No they do not blink very often because the contacts were an irritant. Kevin couldn't tolerate them at all and opted for the glasses. They filmed this in Avi's closet and I think their wardrobe conversation went like this. Mitch: I found this cute sweater
    Kevin: screw these contacts
    Scott: I'm going all white
    Kirstie: I'm going all blue
Avi: since you're in my closet, I'm going naked😂

    • @gumbopie
      @gumbopie Год назад +2

There's another factor with Kevin and those contacts. With the other four, though the contact colors are exaggerated for effect, white people do have blue eyes sometimes. I don't think black people do. Having Kevin wear them would have been a puzzling surprise for the viewers, distracting them from the music. This way is better.

@gumbopie ...wtf? that's a bizarre thing to say, the neon blue is super unnatural for anyone of any skin color and that's the point. they literally just bothered his eyes too much.

They do occasionally use objects as improvised instruments. In the making of evergreen they had a pile of misc objects like a wooden pallet to make some of the sound effects for the video.
But they don't need them for live performances in most cases. Except the drum-like device Kevin stomps on during some of their songs. Sound of silence for example.

Just pick any song that sppeals to you in their catalog from Amazing Grace to Mad World and you will be blown away. THEIR originals are also fire! They, and their behind the scene '6th member', Ben Bram, are all involved in arranging. Their musicallity is impressive. Their back story should be a movie! Three of them essentially grew up together and have been singing as a trio since high school. There has only been one member change (the bass) in their 11 year career. Welcome to the rabbit hole! We are Pentaholics and glad to welcome fresh blood. 🤣

It'll all rock you) and get ready for an aural treat! Specific recs: Evolution of Beyonce, Can't Hold Us, Imagine, 90's Dance Medley; Originals: Love Again, Thank You (christmasy but so valid), The Lucky Ones; Christmas: O Come All Ye Faithful, Little Drummer Boy, Silent Night. Honestly fast or slow, original or cover, they are amazing. Welcome!!

Welcom to the rabbit hole that is the Pentaholic family!
Their is no cure to our addiction. 😅
Funny you said that, I actually found their music while in High school.
Yes they arrange their stuff with the help of their friend and producer Ben Bram. And no, not an effect. Their early stuff didn’t have that. Also while they are most known for their covers and medleys, they have original songs and albums as well.
    So here are the members:
Mitch Grassi: Counter tenor, known for his beautiful high voice, but honestly is amazing singing in his lower range as well. (He changes a lot over the years, so if you ever say “is that Mitch?” It’s Mitch.😂
Scott Hoying: Baritone, the blue eyed soul man. Has probably the widest range of the group, he can even sing bass when the bass singer is having a solo.
Kirstin Maldonado (Kirsty is pronounced like “thirsty”): our beautiful Mezzo Soprano, and the only girl in the group. She just gotten more confident and skilled over the years.
Kevin Olusola: the beatboxer. Honestly the most talented member in this group of musical titans. He beatboxes normally, but he has a few singing solos in their songs. He also does cello-boxing, a thing he invented where he beatboxes and plays cello at the same time. He’s even done it in some of their arrangements (they mostly do acapella, but only use instruments if you see one in the video)
Avi: bass. He has classical training as a basso profundo, and was the band’s bass from 2011-2017. He later left the group on good terms, and no does solo work here and there (correction: he's done a bunch of work and several tours).
In fact almost all the members have solo work and there’s even a duo album.
Matt Sallee: bass, in 2017 he replace Avi, and quickly became apart of the group. He is super charismatic, and it’s always fun with him and Kevin at concerts 😂
I hope this info helps you, and I look forward to your PTX journey. 😊
(Sorry if this was too much to read) 😬

Avi certainly does more solo work than "here and there". Since 2017 he's put out 4 EP's and in 2022 his first all-original, 11-song album. He's toured Europe twice and the US/Canada 3 times, so I'd say that's more than just a little.

