Imagine bringing these back to the 70's/80's
There actually where mini arcades in the 80's, but with more limited graphics, coleco made them I think
The mini arcades in the '80s were much bigger than these and used a segmented display rather than an LCD.
@@scr0ngle108 I actually have a galaxian mini arcade by midway and coleco
The Coleco mini arcades looked cool but didn't play very well. The technology was limited to LED screens and tinny sound effects.
Noah Corner ugh. Having grown up in the 89’s, don’t even get me started on Tigers Electronics. Those things were the epitome of “over promise, under deliver.”
At least they are FAR better than TIGER games :D
You definately got THAT shit right.
Tiger games wrist watch XD
@@camrocian7230 THEEEEE WRISTTTTT GAMEEEEEEEE
you are properly cultured if you got that reference
@@Cygerion Everybody has the reference -avgn-
Give me a drink bartender
It would be cool to have a bunch of these decorating a game room, just running through their attract screens.
Sadly nope. After 20-30 seconds they cut off to save battery 👿👿👿👿👿.
@@flexsealman7096 ☹️☹️☹️
I own four of these cabinets (did not know about Galaga, Dig Dug or Frogger until just now), and I will say that it is simply more of a novelty to have. A cool little collectible for those interested in retro arcade games. They definitely feel like they were different builds from the original, but they can still be fun to mess around with on occasion.
I would definitely like to grab the other three cabinets I didn't find. I found the four I own at Toys R Us last year, but they've been appearing at Walmart as of late. I might check back again to see if I can round off the series.
Now I can get my hamster to be a gamer! 😂
Doodle Dangernoodle yes

At Christmas, these can double as ornament gifts. They are awesome.
Thanks for the review. These are amazing! :)
Pretty cool stuff! And for some people the reduced resolution only adds to their charm
Can you do reviews of mobile gamepads? Like Ipega, Moga, and Gamesir. You would be surprised how unique they can be.
I agree! I have an Ipega 9062 and it's incredible!
Yahav135 I have the 9037 which is an older model with the same design as 9062. And the shoulders, triggers, and dpad on the thing are horrible to use.
The 9062 is an updated version and even has analog triggers
Sure! The more we get in the more we can review. :)
please do a review on android ones. I've seen a lot of good ones for iphones but a lack for android. And the ones that are available I'm not sure which ones are good
My wife got me one (Ms Pacman) back in December, I like it! Good coverage Shane
Try buying all of them and then growing them like in Ant Man.
Or even better make a whole tiny arcade (with tables, decorations and the like) and then shrink and play in the arcade
I love collecting these. I have Pacman, Ms.Pacman, Galaga, Galaxian, Tetris and Ninja Turtles. I also have the bigger tablt top arcade games of Pacman, MsPacman, Bad Dudes, Galaxian, Galaga, Burger Time, Dig Dug and Karate Champ as well as table top games made by another developer which includes Tetris, Contra, Fixit Felix and Mortal Kombat. I only ever opened the MsPacman one being that it was my first but I think I'll keep the rest of them boxed. Hopefully they will be worth money some time in the future. But mainly for collecting purposes. I have plenty of other platforms that play these same games anyway.
I have the Ms. Pacman one and planning to get Dig Dug. Can you imagine taking these tiny arcades back to the 80's. I bet the secret service will come after you.
You should look at the comment of Cube
It will be useful
I don’t think they are meant to be played anyway. The fact they are playable is awesome enough. I have them all and they are sitting on my shelf as decorative pieces. Turning them all on and leave them playing their demo is so awesome.
I have bought them all! Spent hundreds on them, even multiples to collect, play, display and for the kids! 😁
Dig Dug is one of my favorite games of all time and is my favorite arcade game. Glad it worked best. I'll go buy one today, after work. :)
Thanks for the detailed review. I may snag a couple at Wal-Mart. They'd look cool on my shelf and fun to play sometimes
Just think playing Street Fighter on one of those Tiny Arcades
My dad likes this game so much and is so intense on gameplay that he might break it lmao
That’d be really hard to make, or even play the game
I started collecting these recently because I love how the cabinet looks and the marquee lights up. Pole Position is pretty neat because it has a tiny steering wheel instead of a joystick and it says, "Prepare to qualify." when you start a race. I love it. Pac-Man is great. Tetris is great, has the original music. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Not so much. Cabinet looks awesome, but the gameplay is horrendous. I still like it, but it's like a 2 out of 5 for me.
I got the Pac Man one a while back, I love the thing! It looks neat on my gane collection and it's fun to play these from time to time
The Frogger music being different is a license issue. As it's also different on the Bridge Direct mini Frogger arcades as well. As far as the last ghost in Pac-Man not coming out, That is normal behavior as when you have eaten half(or more) of the screen of pellets and you die, then continue the board, if there isn't enough pellets left to eat, the 4th will stay in its box. Try it out on mame. These are based off of the original arcade rom. (minus the frame rate issue of course). Thanks for the review!
regarding frogger, they probably changed the music because of licencing issues. in the original arcade version and some of it's contemporary ports, the game start music was a cover of the japanese childrens song "inu no amawari san" which was written in the 1960s.
