💫 Being human is a given. But keeping our humanity is a choice
The release date of this song was Aug 7, 1990. My wife and I as teenagers started dating in the summer of ‘91. I was 17 she was 19. She really liked this song. I played guitar since I was a kid. I secretly learned to play this song for her. When I played it for her I told her I learned it just for her and she cried.
We are 45 and 47 years old now and have been together since 1991!
This is our song. Still today I’ll pick up my guitar and start playing it out of the blue for her. She still gets a tear because she knows when I play this song there are no words but she knows I love her.
Same age as you. It was a great song when it came out and still is. Right on, brother. Well Done. Love to you both.
Nothing can replace the history that you have with each other.
That’s awesome man, wish I could learn to play this song. Idk. One day....
Que historia bonita . parabéns .
I feel like I'm ruining your story, but I have one about this song too. I dated a girl whose brother ended up being a guitarist in Deep Blue Something. He saw me playing the guitar and I showed him how to play this. So I just wanted to apologize if I had anything to do with the existence of Breakfast at Tiffany's
"Their voices are so..." NON-AUTO TUNED!
Hell yes
"They sound so real"
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
A clean room with a little reverb. Dont hear this sound anymore.
They used to sound nearly that perfect in concert as well
I love how it’s just two voices and a single acoustic guitar.
Yup. Nowhere to hide on this one! GO BIG OR GO HOME.
Most of Extreme's music was hard rock. This ballad turned out to be their best work and easily proved that they had amazing voices.
True artists❤
Great song!
Real talent
How good that two singers and an acoustic guitar can sound that amazing.
What's more amazing is... The artists are assholes in real life. Both Gary and Nuno. Other people in the industry can't stand working with them. If you couldn't separate the craft from the person, you'd never listen to them and hear this wonderful piece.
Freddie Mercury and Brian May can sound even better and with just one voice: Love Of My Life, a song which Extreme also covered (and paid tribute to) very well, but still not quite the same...
g😊😊😊 ...pl😊 😊😊😊yyc😅😅@@OlJackBurton
This song is so beautiful. The band apparently hated it because they are actually a headbanger band but wrote and sang this and showed their beautiful voices and the world ate it up. I feel it all every time I hear it. So perfect. Thanks for playing!
It's exciting to see newbies feel what many of us have felt over the years hearing this song as teens. Great reaction!
Nuno Bettencourt is an under rated guitarists.
Not really, he is well known as a beast.
Nope. He's very admired as a guitarist. An awesome shredder
He gets his due, has 2 signature guitars and is on tons of greatest lists.
A master of understatement, I see. Also check out Marc Bonilla.
It's hard to believe that after Extreme broke up when Gary joined Van Halen, Nuno played in Rihanna's touring band.
Another example of a hard rock band doing a mellow song. Love this!!
I'm old enough to remember when this song came out, and it still sounds as beautiful today as it did back in 1991. You should consider doing a reaction to "Nights In White Satin" by The Moody Blues. It's another beautiful blast from the past.
It's songs like this that make old times say the music of today is crap lmao
@@johnowen9658 The 90s are old times now? Damn I'm getting old.
@@KurNorock the 90s where almost 30 years ago now, so yeah... We are getting old

Dont worry about your emotions.... that's just one of the things everyone on here love about you. Keep it up
100% with you on that Dave !!
10000% agree!!!!
A timeless masterpiece of honest, real singing and acoustic guitar. Ages like a fine wine.
Perfect reaction to a beautifully written and performed song! It gives me chills everytime. Flawless.
Eric Clapton “Tears in Heaven” will get you crying for sure. Especially with the backstory of his child’s passing.
could try "Sunshine of my love" also
I think Tears in Heaven is one song that everyone should experience at one point in their life ❤️
Change the world by Clapton and baby face is the chit
@@ofacetious1288
The song, but not the experience that caused the inspiration for the song. Eric wrote it as a coping mechanism to deal with his grief. Eric Clapton eventually stopped performing the song live, because of the impact the loss of his child had on his life.
Yeah that was really terrible how that song came about
GIRL, I LOVE WITNESSING YOU DISCOVER GREAT MUSIC! Passion provokes emotions. Music makes me cry because its beautiful and the lyrics are magical.
I recorded this on tape off the radio almost six months before it hit big and tried to tell everyone about it and no one paid any attention to it. Then, six months later, everyone wanted to tell ME about this great new song!
I was a teen in the 90's and while I was only 11 or 12 when it first came out, it was such a great song and stayed so relevant that I was a total sucker for it! Loved this song! Not sure if it is as big as it once was, I suppose not but it is still relevant and if you don't have it on a playlist somewhere, you are missing out!
Brandy Sexton trust me, it’s still relevant to this day and just as awesome as it was 30 years ago! Love this song and play it regularly!! Never gets old!!!!
You know the song is incredible when at the end you're left speechless and emotional.
As an empath, you need to react to MY IMMORTAL by Evanescence. The voice alone of Amy Lee but the lyrics are incredibly powerful.
Yes!
