I doubt it. She will have to go out harder and test her limits. International world competitions often involve world record holders. World record holders do not go out at a comfortable pace for the field for 80% of the race. A third pace finisher in international world competitions usually runs with the leader for most of the race. Hull starts too slow and lacks the finishing kick of African and European runners.
christansdad Not necessarily have you seen her recent professional races? She keeps up with the German girl who’s last name starts with a K but I can’t spell it sadly. Also trains with Saffan Hassan she can definitely get better and will adjust to her level of competition
You can tell by the running style of the pacemaker that she was NOT a middle distance runner. She had the high-knee gait of a 200/400 runner. She would have seized up and not been able to complete the last 300m as her body/muscles became oxygen deprived. Note: It's a very inefficient gait for a middle/long distance runner. Oh, as a pace-maker she was doing a good job and "on target" and doing what she was asked to do but the others chose to not go with her. That's why the overall time was slow by at least 10 seconds.
@@johnwilson5743 It does seem like even the best runners pace themselves in some races as if they are doing a fast tempo training run, rather than running their best. But maybe it's not possible or good practice to always run a pr or try to run your fastest time. ?

Runners like to occassionally race the old imperial distances that have some meaning. EG It's still interesting and has kudos to run a sub 4 minute mile.
