Catching whiting on lures
Lure fishing for whiting is a productive way to catch big fish over the summer months. The lure fishing technique I use for whiting involves surface lures retrieved quickly. My favourite whiting lures are pencil poppers around 70mm with colours schemes that resemble prawns.

Catching mullet on fly
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.10 месяцев назад
Fly fishing for mullet is a great idea if you are new to the sport and want to get a few fish under your belt. The flyfishing technique for mullet I use in this video is simple - a foam bread fly that floats and acts as an indicator, with a dropper of about 20 cm to an egg yarn bread fly that sinks. I used a four pound tippet on this outing. Most of the mullet will hit the submerged bread fly s...
Coxs River Fly Fishing Expedition
Просмотров 43811 месяцев назад
We hiked into a remote section of the Coxs River to flyfish for trout. The landscape and river were beautiful in the section we fished, with a number of rainbow trout falling for nymphs in the riffles. In the larger pools the carp were in plague proportions - they put up a good fight on a 4 weight but it was a shame to see so many in the river. #coxs river #fishingaustralia #flyfishing #flyfish...
Blue Mountains Trout Season Opener 2023
Просмотров 39011 месяцев назад
The trout season for 2023 has opened and I took the opportunity to fly fish for trout in the Coxs River. This Blue Mountains stream is a favourite of mine and once again it didn't disappoint. The fish weren't taking surface flies - nymphs were the go and I managed to land a nice brown trout and a few rainbows. As a new fly tier, catching this gorgeous fish on my own creations was a thrill for m...
Chasing big rainbow trout in Australia
Просмотров 143Год назад
A great weekend with a few fishing buddies chasing rainbow trout in a farm dam. Most of the trout were in the two to three pound range and fell for nymphs and egg flies. A few bigger rainbows gave some powerful runs and bust us off before we could land them. Oh well...next time! #troutfishing #flyfishing #flyfishingaustralia #catchingtrout #fishingaustralia

Where bouts is this
Just found your channel, new subscriber for sure, love ya content. Curious about the length of rod you fellas where using, looking to pick up a luderick rod and debating getting the 10' or a 12'
Canoe fishing is great fun. I oughta bring along a fly rod sometime, but topwater with a casting rod is so much fun! Beautiful scenery btw.
What species? It’s so pretty
what pound line
Thats a fat boy!i pulled 5 outta the harbour this morning.was out there 3 hrs before the rain came down
what lure is that?
An Ecogear PX surface lure
Bro . Mind to ask how many bls of your leader and mainline ? Thanks
For drummer I use 30 pound main line and 20 pound leader
@@fishingfables3971 Thanks
Great video mate what's your setup?
Thanks mate. I use 6lb braid and 6lb fluro leader, 2500 size reel and a 1-3kg lightweight spinning rod
Top work bud how deep is the water where you are fishing ?
We took a few whiting in the shallows over the flats but most of the big ones were in 1-2 metres of water. They’d come up and smash our lures.

