly interior. That's not the sound i want coming from my very expensive performance car. Neither are the many bings and bongs they are known for btw. Besides that: Lovely seeing a few videos with Robert. He has been missed. I hope everything is cool with him and his family
The buzzing is annoying, but my god, if you were to assign a human emotion to that that motor, it sounds angry to me! The GT2 RS is faster than the 620R!?! That 620R is scary crazy fast! The way it overtakes other cars makes them looked like they're practically parked. It's good that that motor screams like it does, so the other drivers know that you're coming up behind them at a high rate of speed.
from the infos coming off guys who owns mcladens, thses cars can get quite reliable, but only if used on tracks.the moment you uses them in the streets, the badly maintained roads instills electronic problems.i'd way prefer a ride in a GT2RS than the mcladen.

Every lap is going to seem slow now after Robert Kubica's visit.
I'll address it soon!
Misha Charoudin we want Kubica in the 620R 😉
@@mgcharoudin Do you have more content with Kubica ? Did you swap seats at some point with him? He could also be quite good instructor i think 😉

The grip it has is insane ! Robert has dialled it in nicely. Thanks for the video mate 👍
I’d love to see you behind the wheel of a super car with Robert!
It almost sounds naturally aspirated, I love boost but the lack of noise is always a downer but this thing sounds great.
