Blue Mountains Trout Season Opener 2023

The trout season for 2023 has opened and I took the opportunity to fly fish for trout in the Coxs River. This Blue Mountains stream is a favourite of mine and once again it didn't disappoint. The fish weren't taking surface flies - nymphs were the go and I managed to land a nice brown trout and a few rainbows. As a new fly tier, catching this gorgeous fish on my own creations was a thrill for me. I can't wait to get out there again soon...

Thanks Peachy. Yeah we had a bit of rain a couple days before my trip. Hopefully we get some more rain through the summer because the water levels were already looking low.
