  • The Imperium welcomes the birth of its state church, the Adeptus Ministorum, at the same time that it must weather an unexpected xenos threat from the Orks during the War of the Beast.
    In the wake of the First Black Crusade, the Imperium found itself enjoying a rare period of peace and prosperity. The growth of belief in the divinity of the Emperor of Mankind became explosive at this time, as the horrors of the Horus Heresy led many to seek comfort and reassurance in the growing cult of Emperor worship.
    So rapidly did faith in the Emperor grow through the cult known as the Temple of the Saviour Emperor that by the mid-32nd Millennium it was recognized by the ruling Senatorum Imperialis as the state church of the Imperium and an arm of the Imperial government called the Adeptus Ministorum.
    But this brief era of peace is brought to an end by the War of the Beast, a terrible conflict against the Orks that nearly sees the Imperium destroyed. In response to its hard-won victory over the greenskins, the Imperium establishes several new institutions, including the Ordo Malleus and Ordo Xenos of the Inquisition and the Space Marines of the Deathwatch.

      We did our best. The War of the Beast was a disaster in terms of prior lore, consistency and even logic.

    So how do you think the Emperor of man will react to their worship of him as a deity when he was SPECIFIC about not doing that? When he returns (you know he will)? Will he destroy what essentially was corrupted?

    • @chimchu3232
      @chimchu3232 Год назад

      No shot imo. The emperor is well aware he's worshiped as a God, he's still conscious and alive in the warp. I think it was part of his plan the whole time. I don't think he will return as a man, but even if he did I think he would accept their worship of him and found a new empire around his return. He could reunite his empire once again under their already established belief in his divinity, and he could say he's fulfilling some grand prophecy by coming back to the material realm to lead humanity once again

      As strong emotions/beliefs become real in the warp it has probably been a boon for the Emperor, and hence, for man.

      Please see the The Beast Arises series of novels. There are two novels recording those specific events you mention, "The Last Wall" by David Annandale and "Throneworld" by Guy Haley. Be warned, there are 12 novels in the complete series, though they have also been gathered together into three large omnibus volumes. www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-40000/novels/the-beast-arises-omnibus-1.html

You are the only 40k youtuber that i have seen that says it this way, please change the way you say it out of respect for the culture where the word comes from first, secondly, because it sounds awful.
