Indian vegetairan cusine is the ultimate humane, evolved, expansive, extensive and the most delicious cuisine on the planet. No other cuisine can brag like this. Long live Bharat!!
I still remember my dad taking me to mathsya during my school days. We used to buy the cheese toast always and i still would say that this restaurant is my go to for idly sambar, they seemed to have some dull business recently but its good to see them back at fully occupied
Egmore Matsya (formerly udipi Krishna bavan )was the first restaurant to serve the Manglore Bonda in Madras . The person who gave the intro . forgot to mention that but we belong to Egmore remember it
Mathsya bring us back memories where my and my wife family met before our engagement.. Great Video,Best Rasam Vada I tasted is in Mathsya and Madras Cafe in Matunga
Matsya Egmore is the original, their special items like Raja Rajan dosai, uppu Kara puli dosai are not available in their branches nor anywhere else in india. Neer dosai, guliappa, and rasa vada are also out of the world, especially the last. An old item, the bajari dosai is no longer on the menu though. For just Rs 200 to 250, one can have a safe, tasty, unique meal.
Grt video but what caught my attention at start of video was their signboard stating branches n it mentioned Delhi too !!!! I never heard it before n on searching the Google it seems closed down .......anyways would try to be aware of its re opening ......Thanks Kripal sir for bringing Matsya restaurant back on our minds sitting in Pb n remembering our Chennai days 🙏
Kripal great detailing of the Mathsya Restaurant and name is pretty unique and thanks for the explanation. Amazing to see family 4th Gen in business taking forward the legacy dishes keeping its authenticity. Business owners/brothers were eager to welcome you and also explaining the dishes. You wanted light dinner looks you had heavy dinner😋😋😊👍🙏
It's quite disappointing to see Kripal traveling all the way to Chennai only to sample Mangalorean and Keralite cuisines. Considering he's already experienced Kappa Chakka(in Bangalore), he could have easily explored the authentic flavors of Chennai by indulging in Tamil cuisine. Places like Akshayam, Murugan Idli, and even lesser-known yet popular eateries would have offered him a true taste of Tamil Nadu. While it's noted he visited Sangeetha, delving deeper into Chennai's culinary scene with traditional Tamil fare would have been a richer experience. This feedback comes from a fan who appreciates his work. Cheers!
A city's foodscape is made of influences that are both homegrown and those culinary influences, that though with origins not from the land, have endeared themselves to local palates. At Food Lovers TV, we cover both, keeping an eye on popular food culture and unique experiences as well. The episodes in our current Chennai series fit across this content philosophy that we espouse. Having said that, this isn't our first visit, nor will it be our last visit to the city. Am sure we will cover many more fabled eateries in times to come, and perhaps those who've missed our earlier Chennai episodes, should take a look at our complete Chennai playlist. Good afternoon dear Kripal - Mathsya is one of our family’s restaurants in Chennai 👍 Yes it’s a century old establishment ( having different names when they started ) Let’s dive into the vlog . Good background on the name of the restaurant 👍Kitchen tour and it’s super hygienic 👌👌 Sambhar tasting and Kripal has cracked it 100 % ( in terms of ingredients, taste and texture) . Wow they have expanded their range of dishes to cater to their eclectic customers . Need to visit the restaurant as it’s been quite a while since I have dined there . Time for their most popular Rasam Vada . It’s sheer class and succulent 💯💯💯 This is a must have dish in Mathsya 👍 My dad simply loves their Rasam Vada 😋 Now time for the Kuzhipaniyaram with the chutney. Looks like you just about liked it (candid review ) . Love the way you drank the Rasam from the bowl 💯💯💯 The chilli cheese toast looks super yummy 😋Fab preparation of the Ghee roast 👌 One of your subs came and provided his recommendation to try the Idli with molagapodi 😀👍 The Ghee roast is super crisp. The next dish resembling a idli seems to go well with the Saaru / Kootu & Gojiu seems to have hit the spot . Haven’t tried this dish . The vermicelli chitaranna looks yumm 😋 How come no chutney along with the Semiya Chitranna ? Basundi is a great way to end the meal 👍 No problem in waiting for a delicious meal 😀 No brainer in knowing what dishes you loved the most . I was just wondering why you didn’t have the coffee ☕️ & there you go 😀 Thoroughly enjoyed every frame of the vlog and brought back some nostalgic memories in dining at Mathsya . Chennai series is rocking 👍 Take care , Stay blessed . Loads of love & respect 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯
Hi Rajesh, your Dad certainly has great taste, that rasavada is outstanding. And quite deserving of its popular rating. The kotte kadubu with the kootu and menaskai combination was a delight too. As for your query on the accompaniment to the shavige chitranna, I am sure there must be condiments served alongside ordinarily, but this was only a small tasting portion. Glad to know this series is bringing back some great memories for you. We have six more episodes coming up from Chennai. Cheers!
@@FoodLoversTV Dear Kripal - I have shared the vlog with my dad and I am sure it would also be a nostalgic experience for him . Wow - 6 more vlogs from Chennai . Should be awesome 👌👌 Thanks for the clarification to my question 👍 Have a fabulous day ahead and God bless 😇
Dear Kripal Ammana Whether it’s coincidence or providence just don’t know I keep missing meeting you - you either visit just a day or hour before I visit or after I visit a veg restaurant- infact I missed you by a whisker at Vidyarthi Bhavan dosa play at Chowdiah memorial hall - 2 years back - I have mentioned that in your post too Wonder when do I get to meet you in live person !!! Saw your awesome video on Delhi visit for creative awards n dasaprakash - good one !!! Keep it coming Truly like to catch up with you over a kapi !!!
It's a good one in Chennai, one of the few vegetarian items, only downside is, the place gets quote crowded with a good wait time plus, it's quite noisy for a calm evening dinner
Next time.if possible please do a collab with MSF (madras street food, an awesome local channel that is spreading awareness on stories behind unquie tamil cusines) to explore more unique native cusines
Gone those days of Mathsya. When we were having food at Egmore branch, literally I saw one of the waiters, cleaning the used spoons with tissue paper and keeping the same spoon in our table. I caught him and took the issue to his higher authority. Almost 3-4 people literally asked me sorry and opted for a free bill. I clearly paid the bill and told that never come to this place. They told it was a mistake. Big joke. Happened to me about a year back.
I respect you sir as always I don't know but you are the only person who is enjoying with his own style what would you like and conveying food review to the people is good
But their other branch in Adyar is rocking. Tnagar and Egmore is loosing it's charm. Management has to look into it. Even Sangeeta group is doing extremely well,
Very disappointing choice of places in Chennai. I was so looking forward to Chennai but the series so far has been let down - very poor restaurant dejection
What's that foolish obsession about language? Isn't conveying the topic - excellent, extraordinary food of different types and places , the main essence of this ch🤷♂️ this prog is abt food not language 🙏 don't mix it 😡
This is a prog on grt food , different types at different places, this prog is not abt language, pls don't mix both ! Jst enjoy the beautiful authentic culinary style of food of different region ... ths is totally bizarre which you are asking 🤷♂️🙏

It's not good to extend hand for a handshake to someone who sat at a table to have his food. It's common sense ! as we eat with hand, not fork n spoon