    Pentatonix
They won The Sing Off in 2011. They made a guest starring appearance on America′s Got Talent as non−competitors a couple of years after that.
    The founding members are:-
    Scott Hoying (tall blond guy, natural baritone but has an impressive five−to−six octave range, can go all the way up to high tenor and down to bass, sings the bass lines when the usual bass singer takes the lead);

Kirstin "Kirstie" (Rhymes with "Thirsty") Maldonado (the only female member, natural mezzo soprano, but can go down to low alto and as high as upper soprano, also can sing in whistle notes that are off the scale); For a time in 2018 between the group’s tours, had the female lead on Broadway in the production of “Kinky Boots”.
    Mitch Grassi (a true contra−tenor, can hit high notes in his chest voice with ease and go WAY higher in his falsetto, also with ease);
Avriel "Avi" Kaplan (dark beard and long hair), true basso profundo, trained as an opera singer, also can go up into the tenor range; and
Kevin "KO" Olusola (beatboxer extraordinaire, also is a world−class cellist who plays cello on some of their songs, has a beautiful high tenor voice and gets occasional lead vocal solos as well, graduated pre−med from Yale and speaks several languages including Mandarin Chinese).
Kirstie, Scott & Mitch grew up together in Arlington, Texas, and began performing together as children in local youth musical theater. They ended up in high school together and performed in the choir. While there, they formed an a cappella group called The Trio which had several performance videos go viral on RUclips, most notably a cover of Lady Gaga′s "Telephone". The three of them are best friends and consider themselves to be almost siblings.
Scott & Kirstie (who were a class year ahead of Mitch) both graduated high school in 2010 and went their separate ways to different colleges, Scott at USC and Kirstie at Oklahoma.
While at USC, Scott joined a USC−based a cappella group called the SoCal VoCals, where he met alumnus Ben Bram, who was now an arranger and vocal coach for the NBC TV show The Sing Off, an a cappella competition show. Ben convinced Scott to get The Trio to audition for the show. The three reunited (Mitch had to skip high school graduation ceremonies to go) in Los Angeles for the audition.
They found out that the rules had changed, so they needed at least five members to audition. Ben put them together with Avi (a native of Visalia, California), who he knew from Avi′s performing days at Mount San Antonio College in California. They found Kevin (from Kentucky) through one of his RUclips videos that had gone viral featuring him playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time, a talent that Kevin coined as "Cello−Boxing".
Kevin arrived in Los Angeles literally the day before the audition! Scott came up with the name "Pentatonix" after the pentatonic scale. They performed a re−arrangement of "The Telephone" for the audition and passed, despite having been together as a five−piece group for less that 24 hours!
They won The Sing Off that season (all of the performances are available on RUclips), in which they received a substantial cash prize AND a record contract with Epic Records. They pooled their prize winnings together and all moved to Los Angeles, and all got apartments right next door to each other in the same building.
But just a week later, Epic dropped them because the marketing people didn′t think an a cappella group could sell records.
Instead of giving up, they were determined and began recording their own songs on RUclips, hiring Ben Bram as their producer and arranger. These usually consisted of the five of them sitting on a couch and performing cover songs live.
Several of the videos went viral, and Sony (the parent company of Epic) decided to give them another chance by placing them on one of their smaller labels, Madison Gate. They released two secular EPs and one Christmas EP on Madison Gate, all of which were strong sellers.
But when their cove r of a medley of songs by Daft Punk not only went super−viral, but also won them their first Grammy, they were promoted all the way up to RCA Records, Sony′s top label.
They began writing and producing their own songs in addition to their covers, began putting out a Christmas album just about annually (which has become their best−selling genre), and have had multi−platinum album sales, sold−out world tours, and have won two additional Grammys.
Avi began getting burned out with all of the touring and heavy recording schedule, was suffering from anxiety and personal problems, and learned that his mother had been diagnosed with cancer in 2017. He announced he was departing from the group and taking some time away from the music industry.
Matt Sallee (from Baltimore) joined them in September 2017. He did only become official when they renewed their RCA contract in February 2018, but he recorded with them in September as a featured artist and went on their Christmas tour as a featured artist, as well. When he attended the audition for the group, he had already mastered the Bass part for most if not all their past catalogue. He was successful and has proved that he fits in well with the group.
If you think there have been other changes to the line up - look again. This is the ONLY change. Kirstie and Mitch are like chameleons and change looks frequently.
After a year away from music, Avi has now returned as a phenomenal solo artist in the Folk/Americana/Roots genre.
Ben Bram has been in charge of their production, including arranging and directing from the beginning. He is often referred to as the sixth member. Scott and Kevin are major players in the arrangements, but every member contributes. A good watch is "The Recording of Evergreen" where a camera was invited into the studio for the second week of recording/
Also, all members are songwriters for both Pentatonix and their own solo work.
Ed Boyer who mixes everything of theirs (even the HWB Livestream) is the one who pulled Ben Bram into the sing off in the first place.
They have Grammy wins for Daft Punk Medley, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Jolene featuring Dolly Parton. They were nominated for a 4th Grammy for their album Evergreen, but didn't win.
Kirstie became a new mum which caused a pause in touring after their Evergreen Christmas tour 2021. Mid March 2023 Kirstie has announced that she is engaged to Ben Hausdorff, their videographer. No dates YET!
They have a star on the Hollywood walk of fame installed in February 2023. They are the only a capella group with a star!
They came 3rd in the 2023 Masked Singer performing as "California Rolls" being unmasked in May 23.
Things you need to know because if you get these wrong Pentaholics will come after you with pitch forks and torches! Ha Ha!!
1- There is NO Auto-Tune; what you hear is actually what they sing. They really are that good. One exception is the 90's Dance Medley where Cher used autotune as an effect - so they had to.
2- What produces everything that you hear in the video, you see in the official video. If there is an instrument used in the music, you see it on screen. In the 2022 Christmas album, there are some instruments not featured throughout the album.
3- They never release something on video they can’t reproduce with the exact same quality live on-stage.

