This should be one of the first things a practitioner should learn. Too many people just read words, wave their hands around and expect results. Or they drain themselves quickly doing a simple spell. Also learning energy control is very important. If you are in a coven working and you don't restrain or control your energy flow, it can really cause problems. Shielding isn't just to protect yourself from others energy but also can be used to protect others from your own energy. Thanks for the vid HearthWitch, you provide really good 101 videos.

Many also jump straight to spell work..
Worst I read was a new witch guiding another new witch: “ You dont need to wait, you can start doing spells straight away and learn energy work on the side. Oh, and dont worry about accidentally draining someone elses energy, that happens all the time…”

This is very interesting to me. I've never worked with another Witch before on Spells so it just sounds like it'd be intense AF working with a Coven what with all the energy being controlled in 1 room.

It’s so true that non of these beginner books explain using energy. They shouldn’t even be telling how to do a spell before explaining how to work with energy. The first book I read that explained it was psychic witch. It taught me so much.

It makes sense. It's what's powering our spells so if you don't do it correctly a lot could go wrong.
I’m a beginner but I love hearing about more advanced techniques just because it’s fascinating. I won’t try those things yet but it’s nice to know they exist, and it answers questions too.

The concept of magickal batteries is exceptionally brilliant! I've never heard anyone else speak of this. It would be wonderful if you could do a video specifically on magickal batteries with things like home protection and how to link the two. This would be incredibly important information to share with the magickal public! Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into this work. I very very much appreciate you!! PS: when you were talking about celestial bodies I thought about satellites in orbit which basically are giant chunks of metals (specifically gold which doesn’t corrode?) and minimal electronics (also gold). They will be circling the earth for decades, possibly longer. I wonder if there's somehow they could be utilized magickally, perhaps as a type of battery itself? Why not right? I believe there are actually apps that will track and map specific satellites as well.

Can I just say, I've been looking for quality witchy content..I'm an "intermediate" who took a long break because I felt stagnant in a lot of the beginner content and repetitive resources.

I use stones for extra energy when I need it. They seem to have an ever replenishing energy to them from an animist perspective. Often I will use my personal energy in spell work and then replenish it with an elestial quartz.
You sound pretty knowledgeable. Your stones powered by the sun or the moon can give you a huge energy boost if you need it.

In order to not run out of my personal energy I meditate first in order to draw energy from my higher self. This is visualized from drawing from above and below me in a giant column. It works!

Whenever I need extra energy I reach for wind. I realized that I could summon up a pretty brisk wind at will in my teens and it can give off a lot of energy, but my husband thinks I'm a bit crazy because I always keep the windows cracked and tell him I feel stifled when he closes them. I also have a lot of plants that I talk to almost every day, unfortunately I didn't realize how deep my attatchment to them was until I got the rona and all but a few of my most loved plants withered and died within a matter of days. That made me so incredibly sad and now I feel guilty asking my plants for energy even though I now realize how willing they are to simply give. ❤

@@BunnyBug13 Well, you might have "met" another one! ❤️ I'm Nora, a beginner witch, and I haven't still wrapped my head around this, but storms and wind have always been two of my sources of energy. At first I thought "it's a coincidence for sure", but when it happens too many times I started to listen to my intuition and what the wind might carry.

I've been stuck on the idea (for the past few weeks) of crafting a sigil or glyph to "gather and store" energy, and using that as a sort of energy supply/battery. Loved this video 🎋🙋🏻
I like this idea alot. I think i would specify it to “increase My ability” of gathering energy. So that energy is being drawn from exactly what i want, not random or contrary energies. Also so that i dont accidently get energy sucked from myself or other people depending how & where the sigil is used. I think a clear distinction that the one “drawing enegy” is Me not the sigil, would be the main part of its creation for me.

Thank you for this, it's something I've been struggling with since the beginning but it never occurred to me that it could be such a basic thing I was missing. When doing very 'large' spells I've even made myself sick for a few days with fever, and I knew that I should be 'using the earth's energy' but I just had no idea how. Thank you!!

