The official video they are sitting on the studio floor singing it and the vocals and harmonizing is outstanding.. watch it.. you'll love it more than this one
Yes, watch the official version - then watch the Jimmy Fallon/Jack Black cover/re-creation of that video, which is amazingly good yet a parody ... or an homage, it's hard to tell.
"Get The Funk Out" will definitely show you the "extreme" side of this group. It's another of their hits, and it will have you moving for sure. Big club hit back in the day!
Excellent song to just listen to for the harmonies. A guitar and two vocals harmonizing...doesn't get a whole lot better than that ❤ Their studio version is a must listen to!
Nuno Bettencourt is one of the greatest guitar players to ever live. Extreme have lots of rockin' tracks and they just had a huge comeback album in 2023 the album was called "Six" and have a song called "Rise" where Nuno shows his talent in the guitar solo. Also the singer Gary Cherone had a brief stint as the singer of Van Halen.
I'd have to disagree. 90's was best by far for hip hop and alternative but the 70's was best for rock, the 80's was best for metal and pop. Idk about R&B, it was great in the 80's and 90's. Can't speak for country because I never listened to it. Music in general was just great up until the early 2000's. Not many artists seemed authentic after that.

Ok, now you have to hear their son "Get the Funk Out". When I was 19 years old, these guys used to play at local club/bar that was 18 and up near me before they made it BIG. Nuno Bettencourt was the lead guitarist on several of Rihanna's tours and has played with a number of other artists as well. The other guy, lead singer Gary Cherone, had an ill-fated stint as Van Halen's front man for a minute.
Saw Gary with Van Halen live and he nailed it. He was great. The album sold well but not Van Halen well. And Gary and Eddie wrote stuff that was a good deal different than the standard stuff and people weren’t ready for it. Probably should have done that on the second album. I love your reaction, especially when it's someone you haven't heard before. I wonder if you've ever heard Cliff Richard and Olivia Newton John sing "suddenly"? There's a video with them (maybe late 70's or early 80's) where they're on a balcony and then walking into an apartment where there's a fire going in the fireplace. I think you'll like that duet as well.
Extreme was a fairly obscure hard rock band that hadn't had any popular success until they suddenly released this ballad which went straight to #1. It's not uncommon for hard rock bands to score their biggest hits with unexpected ballads (e.g., Kiss with "Beth") Extreme had a catchy follow-up hit ("Hole Hearted," #4 in 1991) and then faded out again.

Nuno. Oh THAT man is PDC without even opening his mouth.
Lol! That's how I feel about Gary!!! Super nice down to earth guy, I've seen the guys so many times in concert over the years and I've seen Gary in one of his side projects called slip kid and he's such a great vocalist
Just the duo from the band sing this song. This song was an FU to critics that said the heavy metal band could only scream.
You gotta check out their official music video "HOLE HEARTED". ❤
I’ll check it out!
If you ever watch a live Rihanna video you might notice Nuno there playing guitar. He's been her guitar player for ages.
There's a song with a very similar message called "When You Say Nothing At All". The best cover of it IMO is by Alison Kraus.
It seems that almost every rock band has a ballad that winds up being a big hit. It happened to Extreme also as they're primarily a true rock band. Truth be known, they don't like performing this song and they hate that it defines them.
oh no a live version again. still beautiful though
You should check out Hole Hearted by Extreme. Cool tune. The official video version is the best.
Harmonizing is easy - harmonizing well is fucking hard. You can half ass it, these boys do not
You should do the music video for Get the funk out
Nuno Bettencourt. On guitar. PDC. Nuff said.
Premier guitar player. Tour with many including Steven Tyler and Rihana.
This is a great song but You gotta do the official vid. They harmonize soo much better and the vid rocks!!!
This was huge and I can't remember anything else they ever did.
Their other great song is Holehearted...check it out 😊
Nuno is a guitar god.
It was the joke that the rest of the band didn’t have anything to do, hence the card playing. I think they’re reading magazines in the video
And holding up lighters during this lovely ballad !
Nuno Bettencourt on the guitar is gorgeous! He also has played guitar for Rihanna on all of her world tours. They are not related.
They're not related? Whaaaa?
They are four member band dear, not duo ❤❤
They are a heavy rock band, their other songs are on the heavier side.
Yeah, why keep doing live? This live is cool but thr original is smoother and shows why this song has lasted. Love you BReacts
They're not brothers and actually had a falling out. Eventually, things got mended, and they recently put out a new album, and are touring now.
This song transients the eges
