Confused about how to balance your blood sugar? Should you cut out carbs and glucose to ward off diabetes? If you’re a non-diabetic who wants to understand more about the dos and don’ts of how to balance your blood sugar, this video is for you.
When it comes to blood sugar, it’s helpful to think of your body like a mobile phone. Your phone can do many things, but it relies on you topping up the battery to do so. Just as your phone needs electricity, your body needs glucose (sugar) to operate, and you won’t make it through a full day without it.
Your body stores sugar in the form of glycogen in your liver (about 100g), your muscles (about 400g), and there is also around 5g in your blood. Once these are all full, excess glucose becomes toxic and your body will do it’s best to dump it into your body fat. This can slowly but steadily result in weight gain and unhealthy blood sugar levels, which in turn increase your risk of developing type II diabetes.
In this video I’ll discuss why balancing blood sugar is so challenging and reveal some very simple strategies you can adopt right away that will make a big difference in just a week. I’ll also explore the different ways you can monitor your blood glucose - both at-home and the blood tests to ask your doctor for. Let’s get started!

thank you for the vid, I'm not a diabetic, I was a pre- I was able to bring my glucose back to normal, but you mentioned something that has been happening to me- I have a normal A1c during the day but in the morning when I first wake up it is high 104-109 and I have tried cutting out anything and everything quite a few hours before bed and still wake up with high glucose- but what you mentioned about stress makes a lot of sense! thank you for the very informative vid!

Glad the info resonated. Stress can impact morning glucose. Try relaxation techniques. If the issue persists, consult a healthcare professional.

Excellent podcast! (As always!) What’s that beta (no pinch) type gadget (black) that you use with your children? Where do you get it from?

All very well known glucose facts, but very well packaged in a brief, no nonsense video. Couple of notes:
Vinegar is only effective for complex carbs. It works by preventing the breakdown to simple sugars, therefore... it has no effect of simple sugars.
Constant Glucose Monitors: If you're going to use one, which I recommend any one to use that can make it happen, play with things like food order, food timing, medication to food timing, note how sleep and stress affect your numbers. It's funny to see things like how your body can handle carbs better in the morning
The non-invasive glucose monitor... Apple has a partnership with one of the chip manufactures that will do this (As well as other things like blood pressure and hydration). It's working, but still too big to be practical. The goal is to get it to work in the Apple watch... so maybe... hopefully... 3-5 years off.
Finally, these are all great tips for diabetics too.

Thank you so much. Question- can drinking apple cider vinegar help in the same way the regular vinegar on a salad helps?
I usually drink to capfuls… Is this enough?

Less than 5.7 is normal range less than 5.2 if you’d like to really aim for optimal

Where can we buy a non-invasive glucose monitor? In other words, where did you get yours? Would one of those breath keto things work?

The one I have is from Glucube it’s wildly inaccurate about 1/2 the time but if you’re familiar with your levels it’s useful and easy to retest

First, start your meal with fiber, then protein, then your carbs. This will level off your post meal spike
Protein. Make sure you get 20-30 grams per meal

Limiting processed food, eliminating sugars, zero or limited white carbs.
Also, strict intermittent fasting even 12 hours daily improves insulin health in non-diabetics
Also healing the Gut, microbiome has been scientifically proven to worsen blood glucose in people with SIBO or gut microbione imbalance.
Also, not eating late at night, getting propper sleep.
I periodically test a batch of lancets for e.g. a month to make ure my glucose levels are within OPTIMAL non diabetic glucose blood levels e.g. never more than 30 max between lowest and highest reading.
Cheaper than getting an expensive device the reads levels constantly.
As comments above also mention, fiber first, ACV before meals.

Great info will put it to use, I don't know why I've never thought of monitoring my blood glucose.
So restaurants feeding people a bread basket b4 they order is problematic.
