This is what happens when land development is through the roof. The animals have nowhere left to go, or ironically find places like suburban environments to be enticing because of lack of predators. Kinda like deer living in the suburbs of the US. I’m sad that there’s less and less untouched land left for wildlife, but I am happy to share ❤ We as a society must embrace what humans have done, and to welcome our furry neighbors. This planet is their home too. Glad to see them living in harmony. We also still need to strive to conserve what undeveloped land is left for wildlife, as larger species/apex predators could not live harmoniously or safely with people in an environment like that.
You’re partially correct. The capybaras used to actually live in this area, it was a marshland. After construction of roads etc, they left but it seems they chose to eventually come back.
Food, Capybara ribs.. 😋
Most of the U.S. is undeveloped though and you say this like Americans have any control over Argentina, they are cool animals though
@@WebSoakDefine "undeveloped".
Be sure to include all urban areas and suburban areas and farmland and grazing land and areas exploited for resources, including oil, minerals, and trees. Don't forget to include otherwise fenced areas that prevent many species from moving about. I might think of other disturbances to wildlife, but you get the idea.
There's a reason that wildlife populations are plummeting. "More Than Half of U.S. Birds Are in Decline, Warns New Report."

Apparently, the capybara has become a “symbol of justice” to poorer residents of this area of Argentina. This neighborhood is well known for being…..very rich and gentrified and pushed a lot of former residents out of the area during its construction. The capybara is a protected species tho, so when they moved into this affluent neighborhood, despite the complaints of lots of “Karen” types and pissed off HOA members, there’s nothing they can do about them. The lower class residents loved this bit of revenge at the expense of the richer residents and started spray painting and decorating many of their neighborhoods with pictures of capybaras as a form of showing support and protesting.
Nice.
Yes!
gentrification is just a commie word for we sold out property to people that paid us way more than it was worth and now we want more money because we spent that money on drugs and booze.

Comical rodents aren't they! Capys have always been one of my favorite animals. They're docile, and really lovely to watch them grazing. Some farmers and ranchers keep them for this purpose, they are superb grazers who can strip a field in a matter of hours. They are also compatible with other herbivore animals, like sheep, alpacas and poultry, as long as a water pool or pond big enough for them to get into is provided, they can live in most farm environments. Some people also keep them as pets, not so sure about this one mind you, they need access to a pond or pool big enough for them to swim in, and a lot of space.
The reason they need access to a water pool is they will only go to the bathroom in water.
Capybaras: the Hippos of South America. I love seeing a family of them starting with the largest on down to the tiniest.
I love capybaras. And manatees are my second favourites. Both are just so adorable and precious.

Comical indeed!. You know, there was this news about this famous guy in Argentina "Dario Barassi" during the pandemic, one Capybara got into his house and he was terrified!. He grabbed his daughter and hided in his bedroom while his wife was keeping them from going even more inside. Eventually the 911 firefighters came in and he asked how are they going to shoo the Capybaras away... They just clapped their hands to scare the animals hahaha