The fans are Pentaholics. Welcome. If you want another concert, check out Bohemian Rhapsody. Or anything else. The reaction to the guy with the high voice is called getting "Mitch--slapped" because the guy with the high voice is Mitch. The 5 (Penta) people in Pentatonix are Scott (tall, blond, baritone), Mitch (short counter-tenor, which means he can sing higher than many women, changes his appearance often), Kirsten (Kirstie, rhymes with "thirsty", soprano, changes her appearance often), Kevin (beat boxer, tenor, cello, African-American), and the original bass Avi (Ah-vee, short, dark hair, beard, basso-profundo, has broken speakers at a performance by going too low) or replacement bass after Avi left, Matt (bass, tall, African-American, now has been in the band longer than Avi was). The only members who changed are Avi who left and Matt who replaced him. Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch went to high school together in Arlington TX and sang together. They wanted to be on the Sing-Off but needed more people so they added Kevin and Avi. They won.

Matt, you are actually an excellent reactor because you ask questions and invite answers. Also with your pauses, you are less likely to get blocked for copyright infringement. The Grammy for this song, and their second Grammy for "Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy," were both in the category of "Best arrangement instrumental or a cappella." Both Grammys were shared with Ben Bram (sometimes known as "the sixth member of Pentatonix"), who is listed as one of the arrangers, but they all participate in arranging. Note: Before this was nominated for the Grammy, that category did not exist. It had to be changed from "Best arrangement instrumental" to add a cappella to it.
For a totally surprising arrangement of a song you've probably heard a million times, try their version of "O Come All Ye Faithful." This arrangement was heavily influenced by Kevin.
Also, try any of their "Evolution of..." videos. Except for "Evolution Of Music," which doesn't limit itself to a single artist, they're all medleys of songs from a single artist, arranged in chronological order, and they were all shot in a single take.
Pentatonix also do original songs. Try "Run To You," which was written by Avi and Kevin - no lead singer, no solos, no beatboxing, just glorious five part harmony throughout.
"Light In The Hallway" is a lullabye that was written by Scott for his nephew, and Scott asked Avi to sing it; he'd had Avi's voice in mind when he wrote it.
"Thank You" was written by Scott and his boyfriend (now husband) Mark Manio just after COVID lockdown ended, about how much easier it was to get through that difficult time because they were doing it together.
There are lots of other originals from them; those are just the ones that sprang to mind.