Hearth, I appreciate your focus on the TRUE basics of witchcraft so much! If you were to write a book on powering spells, basic energy work, etc. I'd be the first to buy it, just saying!
I definitely needed this. I’m new but in between beginner and intermediate. I’m working with the water element this month and have been looking for content for ways I can work with it and this was great! I would really love to hear more advanced info from you!
An easy way I found a way to make a battery is using orgone pyramids. Depending on the size they can hold alot of energy and that unnatural copper or other metals in them are great for that aswell as the natural stones are often put in them.
You can use em with either personal or non using a non personal cyclical energy methods like the moon, also crystal grids are great for setting up physical batteries.
I personally just do grounding or or herbal correspondences cause i mainly do lower magick. For bigger things and more ceremonial things i typically ask for diety assistance or petitions.
Every now and then I try and use the moon but I almost never catch the phase I want so I use the days of the week :)
If my work can’t be carried on my person, I leave it to charge with a glass of water (moon water when I can) and a candle. Of course the candle is lit intermittently, but the water stays with the work until the work is done or I deactivate it.
Excellent video! All of these techniques are fantastic. Our fire pit is one of our most powerful sources. And you’ve inspired me to develop a bond with a tree! I am a crazy tree person too, and don’t know why I haven’t done this yet!

I use my jade beads (two 108 prayer beads)and my jade bangle as my wand and batteries on my left arm. Never take them off and always charging them. Love this channel.

I love this video! There are definitely a few things I want to try now. Bc like there have been times when I do a spell I just kinda pass out afterwards and I feel so drained. I want to try using more elements into my spells.

I use my personal energy, the Earth some of the time, I use the energy of the moon phases a lot in my spells for energy, and the sun as well and sometimes I work with Crystals and herbs along with the other energies!!!!!!!!

This video was recommended to me multiple times and I feel as though the universe is trying to tell me something, maybe witchcraft is my true calling. I’ve always believed in manifestation and spirituality.
I work with High Magick/Ceremonial, so I use the planetary energies, and she's very correct when she say's planetary energies are a very powerful. I practice Ceremony every night from 3:00 AM- 4:30/5:00, and I am buzzing for the rest of the day. I also use the divine light of the Archangels, which is also extremely powerful.
So much helpful information, even as a beginner I would love to learn more about advanced things too.

For those working with planetary, lunar and solar energy, I would like to suggest reading "The Rulership Book" by Rex E Bills.
When I work with ingredients I see them as the physical manifestation of my intention as well as a symbol of it. A rose petal is love and represents love if that makes sense.
i think you have to be my favourite Witch ever, because you are teaching the most important things that i cannot find anywhere else or in books! I LOVED this video so much! I especially love the idea of magical batteries! I made one the other day kind of accidentally. I needed a place to put all my anxiety and frustration at the state of the world, so I picked up my favourite quartz and pushed it all into the crystal. I did so with the intention to give that energy order through the crystalline structure of the quartz, so that it could be cleansed, transmuted, and used for constructive purposes later :)

LOVED this video!! I am slightly past the beginner phase, so am starting to learn and research the intermediate and advanced parts of witchcraft, and this was super helpful. I come from a charismatic Christian tradition, so working with energy (holy spirit for that tradition) comes easily, however, naming it and seeing it in a different way can be difficult and learning all the properties is daunting. This video (and your others) make it easy and less overwhelming because I don't feel like I have to have all the tools or knowledge to be able to practice! THANK YOU!

Aphrodite is my deity I have her symbol and statue in my room I give her playboy and I talk to her all the time.
My flatmate who works with angels said that Aphrodite adores me. She has given telepathic empathy and wards off negative sources. So I use her for my spells mostly. I've worked with Hecate too she's lovely and Zephyr he's nice. I have a crescent moon charm in my room which recharges in the moonlight for protection.

Well personally I practice the eastern oriental type of magic and working with the elements is a great thing. The ones I worked with is the wu xing or the five phases; wood, fire, earth, metal and water, as well as having 2 different principles the generating and overcoming. The idea is that calling the elements that resonates with its principle helps power the working.
Well only few are working with this type of magic but drawing local magic and local energy really helps.

I love working with the elements! Like I’ve worked with them now for a really long time. That’s actually how I started. I slowly started working in herbs, crystals, and eventually deities. Like for the past few years when I do my big protection ritual barrier for my home I now include Hecate. I feel her presence when I cast the barrier. She helps strengthen it and makes it more solid.
