Hey man, could you please tell me how to gain this tone?
I'm learning the bass, and my role with it. Do you think it's generally better to mirror the rhythm guitar riff basically note for note, or to create your own separate bass line while using the root notes? ....I've heard both are done, but from your experience do you have a preference?
I'd say it depends on what the song calls for and how many other instruments are involved, the way I treat it is the less band members the more the bass can do

As a beginner you would probably get the most out of a cheaper bass, maybe find a used one one marketplace, that's where I got mine, my advice start with a 4 string, they are cheaper, and a bit easier to wrap your head around, may God be with you man

I can't hear the notes... Only the terrible tone... You really need to put some low mids in your tone man... Think about 250 / 350 Hz..