We Pentaholics call their early songs as being by the Baby Pentatonixs. They were on a tv program called The Sing Off . It ran for 4 or 5 seasons though there was a gap between a couple of seasons. Pentatonix won the 3rd season. Their portions of the program are still on You Tube. It would be interesting for you to watch them develop as a group.
Scott (white hair), Mitch (high voice - counter tenor) and Kirstie sang as a trio in high school with Mitch being 1 year behind them in school. Scott and Kirstie graduated and went on to college, Scott in California and Kirstie I believe in Oklahoma. Anyway, the tv program came up and they were pitching the idea of an a capella group competition. Scott contacted Kirstie and Mitch but they needed at least 2 more people - a bass and a beat boxer to compete. A friend of Scott’s Ben Bram (became their manager and arranger of some of their music) found Avi I think he was either going to the same school or had just graduated. He studied music and is considered a basso profundo. Although he can sing in a higher register. They found Kevin (guy with the glasses - you’re right he couldn’t take wearing the contacts) on You Tube where he was playing the cello AND beatboxing at the same time. Somehow they got in contact with him and he agreed to come out and be with them (he was pre-med at Harvard I think!) How he convinced his parents I have no idea! They met just a few days before the competition started and they won! Now going on 11 years now, there has only been 1 change in the group and that was Avi left in 2017 and Matt Sallee came in in 2018. They do write and produce their own music and well as do cover song “upgrades”. A few original pieces are Run to You, Light in the Hallway, Anchor, Be My Eyes and Coffee in Bed.

