depends on the artist for me i suppose, but for lawrance the band, yep. don't lose sight accoustic, instantly grabbed me, made me send it to friends, listen it on repeat and then go down this rabbithole xD Love that accoustic(-ish) series of them!
I love when Rick gets musical, especially when he has a musical guest who is a musician. I feel he steps his game up and adds a lot of clever themes to the music.
I love when Gracie said "No, it's fine, we are musicians because we like playing music". I freakin love it when someone actually wants to hear me play.
Never heard of these before but 10 seconds in their 1st song on the pod and they get an instant sub and follow on all of their music and socials. Thanks for the hook up Rick
Obsessed with Lawrence. ❤❤❤ They were a one touch for me. Heard Don’t Lose Sight and was HOOKED. Gobbled up the rest of their available discography the same date ❤
Lawrence… one of THE best and most talented grooving bands out there today! Can’t wait to see them in AZ on Oct 8. If you want a band to get you bobbing your head to the beat with stank face going on same time… this your band 🤙🏼🤟🏼😀
Omg they're great, and Gracie has pipes. "I'm confident that I'm insecure" brought me to tears. Discovering a new fav band from one of my favorite podcasts is such a delight. Thank you, Rick!!
Gracie and Clyde are just complete class and talent. I found them on TikTok a little over a year ago and I have to listen to at least one of their songs everyday.
This is my second comment on this post. When Clyde mentions the fake applause and Rick comments on people believing it was a real tambourine, I had to go back and check to see that it wasn't. I really thought it was a tambourine. Also, thank heavens for this episode. I got really into this podcast this past Summer, and if Rick hadn't had them on, I would have never found them. I saw them in Austin in October of this year, and they put on a fantastic show. Thanks again!
So much fun. I really needed a little pick me up before work today. Life has been rough lately, and I thank you Rick for bringing some joy to these difficult times.
I'm a one touch when it comes to Lawrence , heard " Do you wanna do nothing with me" once years ago and I was hooked. You guys are so good, keep it up !
Protect Lawrence at all costs. They are National Treasures. So glad they’re now in the TYSO cannon, they are AMAZING live! #2016CVilleTheSouthern #2022CVilleTheJefferson
Right at the start, Gracie's "omg you're in the stadium" I LOVE THEIR INFECTIOUS SPIRIT. You guys don't even know how much of a blessing y'all are, including Rick. Joy can be so foreboding these days so it's nice to see stuff like this
I would have loved to hear the inner thoughts from them during the "puppet routine" monologue. Rick has a gift of taking the line between serious and joking and making it rather amorphous.
I'm 42 yo...i love music dearly...I literally just got back from playing music for an hour and half at a Senior center for 90+ ppl...as far as nursing home/senior center "gigs" which I play several times a month....it's a lot of fun and very rewarding... When I get done, I go and and smoke a big joint and usually play violin or guitar for an hour or two because I'm still in performance mode.... well Im so glad I peaked at YT for something to watch while I rolled....I was giggling and getting goosebumps instantly... I love chemistry.... even when they didn't realize that Rick is not really a puppet act... Rick really committed to it.... Love love love!
I first discovered Lawrence the Band about a year ago, and they have been a daily listen for me since. I can honestly say Lawrence the band is your favorite bands, favorite band 😂. They have some incredible acoustic songs
Thanks to this podcast, it reminded me to check their European tour dates and I managed to grab the last two tickets to their London show last week! These guys are one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. Go and grab a ticket to your nearest show! You will not be disappointed ☀️🤯
"three touches" "I already understand, but I still have to sit here while you explain it because that is what humans do." God, this resonates with me, haha.
Talk about touch points!......although I have an 18"/5-blade standing fan blowing on me I got major chills hearing them sing @ 19:07 🔥🔥🔥 f'n wow!!!! Joe Cocker much? sooooooo EXCELLENT!!
@cloudbloom haha oh god, every guy I ever dated was referred to as dude so I feel ya hahah. Although, I meant she was trying to make it clear to Rick that she's not married to Clyde, subtle and odd shooting of the shot lolol.
They put on a fantastic show. Saw them a couple of weeks ago in Nashville. Unreal talent and showmanship, and funny as hell, too. They also brought out John Oates to sing and play on "Guy I Used to Be" and "You Make My Dreams."
I don’t mean this in a backhanded way, but I don’t listen to their type of music and had never heard of them before today, but they’re exceptionally talented and I added several of their songs to my playlist after this episode. Awesome stuff
Was watching while doing dishes before bed. Had to stop and dance during the special moment, both out of awe of skill and the joy of a wonderful moment of kindness. Thanks Rick!
I'm a HUGE Lawrence fan. I saw them in Cincinnati a few years back and they are the best band I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live. If you love catchy soulful music then you NEED to dive into their acoustic performances on their RUclips Channel. The energy, talent, and production is bar none.
