- Don't get me wrong, this Proton X70 is not all bad. It's just that it came about in 2018 and it is felt! All the rivals are just so up to date and spot on that this poor old guy can't really compete. And it's sad because it is actually a pretty decent product. I am really excited to see what the next generation X70 will be like because if this is where we are kicking off from, then I think the rivals may need to keep an eye on Proton. I am yet to drive the X50 which is a new model and I so I really look forward to getting into that soon.

That broom is not for purifying the air.... it is to clean the touchscreen computer's memory/cache of open apps, and history usage...

Haibo Juliete, i just had this car for a week, hired, the fuel consumption was brilliant i thought. The car had 6600km. I did not like the boot as it was small, the steering was not leather covered therefore slipped. the worst was the aircon screen display (you see nothing during the day) cruise control activation was not lekker for me. Its punchy though. It has a comfortable ride. Good product for those interested.
Thinking that the broom icon is an air cleaner is one of the blondest things I've ever heard someone say 😂
I think you cleared the cache on the the Infotainment system instead of using the ionizer 😂
The ion button is on the climate control which is a physical panel. Also ionizers are common air cleaning technology used in Asia due to poor air quality. Some cars come with it as standard and some aftermarket companies make USB cupholder devices. Same thing at home, it's common for people to have air purifiers😅
The fuel consumption is a tad bad but the tiny fuel tank for a big car doesn't help matters. The 1.8 which is not available in SA is much worse but has more grunt.

Darling...these new petrol engines will never give us the awesome fuel consumption of a well refined diesel engine. I will stick to my 7 seater D5 Volvo that give better fuel consumption than that 3 cylinder scream itself to death engine...😉
