Kofuku San is so beautiful, the make up and hairdo looks so natural and gracious n her and she oozes intelligence and sophistication, she is going to be a legend when she will be an older Geiko. I really hope she doesn't quit the profession
Uprated. I am American but in Europe now & in many cultures, time put aside for the arts and refined amusements are things easy to understand but a bit difficult for many Americans to grasp. These things require thoughtfulness and discipline. Bless.
it's not called a kyoto style top knot each hairstyle is worn by its own rank and has different names. for example jr. maiko will wear wareshinobu, sr. maiko will wear ofuku, katsuyama and yakko shiamda, and geiko will wear wigs nown at katsuraya, called taka shimada
Maiko, right before they have their erikae and become Geiko, wear a hairstyle called Sakkou. Jikata Geiko, who play and sing but don't dance, wear a Western style hairstyle called Yohatsu.
Can anyone tell me about the documentary i seen about a geiko called Komako? I find no images of her in the clothing styles of the geiko and maiko we see in gion etc.. i feel that the video was only showing her as a fullfledged geiko who was going to have her own okiya and manages to do so and get the full support from her mother/teacher. I only seen her with alot more subtle kimono and never ever seen any make up and dress for the other geiko and maiko around her at her okiya that she trained at.. was the whole team that was left fully fledged and simply continued their training under their teacher and did not need to dress in any of the traditional clothing of the geiko etc?
Can I know, how old is Geiko Miehina?Because I've seen her as a maiko many times before,in this video she is with Maiko Kofuku, for my information Maiko Kofuku is no longer a maiko, she turned into a geiko...
Miehina turned 29 on April 28th and Kofuku's birthday, according to the Shigemori Okiya/Ochaya blog, is on October 23rd (if I'm not mistaken), and she was born in '91.
"Tora Tora" is what the Kamikaze pilots screamed when they attacked Pearl Harbor so the name doesn't exactly have good connotations for Americans, despite being fun.
What's the fuss about Miehina. Hmmmmm she's extraordinarily talented having spent over a decade perfecting her craft. She's beautiful, strong, smart and gracious. That's just off the top of my head.
Kufuku san became full fledged geiko on 29/11/12.
Is she still practicing as a geiko or has she retired?
Did that guy really wore shorts and trucker hat at a geisha party?
Robert Larsson he looks moronic
Did you really write "wore" instead of "wear"? ^^ (but I agree)

Not geisha it's GEIKO. Please get it right. Kyoto maiko and geiko don't call themselves geisha.
Thank you. I was going to say that too. You would think they would do at least some research before they upload a video.
Geiko Miehina!!!~~ I hope that I can one day watch her perform live!
i admire geiko Miehina she's kind a great singer and shamisen player geiko are regarded as master of the arts the work gei in gei sha
Kofuku as a maiko. Already love her dance! (one of the few of japan's historical arts. Are you SURE?!)
It is interesting to see my bar being used while I wasn't there.
this made me laugh....
Wait, is that Kofuku-san, the former maiko and the current geiko from Shigemori Teahouse with Fukunae-san in the documentary?
It is sure an interesting experience. I wish I had a chance in my life to go to an ozashiki and watch maiko and geiko dancing. You were very lucky. :)
Kofuku San is so beautiful, the make up and hairdo looks so natural and gracious n her and she oozes intelligence and sophistication, she is going to be a legend when she will be an older Geiko. I really hope she doesn't quit the profession
Kofuku-san is so gorgeous elegant and dedicated geiko. She's one of my favorites geiko o Miyagawa-cho.
I really hope you debt quit you profession of commenting on Evert geisha void :)

Wow! I hope to meet a real maiko or geiko one day...you're so lucky!!!
isnt that miehina on the shamizen?
They both look really underdressed in t-shirts..
The shorts are more appropriate for a day at the beach than they are for an ozashiki. They really should have dressed in a more dignified manner.
definitely, the hat too, wtf? ignorance perhaps.....
I mean the girl had a little more decency then the guy did
Enjoyed immensely. Thank you.

Shakir Shafiq Zainuddin Miehina is 29 or 30.

I think Miehina was born in 1988.
wow that's amazing
I love the game tora tora! it's so funny!
"Tora Tora" is what the Kamikaze pilots screamed when they attacked Pearl Harbor so the name doesn't exactly have good connotations for Americans, despite being fun.

I hope one day i can watch Geiko Miehina and Maiko Fukunae :)
Fukunae retired last year.
@@AzurePearl1996 Fukunae retired to get married, didn't she? She had such a great personality.
美恵雛さんと、小ふくさん☺

I wonder how people are dealing with the loss of Japan now due to the Fukushima disaster? The whole planet is glowing in the dark.
Whats the fuss about Miehina😂❤️
