They’re perfection! It’s easy to see why they won a Grammy for this. They released a new album on Friday and they released a video with Prayers for this world. Technically Cher did this song with a children’s choir for a Serbian charity, but she didn’t release it so Dianne Warren, who wrote it gave it to Pentatonix to release it, so I believe it’s technically considered an original.
This was such a moment not only for PTX but in music history, tbh. They recorded it all in Avi and Kevin's house for around $400. Then after some cool basic editing, they not only won a Grammy, but caused the admins or whatever to change an entire category so they could award it to them.
This medley combines 7 Daft Punk originals. The transitions are so seamless that it takes some reactors who are not familiar with the songs quite a while to realize that it isn't a single. Pentatonix does medleys like no one else! Great reaction! 🙂
They also own Christmas. Around November 9 they kick off their tour for this year's Christmas album prayers for the world. They do have that out in a video
as a Pentaholic my basic challenge to new reactors: go do a list of the discography of Pentatonix(PTX), pick a song you really do not like and a song you think the original is the best it could ever be, after you hear each you will be a Pentaholic, because they are that great. Also all of the "Offical Videos" are not processed, layered, nor adjusted, what you hear is what you will hear on the live record on someone's cellphone at a meet and greet. They really are that good.

They were the first group who became popular mainstream. They cleared the way for the rest of the groups. They became famous during the show the sing-off. Some of them were 19 y/o then. This was their first great song. They won several grammys for Daft Punk.
I saw them do it this in concert in California a few weeks ago (29 September 2022) and it was just amazing; very nearly as good as the studio version. When was the last time you wanted to dance to the carol "O Come All Ye Faithful" or "Joy to the World"? Ever hear an a Cappella group do a song without lyrics?...Check out their "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy". Enjoy!

They have a brand new christmas album out called Christmas around the World. And a new music video for their brand new song Prayers For This World. Avi has an amazing solo career now. Kevin has a lot of solo music, as does Mitch. Kirstie was on Broadway and she has a few collabs with just her and another artist. Scott just released his first solo MARS which is mind blowing. If you really want to see them completely change a song check out their Christmas song "O Come All Ye Faithful" because Kevin honors his Dad's Nigerian heritage with an African vibe. You will NEVER want to hear the old original song again.

Liliac got it all to the max, an independent sibling band, 3 brothers and 2 sisters aged 13 - 22.. They do amazing tributes / upgrades of classic rock and metal songs, and got some really great originals aswell.. IMO the old PTX is better, to back up this statement. They made this vid in a closet. Not in a studio, at the cost of $400.00. Old PTX won a grammy for this medley, and have won a total of 3 grammy's. New PTX hasn't won any.