Pentatonix (abbreviated "PTX") is the only a cappella band to have won a Grammy, except they've actually won three Grammys. They're also the only a cappella band to have a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. And yes, you pronounced "Pentatonix" correctly. BTW, Pentatonix fans refer to ourselves as pentaholics, and if you continue down this rabbit hole you can expect to have a LOT of pentaholics descend upon your channel.
"Daft Punk Medley" won Pentatonix their first Grammy. Their second Grammy was for "Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy," and their third Grammy was for their collaboration with Dolly Parton on her song, "Jolene."
    The members of Pentatonix:
    In this video we have:
Scott Hoying, lyric baritone. Scott is the guy with white hair and eyebrows; normally he's blond but he'd recently decided to bleach his hair when they made this. Scott's range begins somewhere in the middle of a normal bass range and extends up through a normal tenor range. When Pentatonix's bass has a solo Scott can and does take over the bass's harmony line.
Kirstin (also called Kirstie, which rhymes with thirsty) Maldonado, the only woman in Pentatonix. Kirstie can sing anything from a low alto through a high soprano, and she has fantastic whistle notes on top of that.
Mitch Grassi (pronounced Grah'-see, emphasis on the first syllable), the clean shaven dark-haired guy who keeps singing "One more time," is a natural contratenor with a range of just over six octaves. Shawn Stockman, of Boyz II Men, said Mitch has "one of the prettiest voices I have ever heard in my life." Mitch moves seamlessly between chest voice, mixed voice, and head voice, and all the other members of Pentatonix agree that he's their best singer. We call that astonished look people get when they first realize that the gorgeous high vocals are coming from a man "being Mitch slapped." You've been Mitch slapped. Don't let it worry you; it's happened to all of us, generally more than once, because Mitch is full of surprises.
Avi (pronounced Ah'-vee, emphasis on the first syllable) Kaplan, bearded white guy, is a lyric bass. Avi is an operatically trained basso profundo, but his range extends upward to about the middle of a normal tenor range. Avi is also the only member of Pentatonix who is no longer with the band; he resigned in 2017 for a variety of personal reasons, but he's since gone on to have a very successful solo career. I highly recommend subscribing to his RUclips channel: youtube.com/@AviKaplanMusic
The fifth member of Pentatonix is the black guy wearing the visor: Kevin Olusola (pronounced Oh-loosh"-oh-luh', primary emphasis on the second syllable, secondary emphasis on the fourth syllable), beatboxer extraordinaire. Somewhere there may be a better beatboxer than Kevin, but if so I've never encountered him or her. Kevin is generally too busy being the entire percussion section to sing, but when he does sing he has a lovely tenor voice that occasionally dips into the uppermost reaches of baritone, and he's known for the beauty of his falsetto. He's also a pretty good rapper. Kevin has perfect pitch. He's classically trained on piano, saxophone, and cello. He beatboxes while playing the cello, a technique he calls "celloboxing." He performed at Carnegie Hall twice when he was a teenager, once on saxophone and once on cello. He has a pre-med degree from Yale and had been accepted to Yale Medical School before he decided to become a professional musician instead. He speaks five languages: English, French, Spanish, German, and Mandarin Chinese. He's one of the kindest people in the world, and when he laughs he makes the whole planet seem like a brighter place.
Not in this video: Matt Sallee (pronounced Suh-lee', emphasis on the second syllable), lyric bass, joined in late 2017 after Avi left. It's hard to be sure just what Matt's range is, because it's still growing. To find his current range I recommend listening to a live stream of "Hallelujah" from their recent world tour, though you should probably watch their official video of "Hallelujah" first so you can hear what it sounded like with Avi singing the second verse. You can find the recording with Matt here: ruclips.net/video/ASYzLoi810k/видео.html Matt's arrangement of the second verse seems to be designed to show off his full range, and it will blow you away. I don't believe he's at the basso profundo level yet, but I expect him to reach it within a year or two. On the high end he reaches the upper end of a tenor range.

Questions: "Do they do sound effects? [while pointing at Mitch singing a high passage]" - They can do this live. And Mitch can sing whistle notes. Like Mariah Carey whistle notes.
"Do they write their songs?" - Pentatonix has an arranger that works with them, Ben Bram. In fact, PTX won a Grammy for this arrangement.
"Is [Kevin] just wearing this because he can't put in contacts?" - I don't know if Kevin couldn't put them in. I'm sure some other PTX fan (called Pentaholics) knows the answer to that one. But if you look carefully at the video you can see that several people, especially the bass, Avi Kaplan, have _major_ eye irritation. Mitch is even wearing glasses in their little "Hi!" message at the end of the video, and I don't think I've ever seen him wear them elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't or didn't want to wear them for some reason.

    • @Badger77722
      @Badger77722 Год назад +3

Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie all wear either glasses or contacts IRL, so they didn't have as much trouble with the cheap costume contacts. Neither Avi or Kevin wear anything, and while Avi had a lot of irritation from the contacts, he powered through and continued to wear them. Kevin just couldn't take them and had to go with the goggles/sunglasses.
Mitch has worn glasses in a few videos, especially early in their career (Evolution of Music, Can't Hold Us), and both he and Kirstie wear them sometimes in their outros.

@Badger77722 - Sorry for my wrongness about Mitch wearing glasses. I figured a few of them had contacts, just statistically speaking, but I had no idea who. More than Avi has incredibly irritated eyes in this video. Mitch's are bloodshot, and Kirstin's are getting there. Scott seems to be the only one _not_ having a problem really.