Well this is a pleasant surprise, Ive been following TYSO since episode 1 and Have listened to Lawrence since 2016/17, quite the random clash but also, it makes sense.
Just wanted to say thanks for featuring Amazing musical talents like this on your podcast! I love you Where can I and watch every episode of take your Shoes Off, But just like a lot of people on here after 10 seconds of hearing them play and sing I immediately went over to my Spotify and follow them and haven't listening to their music all day. Literally can't stop smiling and dancing!😊🎶🕺🏼💃🏼🎵
Just listened to this as a podcast and had to watch the YT video because I have to see Clyde and Gracie’s faces when Rick tries to sell them on turning a concert into an Andy Kaufman conceptual piece and then brings out a puppet.
One touch guy here. When Dont lose sight (acoustic) hit my algo, I went down the deepest rabbit hole ever. Lawrence is real cool
Same
Another one touch guy here! Same story 🤙
Same
Same here! At least Skynet has musical taste
depends on the artist for me i suppose, but for lawrance the band, yep. don't lose sight accoustic, instantly grabbed me, made me send it to friends, listen it on repeat and then go down this rabbithole xD Love that accoustic(-ish) series of them!
Love these musical eps, these two are just pure talent. I think this is my third touch with them so they're going on the Playlist now!
They’re so mf good. They’re too quick
23 as a musical theatre song was incredible.
I cried
The little mermaid shout was golden. I lost it.
What's the time stamp? I'm trying to show my gf and I can't find it lol
She goes "what's the word" and it like shifted something in me. How is Disney not locking these guys down...
@@mydogsareneat Pretty sure they sang a song for disney for their parks.
If Rick wants comedy and music get Vulfpeck on
Jack Stratton in a room with Rick Glassman would be wild
@@thomastrifari4638 RICK GLASSMAN ARE YOU LISTENING
Yesssss!!!
Omg yes! @vulfpeck
Vulfpeck would be so good.
Lawrence is a first touch band for me. Thanks for the rec Rick.
what do u mean with first touch?
I am obsessed with Lawrence. They have been playing in my head more or less non-stop for the past year
World needs a podcast that just hangs out with upcoming bands and jams
Isn't that what radio is? 😂 My guy were going full circle just wait until they start selling us AM radios again
I love when Rick gets musical, especially when he has a musical guest who is a musician. I feel he steps his game up and adds a lot of clever themes to the music.
Rick getting lost in bits because they don't understand he is doing bits and he doesn't know where to stop 😂😂
Hahahahahaha
@@rickglassman i think this sarcastic "HAHAHAHAH" is a bit aswell.... bro is morphing into "a man bit"
I love when Gracie said "No, it's fine, we are musicians because we like playing music". I freakin love it when someone actually wants to hear me play.
Never heard of these before but 10 seconds in their 1st song on the pod and they get an instant sub and follow on all of their music and socials. Thanks for the hook up Rick
that’s an example of a 1-touch fan right there
They are absolutely incredible and they are apart of Jon Bellion's label... if you dont know him check him out too it's a must
You are in for a treat. Lawrence is a hidden gem.
How raspy awesome will Clyde sound when he’s 50! Rick with the appropriate fawning for their talent. Cast Gracie in a musical.
the editor lining up scoot doo perfectly with last two chords was really well done. great soul in your work guys
I’rewatching this episode because it’s so good and I found Lawrence here and haven’t stopped listening to them.
The amount of tears of joy I have shed watching Lawrence over the past few years has been amorphous
Obsessed with Lawrence. ❤❤❤
They were a one touch for me. Heard Don’t Lose Sight and was HOOKED. Gobbled up the rest of their available discography the same date ❤
Singing like that sitting down... Is NUTS! I've never heard them but checking them out now damn
Imagine giving birth to not one, but two extremely talented musicians. Extraordinary 🤌🏼
Lawrence… one of THE best and most talented grooving bands out there today! Can’t wait to see them in AZ on Oct 8. If you want a band to get you bobbing your head to the beat with stank face going on same time… this your band 🤙🏼🤟🏼😀
What amazing talent and skill! And Lawrence the band is amazing too.
im 67 years old and this is my favorite band!
god her voice is absolutely insane, she makes it look effortless
Omg they're great, and Gracie has pipes. "I'm confident that I'm insecure" brought me to tears. Discovering a new fav band from one of my favorite podcasts is such a delight. Thank you, Rick!!
Wait til you find their acoustic-ish videos
Wow. Unreal guest selection. Amazing job
:|
I can’t think of a more accommodating and easy going, egoless conversation than that first 10 minutes. Three lovely humans.
One of my favorite bands!!! Can't wait to watch!! 🥺😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰🥰🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Im beaming like a little kid right now. So happy
Gracie and Clyde are just complete class and talent. I found them on TikTok a little over a year ago and I have to listen to at least one of their songs everyday.
Just came across this band a few months ago, and now they're on one of my fave podcast.
