Awesome redhead and the bluebill (scaup) isn't too bad either. I have enjoyed diver hunting on the MS River over the years. It has been a while but still get to see a bunch of divers at Wm Powers Consevation Area.. tons of fun... Blessings Matt and keep these videos coming..

Yep it's a greater. The greater scaulp has the white that goes just about the length on the back of the wing , the lesser has just a small section and the greater has a lot wider bill and like you said the color on the head.
That's good to know. I can only really tell with the head color.

Seems like everyone and they're brother wants to bag the ol green head mallard I guess it's a bragging thing, but for me shooting those fast flying divers, they're just as exciting and rewarding to me, I remember slow days when I was very thankful to see some divers working the decoys I'll take divers all day long, great video sir!

Nice video and you showed a lot of respect for wildfowl, i would like to know you’re reasons for downsizing to 28 gauge ,hr in Ireland because of limited interest in that gauge cartridges can be hard to find and times more expensive than the traditional 12gauge ! Good luck
Thanks! I always wanted a 28 and it fits my hunting style perfectly. I order bismuth for it so they're not terribly hard to find.

Scaup are a special treasure. We call them bluebills in MD. I love talking with the old timers about hunting on the Potomac river in the 60s. We had bluebills cans and redheads by the thousands. Sad to see how it is these days. Me and my buddies get excited when a handful of ducks show up and manage to scratch out a few. Nice hunt!
I've heard stories about how good it was back then. Shame what happened to it nowadays.
Should have into thickest patch of starlings, my record is nine in one shot.

I'd like that haha. I love it! No issues at all, which I think has helped my shooting.
@@HighPrairieSportsmen Benellis are just different. I'm sure fit and finish of most high end shotguns are that way. Benellis just fit me exceptionally well. Hopefully you can get some more good hunts in before season is over. Numbers are good down here with a little more season left, gotta kill some more pheasants before the end as well.

Thanks! It's legal here but some don't like it. Personally, I only do it in cases like this where there's specific limits on birds and a bunch around or when they would get up out of range.
Are 2 3/4'' 28 gauge just as killy as the 3''? Close enough?
Haven't tried 3" but I've had no issues using the 2 3/4"

@@HighPrairieSportsmen here we can fill our whole limit with em if we want. Of course they are a pretty popular species to hunt out on the bay along with redheads and Cans but those we can only shoot 1 each

Find it hard enough locating decent 12g shells can't imagine 28g can be bought at walmart.
I use Boss but can pick up dove loads at Walmart anytime. Steel is little harder to find
