  • Hello everyone In the last video in my workshop called - Restoration of a dead axe into a Small axe Brodaks - with their own hands, restoration - • Реставрация МёртВого Т...
I took up an old and dead rusty axe. This axe for restoration was brought to me from the village, where it lay for many years, like a rusty piece of iron. I cut off a little extra and re-welded it, and now it's a new little hatchet. To restore the old axe, I needed to cut, weld with a welding machine, strengthen the walls of the eyelets, sand, file, remove rust, anneal, harden and release the axe. A lot of work has been done…
In the same part, I decided to make a conversion from a simple axe with my own hands into an axe for the Viking leader, the king. During the restoration of the axe, I decided to carry an ornament in the style of Scandinavian patterns, consisting in intricate interlacing lines, personally, this style of drawing fascinates me with its beauty, so I did this work with great pleasure. Who wouldn't want to immerse themselves in the times of conquest and travel?
And so I sanded the restored axe from outright junk with sandpaper and immersed it in a solution of iron chloride, after that the axe was painted to carry the drawing. As soon as I drew the drawing on the axe for the leader, it's time to remove the excess paint. With an awl, I remove the paint from the places where I was going to remove excess metal. When I'm done with the ornament, I give the Scandinavian drawing volume by electrochemical etching. After this process, I wash my axe with water and soda. I also decided to complicate the pattern on the axe a little and took off a little extra paint and lowered it back into the chlorine iron to smooth out the edges of the drawing. Solvent washed off the remaining paint, washed, cleaned, sanded. Next, it's time to raven the hatchet to give an aesthetic appearance. Following the instructions, I blackened the metal and sanded it. At the last stage, with a felt circle and polishing paste, I brought my work to the final result. I was very pleased with the result of my work, and I hope you have the same opinion. Thank you..)))
I used the following tools and substances: Salt, soda, ferric chloride, acrylic paint in a balloon, a means for blackening metal, tracing paper, pencil, awl, ruler, angle grinder, drill, grinder, polishing grinder, sandpaper.
