No it's not. It has some of their best work, but also a few questionable tracks and some filler. At 12 to 14 songs, it's their best album and a real masterpiece. As a double album, it falls short, especially on the second disc. Some of the tracks don't fit in "tonally" with the bulk of it. As for Jimmy, he's amazing and reminds me of one of my other favorite drummers, Phil Collins, during his Genesis run up until 1980.
There’s so many great songs on Mellon Collie. But there’s something about Jellybelly that just encapsulates the entire feeling of the late 90s and being a teenager. The way the song continues to crescendo and build is just an incredible feeling. The feeling of youth, and uncertainty. The feelings of puppy love and your first girlfriend and the moment when you first kiss. When your whole life is right in front of you and you feel like everything is going perfect but could also derail at any moment. All of these things together is how Jellybelly makes me feel. Z

Gotta love Jimmy. The guy is super humble for being in one of the most influential Rock groups of the 90's. And you can tell he Loves what he gets to do for a living. He's one of the guy's who deserves all the money he's made.
As much as I loved other contemporaries of Pumpkins in the 90s, SP just had this magical blend of virtuoso / auteur / music-nerd / perfectionist yet totally wild carefree edge to them that was just so next level at the time. The dynamics are so explosive and emotional yet executed with such an ease its this amazing balance of elements. Billy and Jimmy were 2 mad geniuses I tell you.
How he gets such intensity and dynamics from such a light touch is astounding. He looks so calm but sounds like he's knocking seven shades out of the kit!
I love how Jimmy's face NEVER matches the ferocity of what he's playing. Face looks as emotive as if he was waiting in line at the DMV, meanwhile his arms are EVERYWHERE. So stoic, like Charlie Watts, but with so much more going on. Such an amazing drummer!

Some super drummers but the were like 10 ton gorillas behind the kit swinging limbs But JC is so focused,his technique makes it look effortless. He originally recorded this song single strokes on the snares but even now he's using double strokes and making it look effortless. Always advancing.
What's he talking about he's a young man at heart he enjoys the hell out of what he does and he is a master drummer I've been digging his drumming since 9th grade 1991 starting with Gish..... Melancholy and Siamese twins. He's a drummer at heart & he's come a long way since his days with substance abuse and I really commend him for that. Just an all-around good person he's got a great soul. He's a master musician and Kick-Ass drummer
The two albums he missed due to rehab were missing the soul he gives the band. I saw them live during the Adore tour and it took them three drummers to fill his place on stage.
Jimmy is the greatest “alternative/grunge” drummer. One of the greatest through all genres, and my f#%^*+ng hero. His drumming adds so much to their sound and feel, and feeel is what the pumpkins do best
I saw the Pumpkins play a couple weeks ago in Greenville, SC, it was my first time as a 30+ year fan and absolutely amazing. Seeing Jimmy's ridiculously complex drum kit on stage was eye-opening. I feel like drummers often get overlooked, but he is insanely talented. ❤

I remember an interview in the 1990s where Jimmy Chamberlain said he wasn’t sure he wanted to be playing jellybelly when he’s 50
He talks in this interview about how he has a drum teacher and he's learning to play songs like this smarter by playing double strokes and stuff.
He's now pushing 60.

Jimmy is one of the few busy drummers that I like, because everything he plays is still tasteful and has major groove and he never overplays.