I remember having one of those things... Except it wasn't the technological marvel those were. it was an LCD replica of Missile Command. It was more calculator-like in terms of graphics and controls in the fact that you can only move to specific spots, but it was still all in good fun nonetheless.
Awesome video! You should check out the mini-arcade systems by Basic Fun. They're not as small as these ones, they're about 6 inches each. I have 6 of them (Space Invaders, LCD Frogger, LCD Centipede, Asteroids, Q*bert and Colour Pac-Man) and they're pretty great, although some are better than others. They are, at the very least, pretty interesting.
I thought the space Invaders attention to detail was pretty impressive...
The fact that they try to mimic the overlays is pretty cool.
I'm definitely going to need to order the whole set
Those tiny arcades are really Interesting.
I bought my dad the Space Invaders one for Father's Day and he really enjoyed it
I love my Ms. Pacman tiny arcade aside from one thing...no mute button. Since this is sort of a keychain I’d love to play this waiting in line without bugging everyone
I love these! I have space invaders and I'm trying to get dig dug and galaxian. I hope to get them all soon and I heard that rally x might soon
Just ordered the Ms.Pac-Man one for my wife, the Dig Dug one was temporarily out of stock. But upon doing so, I came across a competitor brand called My Arcade that puts out a 6", palm-sized variation of a tiny arcade machine, except they offer Burgertime, Bad Dudes & Karate Champ as other titles besides the classic Namco games. I was thinking I'd love to see you do a side-by-side comparison video review on BOTH brands to see which is the TRUE arcade experience in the palm of your hands. What do you think?
I got a Bad Dudes My Arcade for $15 instead of $30 when Toys R Us was going out of business, all sales final. It was dead on arrival, not sure if due to poor build quality or being old, mishandled stock but for me it's nothing but a nice piece to look at.
None of the new Tiny-Arcades (Galaga, Frogger, and Dig Dug) are released yet. Wal-mart has them listed on the website, but Super Impulse says they will come out on the 30th of september.
My Arcade Bad Dudes is the NES version sadly. Luckily I checked it out online first!
Most of the My Arcade cabinets use the NES version tho.
@MystiqEevee2001 They've been available for a month or two but Wal-Mart does not carry them in-stores.
those look neat! definitely might want space invaders or ms. pac-man!
i saw pacman and galaga at walmart and it drove me nuts...its impressive!!
Can confirm these little arcades are built to last. Well, for what it's made out of being rather cheap plastic. Bought the Mrs.Pac-Man version for my Mom for Xmas years ago. It still sits in their garage on the work table. Covered in dust and probably random oil speckles ect? For sure. Does it still fire up and run just fine? Definitely. Obviously don't drop them or abuse the machine. These are just a cute collectable with a bonus being able to play the game considering the form factor.
I have Space Invaders, Ms Pac-man, Pac-man and Galaxian and would love to own the whole collection of this. There's even new ones like BurgerTime, Pole Position and Rally-X
I just bought the space invades one I love it
There just novelties. I don't think they are made to play like an originals haha! Would like cool on the shelf.
That's what I call great game novelty
Regarding Frogger - no re-releases use the original music, because the ones in the original arcade release and early home release were taken from other sources and used without permission. One is a Japanese children's song, and two others are from anime. All are still under copyright.
They're mainly for novelty purposes .
Looks cool on a shelf. I have 3 of em.
But if I wanna play, I'll fire up my mame
I actually like these Tiny Arcades even though they do have a few minor issues. I reviewed some of these on my channel.
Man, I love these things. My Cousins have a tiny arcade system of Pac-Man.
I love all of theme
This has been a closer look
i found those things in literally every Wallmart i've been in.
*Wallmart*
*WALLMART*
Wallmaaaaaaart
Walmar
what's the point of this??
You should do a quick review of the Tetris one!
I'm not certain as technical details are hard to find for these, but displays of this size usually rely on an IC2 or SPI interface which is fairly slow. They're usually intended for Smart watches or little embedded displays. That's probably what's limiting the framerate as all of these seem to be about the same. I think it's ok though. They're amazing pieces of technology honestly. A replica arcade machine that plays something close to arcade game, miniaturized to just a couple a inches tall and all for 15 bucks.
I have the "Space Invaders" one. It's awesome. Also, got the Pac-Man one, it is pretty good too, even if it's easier. (Not a bad thing.) Though, oddly the SI one saves the high score, but my PM one doesn't.
You should do the polymega its a really cool way to play cartridge and cd games
I need one of bubble bobble, now
Two players can play at the same time andit requires two players to get the Happy Ending.
We sell these at the Wal-Mart I work for. I was wondering if they were worth the 12.97 we sell them for. By your review I would say yes.
I wish they would make a tiny bubble bobble one.
Oh man they're so adorable looking 😍 Id love to be able to get them where I live. But sadly no. I live out in the middle of nowhere which makes it impossible for me to get them.
I'd still want that Galaga machine :P
They've released a numnber of new games and some in a "tabletop" form factor, it would be interesting to see you review them.