Love your enthusiasm! (And the nail polish!) This is version 1 Pentatonix. In 2017, bass Avi Kaplan (the guy with no shirt) left for personal reasons and was replaced by Matt Sallee, so you might want to watch 90s Dance Medley to have another high-energy medley featuring the current line-up. They collaborate with an arranger named Ben Bram, who is also a friend and has been with them since they started in 2011 with their winning run on The Sing Off. Welcome to the Pentaholics!

They have done classic covers(some say upgrades) such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Hallelujah, Imagine, Radioactive to name a few. Oh and check out their Evolution Of videos. Evolution of Music and Evolution of Michael Jackson and more. They've performed with Kelly Clarkson, Lindsey Sterling, Jason Derulo, Dolly Pardon, Miley Syrus and Megan Trainor. Pentatonix History…..composed by Alan Freeman
They won The Sing Off in 2011. They made a guest starring appearance on America′s Got Talent as non−competitors a couple of years after that.
    The founding members are:-
    Scott Hoying (tall blond guy, natural baritone but has an impressive five−to−six octave range, can go all the way up to high tenor and down to bass, sings the bass lines when the usual bass singer takes the lead);

    Mitch Grassi (a true contra−tenor, can hit high notes in his chest voice with ease and go WAY higher in his falsetto, also with ease);
But just a week later, Epic dropped them because the marketing people didn′t think an acappella group could sell records.
But when their cover of a medley of songs by Daft Punk not only went super−viral, but also won them their first Grammy, they were promoted all the way up to RCA Records, Sony′s top label.
Scott and Kevin are major players in the arrangements, but every member contributes. good watch is "The Recording of Evergreen" where a camera was invited into the studio for the second week of recording/
Also, all members are songwriters for both Pentatonix and their own solo work.
Ed Boyer who mixes everything of theirs (even the HWB Livestream) is the one who pulled Ben Bram into the sing off in the first place.
They are the only acapella group with a star!
Things you need to know because if you get these wrong “Pentaholics” will come after you with pitch forks and torches!

    Yes, that is Avi's voice.
Avi Kaplan is a classically/operatically trained basso profundo. (Profoundly deep bass)
He has not been with the group since 2017. He is a singer, songwriter but his music is more
Folk, Americana, country and western genera.
He lives in his cabin deep in the hills and forests of Tennessee on his 1000 acre property but originally from California.

You are correct; Kevin's eyes were unable to tolerate the contacts so they found a visor that has some kind of connection to Daft Punk (I'm not a Daft Punk fan so I don't know what the connection is). Judging by how red his eyes were, Avi must also have been having trouble with the contacts.
Pentatonix was doing this on a budget of around $400, most of which went for makeup (presumably including the blue contacts) and the ring light. I keep thinking that if they'd had more money they might have bought soft contacts and we could have seen Kevin with blue eyes.

The bass singer, Avi Kaplin, left the group in 2017 to take care of his mom while she went through cancer treatment. He helped them to find Matt Sallee who is the new bass. His voice almost never fails to get a reaction. He is what is known as a counter tenor, Which is a very rare vocal type. Basically, it is a tenor that can sing in the soprano range. Personally, I'm convinced that he can go even higher than hes shown yet. And I firmly believe that he can hit a note only dogs can hear.

