I suppose that's why they mentioned yellowing of the skin, as that is a symptom of acute liver toxicity. Which can be serious (I forget the technical term for it atm). Whether there is actually a big risk for that or not all depends on a person's own general liver health I suppose, and what the liver is or will be made to filter out. I recently decided not to do kratom as there are so many variables that go along with it's manufacturing process overseas, and the fact that it isn't regulated. It can potentially contain pesticides, herbicides, various types of heavy metals at varying concentrations, etc etc. There doesn't seem to be a huge risk sticking to low doses, but you just never know with it being unregulated. Some people are reporting having seizures from kratom - albeit they all seem to be using obscene amounts multiple times per day. Like upwards of 80-100 grams per day... Several reports of testosterone depletion after long term daily use. Risk seems to outweigh the benefits in my own personal opinion. Unless you stick to a strategic plan for cessating opioid usage/withdrawal management. I deal with moderate to severe chronic pain and knowing all of these potential effects now, I wouldn't personally recommend it for pain management, even though it does work quite well. I imagine some of this could probably be applied to kava. Although it seems that since it's more of a celebrated herb/root/substance rather than a banned plant like kratom in some regions, there most likely is much better quality control of the product. And it's not being used simply as a marketed export, as I imagine kratom may be. I would definitely be careful with any relatively unregulated substance or supplement with limited research while taking prescription or OTC medication. I guess it's really falls on our own discretion and research whether it's safe or not.
a great video doesn't have a list of questions preceding. This video is garbage and helps no one and nothing. I'm a recovering alcoholic as well and have taken kava seriously in the past 6 months. It makes me think about my hardships in different ways and more importantly in healthier ways. It somewhat will clear your mind of excruciating deep thought and will let you sleep easy. I've been a kratom enthusiast for 5 years, but because of it's affects on GABA, sometimes kratom will keep you up. I still take Kratom for my chronic back pain. I have an injury in my mid spine and kratom is a hero in that respect. Kava doesn't feel good... it tastes funky and the sensations are alike to dirt weed from 10 years ago when all I could afford is trash cannibis. I hope you've figured it out already. The more the government tries to lock down the "CRazzy" drugs, the more we find out about other indole alkaloids that have been helping people for a longer time than the US government has even existed. Think what you want, do your own research. I'm just some asshole.... But if I didn't have kava and kratom, I'd still be killing myself. Alcohol is terrible. Personally, neither kratom or kava has been physically or psychologically addictive. I've tried to "get hooked" i.e. taken a bit too much intentionally for the sake of researching my own body and mind. These 2 things have helped me enough and are easy to measure. It's fun to consume because it takes work dialing in, and it's fun to watch my body rid itself of these compounds because it feels like nothing. Coming down of a poison... like alcohol... you can cure it with a drink....... I did that for 10 years. These don't feel like a come down. Depending on my particular anxiousness, I will adjust with either of these based on my understanding. I was drinking enough to kill a man every day for 10 years. MY experience is not yours. I recommend telling a therapist to go fcvk themselves.. You'll want to look after your liver. Neither of these affects your liver as much as alcohol or advil. Take NAC for habit forming prospects. NAC can help with picking behaviors that many associate with an alcoholic. And take TUDCA. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TAKE "TUDCA". TUDCA in conjuncture with NAC have been studied stand-alone, and in recovering patients. You can literally regrow your cells and fix your body. Some turkey tail mushrooms are also literal proven life-savers. I tried to kill myself with alcohol for 10 years. I didn't decide I've had enough, my family did. I've relapsed twice. I do take mirtazapine and Adderall daily, HOWEVER these are very low mg. I self medicate through knowing how my body reacts. It doesn't like booze... I likes these natural herbs. I can feel it in my clarity and demasking around strangers. I feel happy and very obvious to me, make others happy. I've become a beam of light. I only thought that was possible in people without my mental illness. I'm on the autistic spectrum which covers a litany of flaws, but now, I'm good at puzzles and math AND I make people happy without the decaying shht horribleness that is alcohol. I hope you find a nature-born remedy/balance and are inclined to help yourself. When I'm depressed, I don't want to hear this garbage... so, I hope you're sober enough to try some alternatives.
Functional alcoholic here. (Which I say meaning I work full time and for some reason people don't realise how fucking depressed I am lol) Currently giving kava a go to attempt to quit the booze. I've found sometimes it gets me high as hell like Xanax and sometimes it does nothing. It seems to impact my pooping. It's extremely dirt like in taste so it's not ideal if you can't force bad tasting stuff down. What I like is the high lasts between 45 mins and 1 and a half hours. It's short. And it takes 5 to 15 minutes to kick in. A good high will make me very happy and tangential to reality. My target is to abuse the hell out of the stuff and try and not drink for six months. Then ideally quit everything. So far I do find it less addictive than alcohol. Personally I feel like that is because I loath drinking it. It's quite an ordeal forcing a glass of it down. Lol. Just a random here saying my two cents.
