    I have owned each so I will throw my 2 cents in: I have been driving Jeeps since 2015 with a Rubicon JK until 2018 when the JL came out. I bought a Rubicon JL and it was light-years ahead of the JK. Much more refined ride and just better all around. Then, in 2021 I bought a 392. Wow, what a vehicle. The Hemi is nothing short of amazing and that sound...my oh my.
    So, 2022 comes around and I really thought Ford did a great job on the Bronco so I found a Raptor for not too much over MSRP. Sold the 392 and I have been driving the Raptor for the last year. Guess what? I am now ordering a 2024 Jeep 392 and will sell the Raptor. My thoughts on each vehicle are as follows:
    Likes and dislikes:
    Bronco styling is fantastic. Since it is a little wider, the interior is roomier and very comfortable. The ride, especially on the freeway, is much better than the Jeep as the Bronco has IS in the front whereas the Jeep has a solid axle.
    I really like the Sync 4 system and it seems to work quite well. I don't know about the new U-Connect that is in the 2024 Jeep.
    One thing I was really looking forward to in the Bronco that ended up really disappointing me is the driver's digital screen. The lack of customization is so low and it lacks basic information. Such as a real-time fuel usage meter. There is a fuel usage estimator in the trip cluster, but nothing in real-time. My wife's Bronco Bad Lands has one that is quite nice. When changing drive modes in the Raptor, it changes the color of the screen. In the Off-Road mode, the screen turns into a nice bronzy amber color. But, I don't normally drive in this mode as I am almost always on Raptor mode. But, in Raptor mode, the screen is bright white with no way of altering the colors. And, the most maddening thing is the seatbelt nag. If I am the only person in the Raptor, and I buckle my seatbelt, a screen comes up taking over the entire center of the digital screen with a graphic showing me the four seats and what seat has a seatbelt fastened. In order to get rid of this I either have to click on it or drive around a half a mile for it to go away. The screen has the little seatbelt graphic that every other car has had for the last 40 years in the upper right top of the display. There is no reason to have this seatbelt nag take over the screen. This is a complaint from other Raptor owners too. The digital part of the screen in the Jeep, while being smaller, has much more customization than the Raptor and is more colorful. I would much rather have the analog/digital screen in my wife's Bronco than the screen in the Raptor.
    The lack of a winch-ready bumper in the Bronco is a mystery to me. Jeep has nailed this as the bumper is winch-ready and all one has to do is buy a mounting plate and you are good to go. Now you can even get a factory winch. And, you don't have to alter or move the parking sensors. The Bronco on the other hand has no factory winch-ready bumper whatsoever. There are several aftermarket bumpers but you either lose your driving/parking sensors or have to move them which from the videos I have watched is a real pain; so much so that I just didn't do it.
    Engines. It was apparent from the start that Ford was trying to beat the Jeep in most categories. I feel the Raptor disappoints in every way compared to the 392 engine-wise. If Ford had dropped the 5.0 V8 into the Raptor, it would be a completely different vehicle. But they decided to use the 3.0. While this motor is a nice engine, to me it is not Raptor worthy. And, the gas mileage is at least as bad or worse than my old 392. I typically am in the 13s on the Raptor and was in the 13's to 14's in the 392. While I am not a crazy driver, I am very aggressive and have driven both the same way.The exhaust on the 392 is absolute heaven. Wow, there is nothing sweeter than the sound of this motor. The Raptor on the other hand just sounds like crap to me. It is so bad that I find myself putting the exhaust in quietest mode as it is just annoying. And, holy crap, when you are in the Raptor mode, the downshifting is just crazy, loud and obnoxious. I can't imagine it is healthy for the transmission and there is no way to adjust it. This is also a common complaint of Raptor owners.
    Some of my complaints may seem minor but this is my daily driver so I see them every day.
    I just left the dealer today and am getting a 392 for $400 over dealer invoice which I feel is a pretty good deal. The order goes in Monday and I was told it will take 12 weeks or so.