Check out the performance of Imogene Heap's Aha in Singapore star vista. It has to be THAT specific video. I always say Avi could have blown a speaker ( which he has actually done so search that video ) and Mitch could have shattered glass. They have little sayings for this group like AVI launched Mitch slapped or KO for Kevin's beat boxing. Their story is a really great one. I was an instant fan. They honor Freddy Mercury and Queen with Bohemian Rhapsody. Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli with THE PRAYER. Also Mitch and Scott have formed a duet called Superfruit. They do a mix of songs from the show Empire which is outstanding. I could go on and on because there is not one single song they have performed that is bad. Moreover they are all outstanding. I love watching the reactions, especially when Mitch fools everyone into thinking he is really Kirstie singing. His voice is angelic to say the least. Scott is so soulfully talented. And I believe he can substitute for bass if Avi or Matt ( the new bass singer since Avi left the group) is singing. All I can say is watch all that they have done. Pentatonix never disappoints. They are also known for covering Christmas songs and have Holiday concerts during the Holiday season. Oh, and their evolution videos are delightful to listen to as well. Michael Jackson, Rhianna, Beyonce , Adriana Grande. I'll stop commenting and let you begin your Pentatonix adventure.

Pentatonix, or PTX, are amazing and worth the jump into the rabbit hole. They have covers that fans call upgrades, and they have originals, too. Individually, they are amazing, but when you put them together they are the best of the best. The only change to the group in all the years of PTX was the bass, Avi Kaplan, who now has a solo career (and my favorite singer today). So anything you listen to through 2017 is Avi, after 2017 is Matt. Though their appearance may change, the rest of the group has remained the same.

❤ Love your reaction!! 😅 You did start with the video that won them their first Grammy!! LOL But not to worry, the started out with mind blowing talent and have not missed with a single song!! You could really shock yourself by watching The Sing Off-2011(m 10:46 in of 13 episodes to watch), and then l listen to something new!! They just dropped a new original a few weeks ago. It's called "I Rise". There's a PTX short out where Scott, the lead singer in this song, talks about the meaning of the song. Short version, it's about all of us! Everyone has obstacles to face but we keep going!! 😊❤❤

It’s a mix of a lot of things.
They do covers, but also lots of original music. And yes, they arrange them selves along with their longtime producer/co-arranger Ben Bram.

You are a great reactor. The sount effects were mostly done by the Geordi La Forge guy (Kevin Olusola) and the shirtless guy (Avi Kaplan, who has since left Pentatonix. The rabbit hole you hove just entereed is totally Robert Frostian "lovely, dark, and deep." Welcome, make some popcorn, and enjoy. They do have one outside arranger, a guy named Ben Brom, who works with several acapella groups, but most of their arrangements are very much their own.

I am sure you will have gotten a TON of information on them down below because we Pentaholics come en masse when we discover a new reactor that's fallen down the rabbit hole that is Pentatonix - we just LOVE seeing new people being blown away by these alien unicorn angels! Also - don't worry about talking too much. You are going to get the haters - ignore them. You are a REACTOR. We come for YOUR reaction. If we wanted to watch uninterrupted we would go watch the original video by them. Also pausing will help a lot with SME blocks which PTX videos are notorious for getting disputes. PTX loves reactors but their label is very rabid about reactors.
Also if you do more of them (and I hope you do!) It helps to avoid the copyright claims by 1 as you did in this one..a filter over the video can help. Also, lowering t he video opacity as well and another tip I have seen work for most reactors is laying words overtop of the video such as 'Blocked due to copywrite' or something like that, or logo's to further obscure the video. Most of the time that their videos are blocked it's because of the video itself. Sometimes it is the audio as well but, pausing a lot to give comments helps with that as well.
Loved loved, love the reaction to this one! You just earned a sub from me hoping for more PTX reactions. A few of my favorites to check out. 'Imagine', 'The Prayer', 'Amazing Grace', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', '90's Dance Medley', and if you want a good live performance do their 'Popspring 2016' performance. It was done in Japan which is why Mitch and Kirstie will be cosplaying as anime characters. They do 4 songs in it, 3 of which are originals (Cracked, Can't Sleep Love, and Water) and they also do their Evolution of Michael Jackson in it. 15 minutes-ish but well worth a view!

The b-boxer was wearing the sunglasses as a nod to DAFTPUNK who wear helmets when they perform.
AND they wi a Grammy for this song.
Welcome to a very deep rabbit hole!😁
