Excavation, Root Barrier and Thermo-Electric eradication of Japanese Knotweed - SCOUTS

This site was heavily infested with Japanese Knotweed. The site has been a Scouts building for more than 80 years, and borders with a railway station that has a massive issue along its embankments and is a constant firrest of knotweed.
The only secure way to eradicate the knotweed was to excavate, remove as much of the Japanese Knotweed rhizomes asing filtration, followed by thermo-electric of 5000 volts, then to install a Japanese Knotweed proof Root Barrier (50-year life span) along the border with the railway to stop knotweed trespass, and then continue to sift and remove rhizomes before more thermo-electric and then the grounds were laid, grass laid, flagged areas laid, and ongoing thermo-electric plan monthly until the Japanese Knotweed growth is no more.
This project was assigned a 10-year guarantee, giving the Scouts peace of mind that the new area will be kept knotweed free for many years.
