  • Kava’s reach has expanded from a cultural drink widely consumed in the Pacific Islands to Australia, where it is drunk at kava bars and sold in anti-anxiety pills.
    While the Australian Alcohol and Drug Foundation states that kava can reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety, enhance mood and improve sleep, it warns the consumption of kava carries some risks.