Nice one mate, some decent whiting there! Have you tried up there on surface flies like disco shrimps for them? Something I've been meaning to try. Good to see Gav getting in on the action too! :)
Thanks Peachy. I haven’t had a serious shot with surface flies up there yet but this would be the time of year to do it! Was good to introduce Gav to some decent whiting up there we had a great session together.
한국?
I love catching the humble mullet on fly - here's the full video from an awesome session ruclips.net/video/XdxVD7zz1Dw/видео.html
Catching mullet on fly is a lot of fun and some of the bigger fish go hard! Particularly for anglers new to fly fishing, this is a great way to catch a few fish and gain some confidence.
Nice one👍
Thanks mate - small fish but a lot of fun
Superb - thanks for sharing - must have been so much fun to fish that dam with close mates 🕺🕺🕺
Thanks for watching. As it happens we’d seen a video of you fishing the same dam a few weeks before our trip 👍
@@fishingfables3971 Oh, that is superb! Brought back some great memories for me. Loved your video of your recent trip to the Cox’s river.
@@robertlouis24 thank you 👍 I’m sure we’ll meet on a river somewhere soon as we fish the same areas you do.
Looks like a good time. You should target carp some time and get em out of the river.. they will eat trout eggs and they stir up silt and increase turbidity of the water , also bad for trout eggs.
Agree with you about the carp which are a real problem in Australia. None of the carp we caught on this trip were returned to the river.
@@fishingfables3971 nice. I like to bury them.. either at the river or sometimes I take them home and bury them in my garden as they make excellent fertilizer
Holiday s picnic ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
On the holidays I went fishing on a river in victoria aus, me and my uncle caught a massive rainbow trout. We only took one photo before letting her go because it was starting to lay eggs. Overall I think we should encourage more people to fish as im seeing a increase on catches and a decrease on people. Maybe its just in australia as its always hot but idk. Cool video now you got lucky!
Thanks for watching mate and I’m happy you caught that big trout in Victoria 👍

All of the trout we caught on this section of the Coxs were rainbows . Just wondering if anyone has had success with browns?
Great little video ! Looks like a great spot . I am always looking for new places to explore in our kayaks . Is it somewhere on the Murray by any chance ? . Not really that into fishing more into camping and exploring . you might like to check out some of my kayaking videos for some ideas of where you can go canoe fishing . Would love to see more of your canoe vids if you make some ( I subscribed )
Thanks for watching mate - that video was of the Shoalhaven River down south. I plan to make a few more trips over summer. I’ll check out your channel too. Happy paddling.
@@fishingfables3971 Thanks . I thought it must have been the Murray because this map says Wadi Wadi country is around Swan Hill Victoria boarder. aiatsis.gov.au/explore/map-indigenous-australia but yeah other stuff i read said it was in the Sholehaven . Hpoe to get to tallowa Dam this summer for a good paddle . is that where you were ?
Thanks Peachy. Yeah we had a bit of rain a couple days before my trip. Hopefully we get some more rain through the summer because the water levels were already looking low.
Nice one mate, bit of colour in the water hey...
Wow.. thats would be a really good fight on a fly gear
Sure was! Pulled some drag which was cool
Catching bream on the fly is during an evening session
Fly fishing for mullet is so much fun - small bread flies do the job!
You can tell its a good fosh just listening to it
Unfortunately it snapped me off before I could see it
Damn that sucks

What float do u use?
For drummer I use cheap bobby corks and for luderick I make my own long stem floats
Nice catches.i know where it is but how do you get down? Is it easy access
You can climb down onto the ledges. Quite steep but doable. Only safe to fish in a slight swell though - dangerous otherwise
@@fishingfables3971 i have noticed its a low ledge.might throw some rope in for safety and go for a climb.ive had no luck lately on the drummer.got busted up left right and centre 2 weeks ago.had to revert to luderick hooks and cabbage.they didnt want prawns or cunjie.was a weird session.
My pb is 12 pounder

Wow. This is a sunny, beautiful, but windy and technically demanding situation. Congratulations on many hookups and landings. like 03:27
Thank you for watching 🙂 The wind made casting difficult but also helped because it was harder for the trout to see you.
TCD top fishery boys nice fish caught.
Thanks Frank the fishing is good at the moment - cold though!
North or south?
North mate
That was a good day guys, nice fish around the 2:00 minute mark... :)
Thanks Peachy it was a great day with lots of surface takes 👍

Thank you for watching and for the encouraging feedback, I really appreciate it 👍
can you teach me mate? I can go to norther beaches
Hi Adi - I recommend a fishing guide called Alex Bellissimo who teaches people rock fishing on the northern beaches. He is very knowledgeable. Here’s his RUclips channel - youtube.com/@AlexBellissimo
nice couple around
Winter is a good time for drummer - snapper too but I haven’t caught one off the rocks yet