    I purchased a 392 it came in on New Year’s of this year it was beautiful the quality craftsmanship was incredible, I’ve always had a Jeep owend 14 of them and by far this was the best, I modified it I put the best lift kit I could 39 inch tires Custom drive shafts fox 3.0 shocks it was awesome but I purchased it for my adventures long road trips and towing a teardrop trailer, I took it on two long trips & the vehicle exhausted me (Driver fatigue) so I test drove the bronco raptor and just loved the comfort so I ended up purchasing the bronco raptor and it is by far the most comfortable off-road vehicle I’ve ever driven and chatter bumps Forget about them you don’t feel them at all, example my 392 about 18 miles an hour over the chatter bumps even with air down tires bronco raptor I could do 45 miles an hour over them no problem there’s things I like about both of them, you can’t go wrong with either one and whatever you get be proud of it!!!!👍🇺🇸

    I just traded out of my 23 W 392 (non XR) into a 2023 Braptor pretty much fully loaded. The Raptor does everything better except the sound. God I miss that 392 sound already (It had AWE exhaust and was simply musical). But the jeep was just a terrible highway car. Loud and borderline unsafe (if you’re on the highway and it’s banking left or right and you hit an imperfection in the pavement, your life would flash in front of your eyes). Going 80 felt like going 120. I’ll really miss that sound but I couldn’t deal with the other draw backs.
    The Braptor also gets much more attention if that’s your thing. The 392 is very understated

    I think all the jeep lovers should be thanking Ford. Because if they never came back out with the bronco to be direct competition with the Jeep. You’ll probably never have the 392 and a mid refresh. Sometimes it takes a little competition to bring out the best in some. I wonder what the comparison would be when Ford come out with a V-8 for the bronco. If you think about it, the raptor R is already beating the TRX.

    • @j.l.5966
      @j.l.5966 9 месяцев назад +1

      It actually depends on what seats it’s optioned with. If you go marine grade vinyl you get the washout interior but manual adjusted seats (because water and electronic seats don’t go well together). If you option for the leather seats, you get the power adjust and heated feature, but no washout interior. So it depends on what you need and how much dirt and mud will end up inside the Bronco.

    I have never owned a Jeep but would love to own a Rubicon 392 so badly!! I dream of off-roading it every day from snow wheeling to driving on the beach. 2 questions I have is with the top on the Rubicon in your video is there a lot of road noise flyin down the highway at 80mph? Also how water resistant is the top is it going to keep heavy amounts of rain out of the cab?

    • @SchwayZ
      @SchwayZ  6 месяцев назад

      So I drove it several times on the freeway and I would say it gets pretty loud but it was quieter than the full softop on my ford bronco. I managed to have a phone convo which is not something I can do in my bronco with the softop. As for water resistance it's not a problem. We had a terrible downpour while I had this car and there was no water entering the cabin.

    Both vehicles are expensive because they are loaded with off roading technology. The owners of either of these vehicles have to have a significant amount of disposable income just to be able to purchase either one of these vehicles. Off roading either of these vehicles will expose them to damaged paint, dents, and broken parts.
    Therefore, most of these vehicles will never be taken off road. They will be daily drivers, or grocery getters for their wives, or just an extra vehicle that stays in the garage.
    I’ve owned 3 Jeeps. I current own a JEEP JK Wrangler. I don’t off road my Jeeps, they are strictly an extra vehicle that stays mostly in the garage. A Jeep Sport or Sport S will satisfy my Jeep fetish. If more luxury is desired then a Sahara is an option. It makes no sense to me to pay a lot of money for off road technology that I will never use, but that’s just the way my mind works.

    Bronco defeats the purpose of what you’d use the vehicle for due to its size. Anyone that goes on trails/off-roading knows that your ability is limited by the size of your vehicle. Goes without saying, the Hemi V8 in a Jeep is all you ever wanted in an already fully capable off roading vehicle. Throw in the recent improvements and you really made a mistake if you passed it up for a Bronco lol.

    The Bronco Raptor was built to shine off road….the Bronco will eat the Jeep for lunch in an off road competition…
    The Jeep is faster but that doesn’t matter off road

    You're going to be biased cause you bought a Bronco. I love my 24' Wrangler. I'm sure you'll rank on the Jeep. You're the RUclipsr not me.

    Too bad that neither one has the reliability of a Toyota. Typical American made vehicles, hits all the points, but not made to last.
