When I took the clip live in the moment, I thought Vinny was being down-bad for the character. Later, I realized he was actually just making a well-placed joke about how much it resembled his life.

When I was first watching the stream VOD for this, I was quick to dismiss a lot of what characters were saying as being cryptic for cryptic's sake. I was under the assumption that the developer (intentionally or not) was simply adopting a minor trend in the online art space, where it's now hip (or I guess always was) to mimic early CGI, PC software, and the retro aesthetics of late 90s/early 2000s video game consoles. I still think that, but this bit here about the mime performing out of not just passion, but a conceited desire to be adored and revered by an audience of some kind, is almost like a guilty confession most creatives wouldn't admit.

idk how much this one will resemble the first disillusion but as someone that had that same process while i started playing it, it went soo much deeper. there's indeed a lot of surrealism for surrealism's sake but there's also a lot of symbolism around religion and mental illness and the "retro"/nostalgic vibe of it just kinda helps the impact a bit more. again not sure if this one will follow the same route but the first game definitely surprised me with how deep and thought-provoking it ended up being

Y'know, sometimes, I start thinking about passion, what is passion to me? Have I ever felt it? Or is it a completely foreign feeling for me? I'm not really expressive and I struggle with the whole "strong emotions and feelings" thing, not to mention I generally lack interest in such things, but I do wonder, am I really as cold as I feel I am? Am I perhaps more emotional and, dare I say, passionate than I let myself think? Or am I truly a being incapable of true, real passion?

My personal interpretation of passion is the process of doing something for no other reason than the very act of doing that thing. As in, you're an artist spending hours on a project without even realizing and with nothing pushing you forwards but your desire to commit to the act; you're not even thinking about the monetary or social gain that might result from said project, just the joy it will give you when you finally perfect it.
That character and their manneuisms in particular reminds me of VLIF's animations.
