im trying out decora and my hair is a bit too straight to hold all those clips, so instead ive opted for sticking them on hats! especially knit beanies since i can stick the clips through the little holes. even though its not hair, this vid helps a lot with where to place them all!

Not really. A lot of pictures from when the style was very popular (circa 2000's) also feature people with less hairclips. The point is to decorate yourself how you like, not to go all out 24/7.