These would be great with action figures
I remember buying something like this from a distribution store in the late 80's or early 90's. It was for Bad Dudes. The catalogue even had the little arcade machine showing a COLOUR SCREEN, but when I got it I found out it was basically like a Tiger handheld game. Annoying.
"Its got bits!"
Hey Series 3 has been just comfirmed for April. The next games are going to be: Tetris, Q*bert, Rally X and finally Pole Position. You can see the machines on Super Impulse’s web site.
Galaga is my dad's favorite in the 80s
Love it :). Unfortunately my local Wallmart only has Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man. Saw the demo moda gameplay and picked Ms. Pac-Man - really fun to play. Only wish I could control the volume, although I understand at such a small form-factor, that hardware most likely would not fit :|
I actually own all of these!!! they are amazing!!!!
Playback issues aside, the music in Frogger is likely different because I remember reading that Sega/Konami never licensed the rights to the use the song in the original arcade version (which was subsequently used in the Atari 2600 version as well). The rights holder eventually claimed copyright, so reproduced versions of Frogger ever since no longer have the song.
This is most noticeable in the version of Frogger that is included in at least one iteration of the Atari Flashback consoles, Instead of providing the original Frogger game ROM that Parker Bros. originally released, It has a somewhat "upgraded" version of Frogger with no music.
Yeah, the Bridge Direct Frogger uses a different theme as well, so that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the info!
2:37 Ahh my favorite company, tatio corp
Technology is almost there it’s not perfect with these guys but it’s almost there
I need the Rerez soda.
Do they have an attract mode? I can't see myself playing one of these for long but I'd love to have it on my desk running through its original Arcade demo.
They should do ice cyclone arcade as a keychain
Better than those older Tiger games.. I had one of Castlevania when I was little and it sucked lmao
Pac-Man was probably running slow due to constant AI updates depending on where Pac-Man was.
You could set these up with some vintage RAH G.I. Joes on the U.S.S. Flagg or the HQ.
I wonder how many bits rerez pop has? Because any self respecting 90s kid knows that the more bits you have, the better it is. DO THE MATH!!!!!
The background music in galaxian sounds like fnf week 6 cutscene music
These are some neat looking mini arcades, but from a practicality stand point I'd stick with the Game Boy versions of the games. I'm not knocking Rerez for liking them, I do think they're neat display items (I have a Pac-Man one and Galaxian one myself because I love both of those games) but I meant if you're want to sit down and play one of those games just for fun then the Game Boy versions are great for it.
And, if you're creative enough, you can probably turn the Gameboy (assuming it's an Advance SP) into its own mini arcade cabinet. I can't imagine it being that hard.
These are awesome desk toys. For a gimmick or novelty they’re fantastic. I don’t think these were made with gameplay in mind.
I have the tetris one its awesome (especially because im good at it)
I got a miss pac man one on Christmas
these are so cute! i m growimh my own little arcade how about them putting out tempest asteroids tetris you ned to use a magnifier screen or glass
Imagine if they did Mortal Kombat with this lol
I really wanna buy all of them! :3
I grew up with the original arcade's. Seeing those little replica I have to say that they don't convince me at all. Portability is not all what matters.
I really like space Invaders
btw...I think Superimpulse..the company who makes these tiny arcade games.. also makes the same game but on the credit card size..look at Pacman both the tiny version and the credit card version..the same goes to Tetris..
Can you go up from every size of mini arcades , all the way up to those new half size 1up arcades??
*Tatio* is my favorite video game company.
These could have been really cool if they doubled the size maybe tripled
"(c) *TATIO* CORP"
Yeah thay make a error on the legal mentions of Space Invaders
2020: TMNT ONE SUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKSSSSS
I need the frogger one
CultOfWeirdness Don’t bother man, they totally screwed up on the music.
I hope this company makes more of these. I am hoping they make:
1. Popeye
2. Arkanoid (with the knob controller)
3. Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr
4. Mario Bros.
5. 1943
Super Impulse actually took lots of time to get the joysticks to be responsive!
1. This is quite impressive. On how they managed to make it work being so small.
2. I would never buy it due to it being that small. That is just asking for strain on the eyes.
It is impressive, but it really should have been larger. At least the size of an average iPad. This way it is still portable, but it wouldn’t look so uncomfortable to play. Which is a shame, I really like playing those games from time to time. Now and then, it is nice to simply play something old.
Hard to come by? I see some of Pac man at my Wal-Mart!
Thrre are some exclusive to Walmart that actually have really high def screens. Just avoid Pac Man and Asteroids. Those 2 use the outdated Game and Watch screen technology.
I found the AI on the mini Galaga to be smarter than the original. For me the bees will kind of sit, and wait for me to move, and they will calculate which direction is the best to attack me from before they loop around me.
I own the the space Invaders one
You can mod them to play the other games on the board.
I just want a Mrs. Pac-Man & Galaga
How does they compare to the other line of mini arcades that's out?
thanks rerez, I think you just helped me dodge a bullet for an upcoming trade.
I found a mini Pacman Arcade Game that was License by Namco and made from a Bootleg Company.
"My Arcade"? Your right! They did start off with bootleg "DreamGear" mini arcades, but as time went on, they collected Licenses from Namco and Data East.