Yaaasssssss!
Agreed
That'll most likely bring her to tears
Yes, but the album version not the heavy radio version.
@@michaelbronco1023 I didn't realize that there was a radio edited version
Love your reaction!! Beautiful - powerful -awesome song.
I remember when this was popular ... and i was SO different from everything else being played on rock stations.
their harmonies are beautiful.
Believe me, i had the same reaction. And i fell in love with Nuno Bettencourt, the guy playing guitar. He wrote the song.
This is right out of the era of the best time of my life. The fun we had back then...Probably mostly illegal now, but it was great. Thanks for reacting to this.
Ethereal harmonies. So beautiful.
"What did I just hear?"
You just heard music!
You know those feelings you're trying to contain, but almost cannot, at the end?
That's one of the things music does.
Indeed. That's the feeling most modern pop music does not produce, because... well, you can probably figure that part out for yourself at this point, can't you? :-)
What you heard was what every man feels looking at the woman he loves. But most of us don't know how to say it in a way that gives those feelings justice. So Extreme did it for us.
This was Selena's favorite song her sister said. She would sing it in the back of the tour bus with Chris
Selena...that would be more than beautiful, it would be Godly. I saw Selena at Texas Stadium in Dallas....I think i was the only Gringo!
You have a very empathetic heart! So rare these days! Love your insight on these songs!!
I saw them in concert. That man sat on his chair right in front of me singing this song. I wouldn't trade that experience for almost anything in the world.
Haven't heard that song in years. Such a wholesome and sweet song 💙
How about “To be with you” by Mr Big. Thanks
For sure
That's exactly what I was just thinking
Yes, that goes well with this song.
Just as cheesy. Why not some Firehouse after that?
@@billybee3423 Fuck Firehouse! Cheesey maybe... but those albums sold millions! And next you're going to tell me Billy Sheehan, Paul Gilbert and Nuno Bettencourt aren't world class musicians!
This song speaks to something so simple and yet true, words have power but unless the actions are there in support of it then there is nothing. I can say "I love You" but then if I do not show it in other ways then it is just that, words...
Hi Sis. I'm so happy to be on this journey with you as you discover new and different music. I was like you are with rap back in the day, except I was a 60's and 70's rock guy. Now I like everything from rap to folk music. There is just way to much talent in the world to stay on one thing. At least that's what I think anyway.
Yes, agreed. Variety has so many perks! :)
This was one of those songs that signalled the end of the 'hair bands'. Suddenly those bands had to 'prove their worth' by releasing acoustic songs. Mr Big, Tesla, Extreme... it became a very successful formula for a year or so.
Most groups from the 50s 60s 70s early 80s live performance they did serenade the crowd they got them involved emotionally no matter what style they were
Extreme is one of my favorite bands and I loved your reaction! It's nice to see music move people like that! Keep up the good work! Very enjoyable! Be blessed!
One of my favorite songs when I was teenager. Simple song and to the point.
Listening to this song with you made me feel like i was hearing it for the first time! Love your heart! You brought me joy today, THANKS!
just discovered your channel, and from one empath to another, I could never do a channel like this, you'd see more tears, and it would be hard for me to actually speak!
I sit in my garage, most evenings and just listen to music, and get lost in that music, and much water seeps from my eyes, as most of the music I listen to is from back in 'my' day, when love songs and love 'rock' ballads were the norm.
One of the most sincere reactions I've ever seen, thank you for that!
I’ve seen this video many, many times, but watching your reaction made me 😢 cry. So beautiful! I’m empathic as well, and even though you weren’t in the same geographical location as me, I felt you, girl!!!❤️
Welcome to the 90's power ballads.
Such a beautiful reaction to Extreme! Love that you’re an empath! So happy I found your channel!!
The completely acapella version is AWESOME!
This is real music from the heart. In this millennium none such feel and connection could compared from the old school vibes. We need this in times of hard times the world is going through right now!
Beautiful song, Beautiful harmony and guitar. " I Love You " is easy to say. The actions of love is proof of I love you. Don't just say it. Show me. I love this song it simplifies what love is all about. Two people know if they're loved with just how they treat each other. Another beautiful reaction.
I’ve been binging on your videos and I’m really enjoying your perspective on a lot of songs I grew up on. It’s like watching a friend hear songs I love for the first time. Excellent job, keep it up!
It sucks that the official video cut off the rad ending but it doesn’t detract from how epic this ballad was and how well it has aged. Nuno is a guitar virtuoso and you should check out their song Get the Funk Out. Thanks Sushi for playing songs from the soundtrack of my youth!
This song is harder vocally than most people think. So many flips from head voice to chest voice to a mix and keeping time for the harmony.
As a fellow Empath & Sensitive I can relate. Despite having heard this song many times since it came out, I still get goosebumps. ✌🙏
You're perfect. I hope you never have to go through the kind of pain it took to break me. Someone as beautiful as you are (inside & out), should always receive back... all the joy that others get, just by looking into your eyes or seeing that amazing smile on your face.