27:36 - 23

One touch of "Don't Lose Sight" (acoustic-ish) is all it took babbyyyyyyy
Real music, real vocals, real personalities. Perfect
The song “Don’t Lose Sight” was so awesome that I couldn’t stop listening, it got me hooked right away
I’ve never heard of this band. This girl is a goddess and I’m playing them on Spotify and their music makes my soul smile. Rick! Rick 🤖Rick! Rick!
Watched the pod, watched their entire catalog, now I’m back to watching the pod again
Same. 23 and confident have been Earworms the past few days. Thanks TYSO!
Watching the pod again
Cant believe I haven't heard of these two, gonna do a sit down and listen to their entire discography... One touch for sure.
So much fun. I really needed a little pick me up before work today. Life has been rough lately, and I thank you Rick for bringing some joy to these difficult times.
Just recently got into Lawrence, and I'm now obsessed with them.
their voices are insane. Such amazing singers.
I love the intro scatting after Rick singing at 0:52. Bunch of fun geniuses over in the TYSO studios.
I'm a one touch when it comes to Lawrence , heard " Do you wanna do nothing with me" once years ago and I was hooked. You guys are so good, keep it up !
The cuts to Rick reacting to the keyboard and singing are what makes it even better
Protect Lawrence at all costs. They are National Treasures.
So glad they’re now in the TYSO cannon, they are AMAZING live!
#2016CVilleTheSouthern
#2022CVilleTheJefferson
Never heard of this band before but my god are they amazing! That part when they did the musical version of 23, this has to be an album!
You can tell They're both genuinely good people.
The puppet bit is so funny. Rick is a menace
The cam on her reaction 😂
The way they just politely sat through it. 😅 They seem so nice
This left a tattoo on my heart. What an extraordinary act of kindness and gesture of love ❤
One touch fan here. Stumbled upon the Jimmy Fallon performance. My jaw was on the floor
Right at the start, Gracie's "omg you're in the stadium" I LOVE THEIR INFECTIOUS SPIRIT. You guys don't even know how much of a blessing y'all are, including Rick. Joy can be so foreboding these days so it's nice to see stuff like this
I love them so much. Glad more people are getting to hear their music! Cant wait to see yhem in Seattle. UNREAL TALENT!!💜🙌
I didn’t need 3 touches. As soon as saw the “don’t lose sight” acoustic video, I became a fan.
Rick thanks for introducing me to amazing musicians and the word amorphous
I can't unsee Julia Garner from Inventing Ana singing on the couch.
I can’t help but have a stank face when she sings ( in a good way lol) wonderful just a wonderful episode.
SOOOO Loved this! Lawrence The Band is AMAZING! Gracie's voice gives me chills, and Claude's is so reassuring!
legit "23" the musical by Lawrence would be a broadway classic
I would have loved to hear the inner thoughts from them during the "puppet routine" monologue. Rick has a gift of taking the line between serious and joking and making it rather amorphous.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???????? 10 seconds in and this is already my favorite episode
Comments for the algorithm! Lawrence is all gas. Watching them grow through the years has been awesome! Absolute first class music

All my life put a damn smile on my face, just hearing that piano intro. Damn throwback!
Love Lawrence. Great musicians and right now my most player band. Great seeing them get some new eyes on them.
Never heard of this group and I’m instantaneously hooked … just fantastic 🎉
Thanks to this podcast, it reminded me to check their European tour dates and I managed to grab the last two tickets to their London show last week! These guys are one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. Go and grab a ticket to your nearest show! You will not be disappointed ☀️🤯
Never heard of these two but wow. Listened to “confident” over and over.
First episode I've ever seen and now I'm hooked
SO surprised and pumped to see Lawrence the Band on TYSO. Worlds colliding and I love it 👀
not always a first touch guy, but this pod has had me listening to Lawrence all week.
"three touches"
"I already understand, but I still have to sit here while you explain it because that is what humans do."
God, this resonates with me, haha.
The cross-over I never saw coming and yet was exactly what I needed
full body goosebumps engaged. Gracie's voice gets me every damn time.
YESSS! Was so excited as soon as I saw who the guest was. These guys deserve all the love and attention they can get!
I love love love Lawrence! You rock for having them on...and I second getting Vulfpeck on! That would be an amazing episode!
This is so much perfect chaos. Thank you
"Do you have good pitch?" Relatively
"That's a funny thing to say"
😅 Gracie is a vibe
13:03 I love this band! I need to see them live ☺️
20 minutes in and i havent stopped smiling ear to ear

"We're siblings." Gracie and I shoot our shots in a similar style haha.
So that's why I call chicks "bro"🤔
@cloudbloom haha oh god, every guy I ever dated was referred to as dude so I feel ya hahah. Although, I meant she was trying to make it clear to Rick that she's not married to Clyde, subtle and odd shooting of the shot lolol.
Until Rick brought out the puppet, then she was second guessing everything
I loved that part, it was adorable but kinda obvious 😅
