Mine's got the Evolve remap and Eventuri as well but I've got the revised filter cone which allows higher velocity airflow inside the Eventuri. The remap gains 20HP and around 20Nm torque. Mine's currently pushing around 360BHP and 385Nm torque. The Evolve map for the S54 gains all of its power from 6000rpm all the way to 8300rpm. In stock form the S54 stops making power at 7500rpm, so the last 500rpm to 8000 is just for noise. The remap continues to make power to 8300 and the dyno graph shows this. Yours will be similar I guess assuming it's in a similar state of health as mine. From 3000rpm the Eventuri burble kicks in so driving around town in 3rd and 4th gear just applying mild throttle the Eventuri just sounds so good rumbling away. For anyone out there reading this and wants to buy an E46 M3 in today's world, there are some major things you MUST consider before buying, because many owners won't have had these things seen to and only the true enthusiasts are likely to have had bits sorted with cars of this age and common mileage. 1: Conrod bearing shells. Should consider replacing them at 80k miles. BMW even recommend this now for the E46 M3, Bearing shells will fail and once they do, you either need a new donor engine, or an engine rebuild. Shell replacement is labour intensive, typical cost is circa £2000. Stick to OEM BMW bearing shells. 2: Complete bushes refresh. This will transform how the car rides. Most owners just replace the bushes once they flag up on an MOT advisory. At the kind of mileage these are now at, a full refresh of every bushing is more ideal and will make the car feel more planted and like a new E46 M3. Sharper steering, more stable at high speed, better road feel etc. 3: Oil service between every book service. So standard is: Oil service > Inspection 1 > Oil service > Inspection 2 (then repeat) every 15k miles for each service. Have an interim oil service every 5-7k miles. These are high revving engines with very small tolerances for internal components. The bearing shells especially will last longer with fresh oil every 5000-7000 miles rather than every 15,000 which is simply too long for an oil change. Stick to BMW advised oil, so Castrol Edge. 4: Brake fluid with typ200 fluid is a nice upgrade. Higher boiling point so less fade under heavy braking on the stock brakes. PFC Z Rated pads are a great upgrade and reduces brake dust buildup on the wheels too. 5: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres are a MUST. I had Super Sports on mine before but the PS4S are just better on the road in every situation. The grip is unreal. They also last just as long if not longer. Forget about any other brand of tyre, these are the only tyres you will ever need on this type of car. Supersport are too loose in cold and wet conditions and DSC intervenes too often by comparison. 6: Eventuri intake kit. This will transform the sound of the engine. The induction noise will be similar to a CSL, especially if your E46 M4 is a 2005 or 2006 model as they share the exhaust manifold of the CSL as standard. 7: At least once a year have a full laser alignment check done. Potholes and bumps will knock out alignment which does result in uneven tyre wear, fuel economy or weird handling or floaty feel at motorway speed. There are loads more things but they are common fault items that will almost certainly have been seen to by the previous owner if they had come up. With the above items, without paperwork proving they have been done recently or at some point in the not too distant past, I would walk away or demand a much lower asking price from the seller. Many sellers will attempt to sell at a high price because it's an E46 M3. Don't fall for it even if it's just had a valet and is all nice and shiny.
Videos like this prove it's not just the cars bringing us back to watch, the bants between these two was awesome. Beats having some guy just pulling faces in the passenger seat as Ricky nails the car hard! Good content Ricky.
LOL !!! At first I thought this was all about a Beemer with a Sachs performance upgrade!! Apparently, Sachs is the owner of a wicked M3 E46 who has a natural sense of British humour and a pair of Neo-look sun glasses !!
😂😂 I had to stop the video before You entered the car to comment on how much I enjoy the chemistry between the two of you. Now back to the rest of the video. 🙌🏽✌🏽🙏🏾👌🏽
Be wary of rear subframe cracks. can usually see them around diff mounting point or in lower bits of wheel well. If its smg just pin it a bit and see if any issues arise. Other than that theres not much that goes wrong with the cars. S54 is very very solid engine just dont buy it from dodgy weird guys.
This was truly refreshing and I love the brotherly vibes . You guys are great friends and have a common love for cars. Beautiful M3 mate. Keep it up 👏🏽👏🏽
‘You took your sandals off the video video yeah?’ The banter in this video was on point man.. had me creasing... but still the content was also on point. Sick video 👌🏼
Not as much of a fan of the newer bmws as I am of these timeless classics. I am a sucker for these old German cars, this e46, the Audi b5 rs4 etc. Great review and Sachs is jokes. 5 star review Ricky 🔥👍 or should I say sebastian 🤣
This was the best episode/showing yet. That lad is super chill and funny, car is a vibe proper like thse older looking BMs compared to the new aesthetics. Always wanted one of these or a e38
VERY envious of that Eventuri intake system!! And props for keeping it N/A!! Even I'm succumbing to supercharge mine after I finish the engine rebuild in the coming weeks ;) .. long live the E46 M3 and the S54B32 motor, absolutely legendary~
sach comes out of his m3... compliments ricky's size, asks him how much he benches then talks about stroking his face ngl i would of swerved straight away typa guy to feel ur leg up when ur driving
Sach needs to feature more on the channel.
Sobanel yess the banter was unrea!!!
You can’t help but like this guy, old school, N.A, manual, rear wheel drive.👌🏾
If ricky put on the owner's sunglasses he would look like...
MORPHEUS from the MATRIX 😋😂
@Live Drives Club your M3... is yummy mate... poster car all day long 👍
