- Finally got back to Snowdonia for a Wild Camp, in this video I head up to highest peak in Wales.. Yr Wyddfa aka Snowdon via the Pyg Track in full winter snowy conditions. The following morning I descend to the Pen Y Pass car park following the Miners path but not before having an epic wild camp by a llyn just below Snowdon

That mouse ont discos! 😂 I once left a glass o' whisky outside the tent on great langdale campsite and a duck drank the lot, tried to walk off and just kept falling over 😂😂 I ended up picking it up and putting it in some bushes to sleep it off, class!

Many animals seek out fermented fruit and will enjoy sweet tasting alcoholic drink but neat whisky no chance. I am guessing it was mixed with lemonade or the like? 2 shots/measures of 40% alcohol will likely kill a duck.

I would definitely recommend doing sharp edge before crib goch. Definitely a step up from striding edge

Great views. Done miners track twice both times total clag on summit and hang on tight wind conditions. Got to admire that mouse sniffing out Discos in the vast wilderness. Critters in tent, vole and hedgehog, vole ate through the floor.

@@GoodBlokeOutdoorsBTW crib goch isn’t THAT heavy in decent conditions. Only a small section which is a sheer ridge, the rest of it has at least one side you can shimmy across with either your left or right hip secured against rock.
Different story in ice though.

yes the last time i was hiking up there was when i was in my 30s liam but im 56 and into my winter wild camps just done a first time camp on ashhurst beacon by my house but id love to go back up now and camp the night, oh and that mouse was funny glad your stuff wasn,t chewed through 👍

Tryfan, also in snowdonia is a grade 1 scramble. Multiple routes up, via south ridge is popular. Not as menacing as Crib Coch

You'll be fine on crib goch, it's a little bit exposed but very doable, especially in summer. Main problem is on a good day it can be packed and you'll feel like you're stuck in a queue at some stages

Nice work mate, ive done crib goch a couple of times both occasions had sound weather, make sure its not windy its mostly a sheer drop all the way on one side and steep slope on the other side. If the weather's fine you won't have a problem, looking at the hikes your doing.

Curig, Betws y Coed every hour in winter, more frequent in summer. And other S routes from other towns in the area to Penypass, Rhyd Ddu, Snowdon Ranger.

Another great video Liam, you need a down pouch from Sussex outdoors - a small pouch which is handmade and perfect for keeping dehydrated meals warm whilst they rehydrate and also good for batteries and electrical equipment from the cold.
Get the lakeland scrambling guidebook.. there are so many decent grade 1 and 2 scrambles out there.. also grade 3, but thats entering climbing territory.. hope that helps.. aye

I was out recently ( kinder scout ) forgot my micro spikes , going up grinsbrook was quite dicey without them.. camped near the woolpacks... it was rather windy on the night,, but next morning was lovely. Put my first ever video (short ) up of my view.. going down Jacob's ladder without the spikes was interesting.. take care out there good bloke .. don't forget to shine on.

Halls Fell Ridge up Blencathra is fab and underrated, or the super renound Sharp Edge which is more popular with the tourists up ere.
Not the same kinda Ridge but Jack's Rake from Stickle Tarn to the top of Pavey Ark in the langdales is great fun too, in dry decent conditions as it can hold alot of water.
And my final and third reccomendation is Scafell via Lords Rake, now that is one hella a scrambley climb.
