Very good explanation! My teacher was struggling to explain this (At least from what I could tell), and I had no idea what I didn’t understand. This helped a lot!

Sir, you have no idea how thankful I am ...I was truly finding a way out of this conundrum of magnetic inclination as a verticle component...thank you so much!

@comrade-in- comment-section You're absolutely right. And indeed I was having the same confusion earlier. Actually if you even see the diagram given in class 12 ncert book, they've made the magnetic north and the geographical north pole in the same hemisphere. But both north poles should repel... So what's exactly going on?
So here's the answer to this: Actually by the term "MAGNETIC NORTH" what people generally mean is the *direction in which the north pole of a freely suspended magnet would point.* That's right. Read it again if you want. Now obviously *a freely suspended magnet's north pole would point in the direction of earth's magnet's south pole and earth's magnet's south pole is in the same hemispheres as the geographical north pole.* Hence the magnetic north and the geographical north pole are in the same hemisphere (but earth's magnet has its south pole in that hemisphere).
So, *in short "magnetic north" does not mean the north pole of earth's magnet. It means the direction where a freely suspended magnet's north points* (which is the same as earth's magnet's south pole or geographic north pole).
      Could you understand it?

the geographic north is opposite to the magnetic north. & the compass needle points the magnetic south, that is the geographic North.

Explanation is excellent sir but at 3:03 you have said angle of dip is angle made by the needle with vertical 😮😮 Isn't there must be angle with horizontal??😕😕 All the best from Nepal!!!😊😊😊☺☺☺☺👍👍👍😇😇
