Bro I just got this kit, which heads are you using? I cant get my kick to sound half as thumpy as yours haha.
On the kick, Evans Hydraulic on the batter side, stock on the resonant. No Hole! This is crucial, do not port the kick! No muffling. Medium low tension front and back. Evan’s black eq pad on the batter as well. Snare is Evans coated G2 tuned medium low tension. Stock snare side. Toms are Temu pinstripe knockoffs tuned as low as I can without sounding weird.
Well that is a bad ass sound. Not classifying it- but 1st impression or thought was DEVO. But really a lot different. I remember 80’s trippy or something bands. Missing Persons, TalkingHeadsetc.
I was really leaving the 70’s disco as a kid and by high school 84 or so- the thrash stuff came around.
Nonetheless you got a sound that kinda washes through the brain but still compels you to pay attention.

@@demonicsweaters I started to look at a cple of your videos- you have a lot of playlists. I have like 5 or whatever (excerpt of my Cosmology book). But I saw 1 and probably a lot more ABSTRACT would be a good word on your RUclips. I figure DEVO was of course as lightly mainstream as can be for that side kick of punk- I guess or whatever genre. Not the hard punk but older definition.

It's tiny! It's a 10x5, 8" and 10" toms, and 14" kick, Tama Club-Jam Flyer. Thanks man! I love 900s. They're a fantastic sounding line.