Looks like it does cause liver damage. Bummer. Especially since I'm learning this as I enjoy my last sip of Yogi Kava tea after drinking it occasionally for a few years now. I guess anything that alters perception is technically a substance and there is no substance that isn't harmful in some way. I guess deep breaths and long walks are still the healthiest ways to relax.
Yeah if you go hard on it you'll wake up feeling groggy, but it's more comparable to a weed or melatonin "hangover" than it is to an alcohol hangover, no Rebound anxiety or puking lol. I wish I knew about kava at your age, it would've saved me from abusing opioids and benzos during high school which eventually led to me getting kicked out and having to get my GED at the local community College. Long story short benzos make you a PISSED OFF zombie overtime and you'll think people don't notice but they do.
Lol no hangover... sorry bro but your supplier is giving you 💩 Kava then. Also, it's been here in the US since the 1960's when my people brought it. It is an ancient and very sacred ceremony where the Kava is used by us South Pacific Polynesians. And no it isn't a Hawaiian drink as it was brought to Hawaii in recent years by us. It comes from Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
Compared to alcohol the hangover is mild. Kava gives you a mild hang over for maybe a hour or two. If you drink plenty of water during the sessions, I don’t feel it. I drink kwk, pretty good quality.

I drink kava every single day, I rarely ever drink alcohol.

(Which I say meaning I work full time and for some reason people don't realise how fucking depressed I am lol)
Currently giving kava a go to attempt to quit the booze.
Guys in Dayton Ohio whip it up into rocks and smoke it , it’s called Dayton Kratom
I'm watching this with a hangover from beer 😂 I prefer kava at least u wake up feeling better no hangover
Way to go reducing polenysian indigenous ppl to three exaggerated stereotypes
How bout they studied the earth knew planet alignment
Oh relax. What do you expect them to do, give a history lesson in 15 seconds?
Doesn’t mention if it is safe. Is it safe? Does it hurt the liver? Can’t get a straight answer on that:(
Looks like it does cause liver damage.
@@cobyup10 it can, but evidence is lacking at best. more research is needed, if you wanna take kava make sure to drink it in moderation
where is that kava shop?
I love how it makes me feel, but goddamn is this stuff bitter. I can't get it down. It's just so bad.
Wait someone legit says kava ain’t intoxicating never got crunk lol
A couple drops in the drink? I been straight shotting the whole drpper. No wonder I feel so good
Make it correctly 😂
That’s some heavy, hitting journalism. No mention of the dangers of liver toxicity when consumed with alcohol?
Can I smoke the powder?
Not exactly. Technically you could if you really wanted too, though there might be little to no effects
No, heat destroys the Kavalactones.
Snort it.
Inject it
Plug it
I just had some and wondering what the hell it is because it f’ed me up but I was able to drive normally
Can you OD from Kava
Is there anything to add to make kava taste a little better?
Hayden Nightingale just drink it quickly. It’s not really meant to be savored
@@ethanrooney5504 ok good to know. Yeah cuz it taste like dirt lol. And not even the good dirt, more like the dried up dirt.
Lots of time savouring it. Or just mix in a lot of sweet chocolate powder with it.
@Auto Highwayman
I actually want more food and drink ot taste like kava.
If you want you can add in milk to make it a lot more smoother
If you’re already depressed, it’ll make your depression worse eventually. It’s a central nervous system depressant
reference?
@@pcaul8156 read it on web md 5 minutes ago before i came to this vid if that helps
Yup!
That's doesn't work like this but you could be more addicted to this if your are depressed because you will fell relif after kava
That's not what central nervous system depressant means....at all. The opposite of a depressant is a stimulant, not an antidepressant.
just had some kava, I wouldn’t be driving ……. That’s super dangerous
Kava isn’t from Hawaii 🤦🏽♂️ where do these people get their info from 🤦🏽♂️
Boolah... what the blue moon 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Not new to us
interesting!! FRIENDS WOULD TAKE A THOUSAND TIMES KAVA KAVA FOR THE INCREDIBLE EFFECTS THAT BEER.
LEAVE ME YOUR COMMENTS, GREETINGS …
Watch out for your liver! Kava has to be taken in moderation and not everyday
Thanks
most of the studies are flawed. Some done by pharma with their own motives. Must use the roots.
Incorrect. The liver damage link is a myth and has been disproven. It is not bad for your liver.
So does alcohol but no one bats an eye for that one
Not true
Uh yeah, you can become intoxicated from it if you drink too much. So no, don't drive if you've had a bunch.
no hangover? i mean kinda😂 16 and i drink kava every weekend🇹🇴
Let’s gooooo.
Siana
Yeah if you go hard on it you'll wake up feeling groggy, but it's more comparable to a weed or melatonin "hangover" than it is to an alcohol hangover, no Rebound anxiety or puking lol. I wish I knew about kava at your age, it would've saved me from abusing opioids and benzos during high school which eventually led to me getting kicked out and having to get my GED at the local community College. Long story short benzos make you a PISSED OFF zombie overtime and you'll think people don't notice but they do.
