venus is the roman counterpart of the greek aphrodite! the song she sampled is called "rocket number 9" by zombie zombie; so it's a play on the the planet venus and the space theme with the goddess of love, venus. and "aphrodite lady seashell bikini (garden panty)" is a reference to the garb in botticelli's painting "the birth of venus" (which is also spliced in as part of the album cover in the background)
Also in right after Venus in G.U.Y she references Himeros the god of sexual desire and one of Aphrodite’s sons. It’s nice that she continues the theme of religion and deities from Born This Way but with the Greek/Roman pantheon in place of Christianity

One of the most unique songs I've heard, especially coming from a pop emperess (at the time) In the first verse, art is singing to pop (“Come to me, with all your glamour and cruelty / Just do the thing that you do, and I’ll undress you” - "The *melody* that you choose" In the second verse, pop is singing to art (“Come to me, with all your subtext and fantasy / Just do the thing that you do, in a perverse hue” - "The *color palette* you choose" In the chorus, art and pop tell each other that they can belong together as one entity without separation or distinction. Her vocals, lyrics and production are so aggressive and disruptive, the way she used everything to express her feelings and made one of the most pop yet experimental albums urghh love her. It would be interested to see Lydia react to the performance of swine and dope so she can really see how hurt gaga was at the time.

The remix with Christina Aguilera was continued to used in streaming as a single song (not in the album). But i know the remix because the radios turned more the remix version.