JC Baber That was an amazing compliment..It just reminded me of a song called “Whatever it is” by Zac Brown Band..no homo sis, but you are adorable, but that heart of yours is “Golden” (coming from a fellow empath😉
Mr. Big "To Be With You"...you're welcs lol 😉
I graduated in ‘94 and this was the best song at school dances for the slow dancing 🥴
My fave tune I was 13 when this hit the charts lol I'm 40 now feel old lol
Another big hit from Extreme is "Hole In My Heart". If you never heard it, give it a shot. You will like it.
This is when people actually had singing talent
I love this song so much, my dad always used to play it when I was little and now that I'm growing up and getting older I am starting to fully appreciate just how beautiful it is
This song, this version has always made me tear up🥺
Gary cherone, the lead singer said, this song was written from his wife's perspective.... He said like she was singing to him. BTW.. Saw them in 1991,austin tx at the BACKROOM!
Can’t act like that guitar player wasn’t dreamy LMAO. I’m straight as hell but that hit when I was in like 4th grade and I’m man enough to admit dude was dreamy.
i actually thought of nuno to be like the real life version of tarzan when i was a little lol
"Man everyone is gay once in awhile..." - Kirk Lazarus, Tropic Thunder
LOL!!!!
I mean this in the most genuine and honest way. You are beautiful !
For an energetic and fun song by Extreme, try Hole Hearted.
Or He-man Woman Hater. Or Get the Funk Out... Or anything from the Pornograffitti album, really.
"WOW" is what I said the first time I heard this when it was released....and I was a complete metalhead at the time!
I also said "WOW" the first time I saw one of your reaction videos because you are GORGEOUS! Just sayin'.
can't stop thinking about when Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon did this song lol. good song.
That’s so awesome! I’m empathic too, and you’re right. It’s very powerful!
sarah mc clachlan i will remember you, esxape club, i'll be there, and scorpions wind of change, gee i was 6 when this song came out
Hi. I was watching your video when and you talked about how you hear certain music you can provoke emotions. I seriously thought I was the only person that could do that. When I hear songs especially ones that have meaning in my life I feel it through my body and it hits my emotions hard. Thanks for the video and no you didn't look small on the couch
Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon did a version of this song. They paid tribute to it and also made us laugh in the nicest way. Of course, the original was very beautifully done.
When two brothers, who can sing, sing together ....... EPIC. I am old enough to remember when Extreme came out.
They aren't brothers. I remember when they came out too. "Play With Me" was used in the mall chase scene from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
@@helmedon I think More Than Words kinda overshadow the other songs and it annoys me! so many people I know have heard More Than Words but no other song then that! Play With Me, Mutha Don't Wanna Go To School Today, Get The Funk Out are awesome! and the guitar work on Play With Me and Mutha Don't Wanna Go To School Today are fantastic (I'm too young to have heard this music when it came out but I grew up with this band amongst other bands like Kiss and Def Leppard) would love to see her react to their other songs!
You should react to Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon’s cover of this. It’s hilarious and actually awesome

You have high levels of empathic intelligence and to read off the emotions of others. Is a unique gift. You are no doubt able to listen better than most to others and help them. You are so in tune with positive emotions, which you empower onto others. Hats off to you and stay gold
Brad Paisley- Whiskey Lullaby... the official video.
#TooSushi ... It was/is a great Song... Well Done... Great Songs - Crossover... Entered Billboards 100 in March 1991 at 81 and then when straight to #1... You couldn't turn on the Radio for a Hour without hearing this song 4 times... Heavy Rotation in songs form and MTV/VH1 wore this song out in Video form... I never was a fan of this band; but this song was a HIT!!!
I'll try suggesting this again (I know you get TONS of suggestions) ... *STAY* by Sugerland. :)
A major tear jerker song. Love Sugerland!
I like "Baby Girl" also.
I accidentally "found" that song years ago. I couldn't last til the end of the video. I've NEVER felt emotional about a song before that. 😭😭Haven't watched it since. Gonna try today. Lol.🤣
That was pure MELODIC music with emotions of love for that person. Brings me back to my Senior year of High School and I'm playing the song in the background while talking to my crush on the house phone. Those were the days!!
If you like harmony you should listen to the Everly Brothers let it be me it's a very old song but a very beautiful song.
When this song came out, every guitarist I knew was trying to work out how to play this. Legendary...and the vocals!! Back when you could make a great song with just a guitar and two superb vocalists. No auto tune, just pure talent.
Mr Bigs "To Be With you" You will enjoy
One of the best duets ever!! Makes me cry every time. Loved and embrace your reaction.
Now you have to do Jimmy Fallon and Jack Blacks cover of this song. Legendary!

If you have never heard of Extreme or this song you probably don't know that Gary Cherone (on the left/white shirt) was the lead vocalist for the band Van Halen for a few years in the 90's. He followed the two prior vocalists David Lee Roth & Sammy Hagar. This song showcases Extreme's beautiful harmonies. RIP Eddie Van Halen 1/26/55 - 10/6/20 - Rock legend & guitarist.
