Wen you go to new state City you should try their localfoods thatonly will give authentic cuisine I mean local culture ,authentic taste

There used to be an open air restaurant in Taj Connemara. Rain Tree. I used to take my family very often in the 90s. A lavish spread of vegetarian buffet. Amazing food with about 25+ desserts. Moderately priced at Rs 400 per head.
Im a Chennaite but never knew Connemera hotel has so much history behind it. Wonderfully shot vlog.. beautifully presented . The hotel looks like an oasis in the middle of a desert !

I was born in Chennai but residing in Bangalore.
Connemara hotel was actually the residence of the proprietor of Binny mills. It became a hotel later. The name of the road where the hotel now is located is also named after Binny.

Though not much of fan moments from your breakfast at "The Verandah" except for the liking of Sambar which TN never fails to impress, the property walkthrough Taj Connemara instigates me to visit one of the oasis of my home town Chennai. A vlog well describing the history of colonial influenced hotel not taking away rich interiors with cultural artifacts, wooden carvings from Mahabalipuram acending to the first floor, maze like structure etc. Definitely a must visit in my checklist during one of the upcoming visits.. Thanks for entertaining us from my home town Chennai. Do make a visit to Annalakshmi Restaurant in Spurtank Road and share your reviews!!

Chennai is popular for breakfast reminds me of my schooling days you get the best Sambar and chutney and ofcource filter coffee at its best thanks Kripalji for reminding me of my Chennai days as usual excellent presentation
One thing that I like the most ... are the conversations on food between u & sree ji.. mam is so graceful & unpretentious.. aap logo ke interactions are so very spontaneous !!

Pure nostalgia! Spent three wonderful years during the 70's working and getting trained by my uncle who had a travel agency in the hotel. The office was right near the entrance on the left side. We could actually feel the pulse of the hotel. Watching your video I feel the soul of the hotel is gone since the Taj group took over from the Spencer group. It looks more modern, even the older part but thank goodness that we still have this hotel with a pretty long history.
Kripal Sir getting chided by madam is similar to me getting scolded by my mom on wanting Dosa everyday for breakfast 😅

You should visit Mylapore when you are in Chennai. Best places to have breakfast are Rayar mess and Karpagambal mess. Also visit Kalathi rose milk shop.
Please come out of the Rayar mess hangover . Four dishes endless wait 15 covers . Please don’t repeat the same old world charm funda
Rayar mess sambar is the worst I ever had in my life , but I like their other tiffin items

An original Spencer hotel. Old world charm. First went there in the sixties. Probably the only high class hotel in Chennai then. Thanks for bringing nostalgia back.

Thank you, Mr Kripal, for covering this iconic place in Chennai. Hotel Connemara is a landmark of Chennai and a heritage like site, similar to the Chepauk cricket grounds or the Connemara Library. During our student days (1966-68) we used to appreciate and admire this place mostly from outside and venturing inside only very rarely, mostly soon after getting a money Order from home.
The most pleasant thing in life that anybody would accept is "have a good happy healthy meal", your videos echo's that, you make us feel we are travelling alongside with view, wish you & Mam be blessed with lots such happy journeys & keep us entertained, to sum up your videos makes one feel happy days are always ahead, thank you Sir for everything 🙏🏻🙏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hello Kripal, I have lived at Taj Connemara and many other such 5 star hotels. Their Idly, vada or any South Indian dishes including at Leela Kempinski Mumba, Taj Man Sing are crappy. In Chennai, you should try Murugan Idly stall or Saravana Bhavan and Ratana Cafe. These are the true Chennai hotels. Normally all such Hotels give free breakfast to Gold members, but I never eat in these hotels whenever I have stayed before the pandemic.
