Koh Lanta or Kon Phayam if you want top class island Vibes. Stay away from long beach on Koh Lanta, though. Far too many road works going on. I was on Koh Phangyan few months ago. Bit to fake for me.
Thanks Tim, I’ve been to Koh Lanta a long time ago,it was nice. There’s a lot of construction going on everywhere now while it’s quiet getting ready for high season.
Ye you got to watch out with your passport mate, or very high deposits for that matter. Really take some pictures of the bike before you take it because some shops will demand that you pay for damage when you hand it in again. Damage that was often already there before, and they hold your passport hostage untill you compensate them. Probably best to do some research on the place, read some reviews, stuff like that, before you hand some unknown shopkeeper a large amount of money or the passport. Sounds obvious, but you know, travelers are often tired or dont really understand whats been said, and just want to get on with it and those are the kind of situations where you mess up.
I was by no means an east target I refused in over 20 places and never got one until the next day. To be honest Everybody on the Island said this is common practice and we’re shocked I’ve never been asked in Thailand before. I wasn’t happy about it, should never have to leave your passport anywhere. I offered them all 2k Baht but they wouldn’t budge under 5k. Sometimes it can be a struggle to get your deposit back.
@@ParkinsonRawI didn’t worry about leaving your passport, they’ve been doing it for years. The motorbike rental shops would go out of business if they lost people’s passports, is my thinking!
Great stuff Richy. You're doing a grand job.
Thanks very much Bobby, so glad your enjoying it mate.

I always bring clothes hangars from home, just throw in half a dozen on top of your clothes, too easy 😀
That’s a good tip Mark, not so easy for me constantly moving for bag space. If your on holiday though it makes sense👍🏻
enjoy koh phangan good mushrooms there nice for a day trip 🦘🦘

I’m heavy on google reviews, brilliant for research on everything I do👍🏻
Where would you stay if you don’t have a bike and you want to be close to bars , beach and massages?
Best area please?
In Koh Samui the main areas are Chewang and Lamai. Koh Phangan is Thong Sala where you get off the ferry.
Check out Ban Tai, good location to stay.
I’m away from Samui now mate but it did look nice up there. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll keep it in mind for next time.

They must think ur an easy target , cause you do not have to leave passport there and deposit is 2-3 k max