I felt it the first time but my company (three people) didn’t 😁Definitely wouldn’t drive though
It comes from Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
could you educate me on it i want to try it for bad anxiety is it safe if drank proper im alaskan native we are very spiritual people
Compared to alcohol the hangover is mild. Kava gives you a mild hang over for maybe a hour or two. If you drink plenty of water during the sessions, I don’t feel it. I drink kwk, pretty good quality.
I’m confused on why they left Tonga out of the entire conversation 🤣🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
No one care about Tonga

It's Pacific Islander Fiji and Tonga Alcohol😂 lol From MOTHER NATURE.
Ok susu poki if you real you don’t have to change the flavor 😂😂
“There’s no intoxication”
If I took 9g of kratom and drove there would be casualties
Kratom is not Kava, two totally different plants
Kava NOT Kratom you dolt
You would drive better and be more alert taking 9gr of ķŕàýťømė(that's how I pronounce it)
@@chicofromph33nix64 That's the masculine way of saying it for sure. Kruh-tom and kraah-tum makes me cringe. It's Kray-tum or as I sometimes like to call it "that kray-kray"
@@chicofromph33nix64 9 grams of it?? No you fuckin wouldn't
kava+kratom+booze (only 3 beers top)=the smokeshop flip, it feels amazing. Kava is great on its own but I love mixing it with other shit too.
Good way to harm your liver.
@@johncarter1150 only certain parts of the kava plant are liver toxic/hepatoxic. That's why I said three beers tops too, although yes I strongly advise against mixing it with alcohol, doing it occasionally isn't gonna cause instant liver failure, I have my liver enzymes checked every other month and they're always perfect. I drink kava every single day, I rarely ever drink alcohol.
The smokeshop flip 😂
Do not listen to this guy lmao mixing a benzo opioid and alcohol is not safe😭
@@josephmunoz1323 for reals. You're just provoking yourself to get grand Mal seizures.
Be careful if you have liver issues!
They did a new study and found no correlation between Kava and liver issues. Look it up.
If that were the case, the majority of people in Samoa would have liver damage as they take much more than the recommended dose daily.
Smoke weed and drink kava. Don't drive
Intense and very euphoric combination
Where's the ceremonial part? They wild fake.
wtf this guy is just marketing himself to make money rofl
If you know kava, Tonga got the best! Kava Tonga…
Legit tho! Tongan kava is something else, I have a kilo and I only need to make one Kumete full and have 5 cups.... then I’m done for the night hahaha
Yea don't drive after drinking it
RUclips recommendation: Drinking Kava
Fijian: What in the Boo-lah is going on here.
Mmm that's one tasty cup of liver damage you've got there.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well what about alcohol and people drink that everyday with no health benefits.
You might want to read the new study conducted on Kava and liver damage. No correlation was found.
Bra you don't know kava
You did not just say “bula” means cheers💀💀💀💀
I cringed so hard .. and the way the say it too “Booola” 😫 it’s mBula ffs

The website says 25% alcohol by volume and do not drive/operate machinery if taken in excess? Guys. If your buying do the research.
Do it in moderation
I doubt that’s real noble kava if it has 25% alcohol in it.
👏🏾👏🏾
Kava ruins liver. Dyor
Other parts of the plant will, but the roots are safe.
No it doesn't.
Noble kava doesn’t. And don’t mix it with alcohol.
@@lebaldjames5033 I’m sure you did. Your probably just a troll working for a pharmaceutical company otherwise why would you be on here except to discredit it.
Calling it natures Xanax is insane
Not for me. I'm in severe benzo withdrawal am kava makes me feel almost normal. It can take 2 to 4 weeks to reach full effect. But it may not work for you in the Sam's way tho. Everyone's diffrent .godbless .
@@dustygatrell-ru7tgwhat benzo you currently on withdrawal? Did you taper benzo or just quit abruptly?
@@jayforex96 threw out the course of 9 years phyciatrist prescribed me xanax, Ativan, klonozopam and valuim. I mostly took xanax an klonopin tho. An I got put in jail for 100 days over some petty bullcrap, and they took me off within 2 weeks, wich is pretty much cold turkey. I've been in hard withdtssal for 7 in a half months give or take, an I just tried kava about a week ago. It helps releive the tension, wich is huge. But it also kinda makes my breathing weird, like a slowed down breathing. But only if I take to much at one at time. But it might not work for everybody. It can make some people feel weird. I've also heard of people using kava to ween off benzos to. And they say it worked pretty good for them. And then others say it doesent work at all. When I take kava, it's not a subtle feeling, it's very noticeable, I bought happy kava micronized an it's really strong. The other day I drank two cups of 1 tablespoon each and it completely f' d me up. Not in a good way. But I don't know since I started kava I've been able to exorsize again an that's really important because exorsize strengthens the nervous system, wich benzos weaken. So I'll take the good with bad, it's better then nothing.
