I'm a life long southern Democrat from Mississippi. I'm also a moderate, neither a conservative nor a liberal. But I am a big fan of Clint Eastwood. Party politics play too big of a roll in our society. I believe Mr. Eastwood was more anti Obama than pro Republican. He was quite critical of Romney and Bush both prior to this legendary speech at the RNC. He's obviously right leaning, no doubt. But not a crackpot like the extreme right. A man's man. You just can't help but like the guy. I loved the character he played in Gran Torino. If we had a neighborhood full of guys like that, I guarantee we wouldn't have a crime problem in that particular neighborhood.
I am a Democrat but I also support the 1st and 2nd Amendments. It shouldn't be a conservative or liberal thing in my opinion. It should be a common sense thing. True equality means to live and let live, even if you don't agree with some people. Obviously I don't believe just anyone should be allowed to own a gun. But without just cause, its a right I'd never dream of taking away from good people. The same for the 1st Amendment. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from the consequences of what you say. As long as you acknowledge that, you're free to have any opinion or belief. The same for religion and homosexuals. I don't care if gay people can get married. I don't care how you worship. As long as you aren't forcing your ways and beliefs on others, you are absolutely free. This is why I'm neither a conservative nor a liberal. Both are wrong when it comes to true freedom and equality.
